I have a degree in music with a teaching certificate. I have been teaching cello privately for 10 years. Depending on the age of the child we will start with either Essential Elements or Suzuki cello book one. They will start with proper positioning and plucking. Once they have 8 notes down, we start bowing. As we progress, we will be doing scales, and etudes.

Ms Chris was great my daughter really enjoyed her first lesson. Ms Chris was easy to work with and made my daughter comfortable that she felt free to ask questions and make mistakes without worry. My daughter is looking forward to the next lesson.

If you’re looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable and patient strings teacher, you will love Mrs. Heins. Both of my sons have been taking lessons from Mrs. Heins for several years (one for viola and one for cello). They have learned so much under her instruction, such as earning All-County and All-State honors. They also practice their live performance skills twice a year during informal musical concerts. Mrs. Heins also offers participation in the Royal Conservatory Music Development program, which can earn your child credit for college. She is a gem and should you choose her, you won’t be disappointed.

Nicole is fabulous! We have twins with different strengths. Nicole was able to tap into each girl's potential and tailor their initial lesson so that they both experienced success. You know it's good when they are already talking about next week!

I can help the student practice and learn their way around the cello in an efficient manner. This means that I will be helping with intonation and other technique by giving exercises for the challenging passages. Lessons will be customized according to the goal of the student. Sharing my knowledge in cello and music is a passion and a goal of mine and I would love to help reach your goals.

I am currently a student at the Juilliard School in New York. I began to play the cello at the age of 6. I have attended Summer programs such as Kneisel Chamber Music Festival, Heifetz International Music Institute, and the Meadowmount School of Music. Before college, I studied with Hans Jørgen Jen

While a bit humbling Alex definitely helped me fix some glaring technical issues, particularly with the bow.

She helped my 12 year old daughter prepare the Saint Saens Cello concerto (1st movement) for a small performance. My daughter played more spiritedly after her session with Alex. She was especially helpful for a specific bow technique.

"Chris is a fantastic teacher. His approach to teaching makes sense and is very effective. My son is 10 and immediately had an excellent rapor with Chris.
Chris explained that he has several different ways of teaching and he tailors it to the child's experience and personality. Listening to him teach is pretty amazing. I want to video tape it and show it to the world. As you can see...we just think he's great!"

"Best instructor I've had in years

I've been taking lessons with Matt for about a year now, and within that time my skill on the drum kit has improved tenfold. Matt teaches with a vast number of strategies to help me understand the lesson and improve my technique. He makes learning an instrument entertaining (as it should be) and not a chore or boring task. Matt is friendly, relatable, timely, and the best drum/percussion instructor I've had in California. 10/10 would recommend."

"Peter has been very thorough in his teachings with our children. He has given them well rounded/comprehensive lessons that has included music theory, rhythm and just a general understanding of the musicality needed to perform a song.

Being that I am a musician myself, that studied at the University of North Texas, I can be very critical of most musicians but especially teachers that work with my kids. I would highly recommend Peter to anyone that is looking for a teacher that teaches more than just notes on a page.
