Transcend the instrument and be able to play with anything. Learn your favorite tunes by ear and on the guitar. That is what I focus on. From beginning rudiments all the way through completely breaking down and conceptualizing the fretboard.
I've been playing for 20 years and have studied jazz at Peabody Conservatory and Berklee College of Music. However, I have played in bluegrass, rock, funk, hip hop and klezmer bands, as well.
I try to create an individual approach for each student because every person learns uniquely. I work with people on skills that apply to music at large, as well as the guitar 🎸. My goal is to help a student learn how to learn on their own, and provide the tools to do so.

About Gabriel
Most beginners I’ve encountered have no idea what they want to play or even why. my suggestion is before coming to your teacher pinpoint the what and the why. Why did you want to learn guitar? Was it a song, or a really cool sounding riff? Did you see someone play live and feel like “I could do th

I have been teaching guitar professionally for over 4 years in the Atlanta area. As a recent graduate of Kennesaw State University with a degree in Jazz Guitar Performance, I have developed a deep love for music and the guitar which I thoroughly enjoy sharing with my students. I currently teach and perform, traveling across the United States with various groups performing a multitude of genres, all of which I love teaching and sharing with eager students! I was not a "natural" guitarist, so I have a great method for making guitar/music make sense so that all of my students can be successful. I look forward to working with you!
About Patrick
I am a professional guitarist, composer, and educator living in the Greater Atlanta Area. I started playing guitar while in high school at Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School. I owe a lot of my success to my time spent here as this school is consistently ranked one of the top schools in the nation. I

My method is centered around having my students consistently learn new material, while retaining what they have learned. I’m sensitive to making sure they are challenged while also giving them material that will enable them to succeed. I customize each lesson to meet the needs and interests of each student. An example of a 45 minute lesson commonly includes the first 5 minutes being dedicated to checking in on how the practice went, and answering any questions the student may have about the material. Then there would be 15 minutes of review which would consist of finding which parts of the material are most challenging and finding the most effective way for the student to practice those parts and perfect the material. After that, there would be a three minute pause during which the student would listen to the new piece (whether it be material I introduced or material they suggested) so they can write down everything that they enjoyed and perceived about the new piece. Then there ...
About David
I'm an Argentinian/American musician who decided to pursue music as a career when I was 8 years old. I had just seen Al Green perform at the Apollo and was awed by the incredible impact and joy music can have on people. With the support of my parents, who are musicians as well, I began studying wit

In the time I have been studying with Tim, I have done more than I thought I ever could. I went from a frustrated beginner guitar player to having enough confidence to play on stage with some of Tim’s other students and I am now looking forward to what I will be able to do on the guitar instead of being frustrated with what I can’t do.
Tim is a talented and passionate musician as well as a knowledgeable and very relatable instructor which is a rare combination and he's also a really great guy and any student of any age or ability will benefit from studying with him."

If you're familiar with blues chords and ready to start trying your hand at some riffs, this exercise from guitar teacher Samuel B. will help you get the ball rolling... As an instructor (and blues guitar afficionado), I'm keen on you developing a working knowledge of the blues. The blues is the musicological basis of all recognizable forms of American music (gospel, contemporary country, soul, rhythm & blues, bluegrass, early rock n roll, the list goes on). Therefore, said knowledge will imp …
