Clarksburg Music Lessons for Teens

Children and adults alike benefit from and enjoy the personalized elements of our teaching style. We provide students the opportunity to learn the fundamentals and techniques necessary to become skilled musicians, and are always happy to help students work toward their individual goals for learning. We believe strongly that learning should be fun. We work hard to ensure an enjoyable learning experience. In making sure that students enjoy what they are learning, we add value to the skills that are taught, by fostering a true appreciation for the joy music can bring.

With 10 years of teaching piano lessons and 3 degrees in piano, I have both the expertise and experience to provide a uniquely tailored learning environment to piano students of all ages and levels. Teaching excites me because it gives me the opportunity to find out each student's individuality and to help them reach their inner potential. Since student goals vary from wanting to play chord charts in a garage band to aspiring to become a concert pianist, I do not have a rigid teaching method - rather, I tailor it to each student. Beyond the fundamentals of technique and reading music, piano lessons with me include focusing any amount of the following: classical, improvisation, composition, theory, jazz, popular styles, hymns, etc... I can't wait to begin guiding you on your musical journey with the piano!

I specialize in contemporary music theory and also have an intermediate knowledge of classical theory. Students will learn the basics such as roman numerals for chords, all the way to advanced concepts such as chord scales, modulation and chord substitution. Unless otherwise requested, all lessons will be taught using music notation.

As a kid I remembered the feeling after my first drum lesson and couldn't wait to go back to my next one. My goal is to make YOU a better player and have you continue to strive for success! I adapt to any custom goals that my students want to reach as well as giving you the tools that you need to reach those goals! I look forward to working with you soon! :)

My experience and education in film scoring (composing music for film) in Berklee College of Music requires not only a deep. understanding of theory, but also the ability to apply these skills to create something innovative in a fast-paced environment. As a highly flexible, intuitive and quick-thinking person, I am able to adjust my teachings based on what my students need AND want.

I have taught and had success with many different students at many different levels. My lessons are about finding your BEST voice, no matter what level you are at.
