Mark has been a great teacher for this adult beginner! I take lessons in clawhammer banjo and ukulele with him, and his easy-going nature and skill in identifying ways to improve make it a joyful experience! Highly recommend.

Mr. Sylvester is one of the greatest. He is not just an amazing guitarist, but he is also very kind. He treats people with so much respect. He speaks to me and my mom so nicely. He is very patient. He has a deep knowledge of music and knows how to get the most out of even the least talented people (like me!). He doesn't ever get mad if you make a mistake or forget to bring your music notes. We were so lucky to find Mr. Sylvester.

Mark is a talented musician who plays and teaches multiple stringed instruments. His lessons are always informative and supportive. They are driven by the student’s interest, so anything you want o learn— styles of music, how to do a particular technique, music theory— you can bring to class. And every now and then he organizes a recital— terrifying but great practice!

I have 30 years experience in playing and teaching many styles, including rock, folk, classical, and jazz, I have played classical guitar at weddings for over 30 years, both as a soloist and with ensembles. I have put together occasional jazz groups. I am also familiar with much rock and folk music, especially from the '60s.

About Geoff

I played on a toy piano when I was very young, learning a bit of sight reading from my Mother, while listening to classical, jazz, and rock music. When I was 12, I learned guitar and later took private piano lessons from a prominent Philadelphia instructor. After playing in a rock band in high sc

I totally enjoyed my class with Geoff. We immediately started my lesson with tuning the ukulele. Then we went over the cords and strumming. I have been researching on playing the ukulele and his explanation on the strumming was a lot better than the book. He is teaching me how to play by listening to the notes which is great because I would be able to play the Hawaiian music for my hula classes. In addition, his studio is only a 5 minute drive from my house, which means I don’t have to deal with traffic.

Travel the world through music from the comfort of any seat in your home. I have been doing this for the past twelve years with my guitar. I have been through the rivers and amazons of Brazil, getting to know their rhythms that influenced the catchy Bossa Nova; I have walked the muck and mud of Southern USA, playing the Blues and training my fingerstyle technique to imitate that of my idols, and I have cleaned through the distorted grit of Rock around the world to find my own voice. These are only a few places I have travelled. After my education in Guitar, Production, and Songwriting at Berklee College of Music, I can help you cater to the lesson plan you need to take your skills to the next level, the next venue, and the pieces inside of you waiting to be manifested into notes. When do we start?

About Michael

Hola! Michael here, I'm an American/Mexican raised in Mexico. I moved to the US to pursue music. I went to Berklee College of Music where I studied Music Production, Composition, and Songwriting! I am now living in Nashville jamming with every person I can meet!

Michael is a careful, patient and fun teacher. He took time to make sure I was learning and applying my new guitar skills. He would not move beyond until I got it. I highly recommend Michael for beginners and intermediate guitar players.
Sarah
Michael is always enthusiastic and excited to work with my daughter on her guitar skills. He makes afternoon activities something my daughter thoroughly looks forward to. Michael is passionate about music and it is contagious to all his students! Ask Michael to teach you or your kids!!!
Gabby
My two boys were shy and inexperienced guitar wanna-be players. Michael opened up his home and his heart and slowly but surely built confidence within them. He has the patience and kindness that were necessary for my boys. However, he knew when and how to push them to become better and more confident with each class. His methods were unique and effective. They looked forward to Wednesday afternoons with Michael. Although we have moved away, my children speak highly of the kind and experienced player that Michael was with them when they needed it most. I recommend Michael!

"Worked with John for a few months with very little understanding of guitar. He went through chords I should learn and gave me practice suggestions. Also went into music theory per my request and explained in simple terms. By the end, I felt that I had a much greater understanding of music. John also worked to learn what music that I liked and wanted to play, so that he could introduce songs that would maintain my interest and be of an appropriate skill level for me to not get frustrated or bored with. Also worked with my schedule when needed and was very accommodating."

The Do's And Don'ts Of Buying The Best Beginner Acoustic Guitar
