After years of playing with some of the best musicians on the planet, as well as learning from the great masters of the past, giving clinics and guiding countless students through their musical paths, I've built gradual methods of internalizing rhythm and movement that are meant to not only help the student learn that which they're pursuing in the most efficient way possible, but inspire them along the way -- cultivating their passion and encouraging them to engage with the material with the type of fascination and curiosity that brings about the best student they can be.
Touring drummer, educator, multi-instrumentalist, clinician and composer, collaborated with artists such as Avishai Cohen, Pat Metheny, John Patitucci and others, teaching private lessons in Brooklyn.
The methods of internalizing rhythm I've developed are intended at providing the student with an inspiring, musical approach to their practice, so as to become the best drummers they could be. The material is built for ALL LEVELS, from the aspiring beginner to the most advanced professional. We will explore the fundamentals of rhythm, movement, coordination, phrasing, and anything else we'd consider to be in-service of the music
I have been playing music for over 25 years and teaching for nearly 20 years. I have been a successful part of Rock Bands, Jazz Bands, Blues Bands, Marching Bands, etc. So, whatever style of music you are interested in or wanting to learn, I can help!
I am currently a working musician with multiple groups in Southern California as well as a working Studio session musician. This helps bring a lot of up to date and "real life" knowledge and skills to every lesson.
On top of that, I have spent the past 10+ years honing my skills for Training, Coaching, and Developing. So, I can promise two things. You will get results and you will have FUN!
I will design your lessons around you and your goals......not mine!
*** Lesson Details *** Ultimately, my goal is to make sure you enjoy yourself and want to keep coming back. In t
hat process I will make sure you get results.
I am laid back and very patient. Two qualities I feel are necessary to be successful in this field.
I design my curriculum for each individual. This is because everyone has their own goals, there own level of ability, and their own needs as far as how to get there.
Locations: 1) If you are located in Orange County, all lessons will be at my studio in Santa Ana.
2.) If you are located in the Southbay or West LA, I will come to your house for lessons.
*** Studio Equipment *** Drumsets, PA system. Amps, Guitars, and Keyboards.
*** Travel Equipment *** I have acoustic guitars, a practice pad, and a djembe. I expect my students to have their own drumsticks and, ideally, their own guitar and practice pad or drumset.
*** Specialties *** I specialize in rock/contemporary & marching band style percussion/drums. I also specialize in folk style guitar and bass.
I teach lessons to any grade/age group. I have an extremely open mind to teaching and music in general, so nothing goes out the door in terms of philosophy, however, I've come to realize that some methods work better than others. That said, I tailor my attention and focus as an educator to the needs of student I'm teaching in front of me. I don't consider the student who just walked out of the lesson or the student who is coming in next. I put my all in the student who is in front of me because I believe time is an essential asset to lessons. Also, every case is so uniquely different in terms of students and I take a good amount of time to calibrate the learning style of every student.
I am passionate instructor who is fueled by seeing success in others. No other feeling is more fulfilling then seeing the growth of another human.
I have been teaching private lessons in my own studio for about 8 years now. I've taught 7 marching bands and currently writing music for some with an emphasis in percussion.
Currently pursuing a degree in Music Business at Northern Illinois University. I've participated in Drum Corp. tours such as Colts Drum & Bugle Corps ('13) and Phantom Regiment ('14-'16), and also marched 5 seasons of WGI with Cavaliers Indoor Percussion.
The drums are the backbone of most music, so you have to be able to feel the groove and stay tight and on top of the beat. I encourage students to pick their favorite songs, and we drum to those while learning proper technique, rudiments, song form, fills, rhythm, different grooves / beats, and anything they want to know about the drums. I have been playing the drums for over sixteen years and have a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the Berklee College of Music. Drums is a beautiful art and form of expression and is just the tip of the iceberg we can tackle called Music.
MUSIC! I think music is the most beautiful thing in the world, so lets take time to learn and play music together. I have been playing the drums for over sixteen years, and been in over fifteen bands in the course of that time. I have a degree in Music from the Berklee College of Music were I studied music theory and focused on Music Production and Engineering. I have been playing Piano, Bass, and Guitar for about ten years in addition to the drums, and have been recorded in sessions on each. I have a deep passion for synthesizers and electronic music, so lets make some bleeps and bloops together.
I am extremely kind, friendly, and funny so lessons with me are very relaxed and have an easy to learn environment. However I am very passionate about teaching to fit student needs; so if a student likes deadlines and homework, if that is w
hat will help them learn the best, then that is how I will teach. Lets make some sweet music together!! ~Eric
Eric is super nice, helpful, and the best part is he didn't laugh too hard when he heard me sing on the recording we were working with! He always works at my pace and is super easy to communicate with. Thanks brother!
I've been playing drums since I was 8 years old, and I've been teaching regularly since 14. I love everything drums/percussion related and I really want to share everything I've learned at a reasonable price so others can experience the same joy that I know I do.
I'm the oldest of 6 boys and have a lot experience working with kids. My approach to teaching values having fun over anything, this is music after all.
I want to share the tools of drumming at a reasonable price so you too can experience the joy and fruits of music.

My goal as a teacher is to maintain the enthusiasm students enjoy when they begin drum lessons. Every student hopes that beginning drum lessons is the start of an exhilarating and rewarding experience. I sustain this interest by empowering students’ musical improvement and achievement.
Lessons are structured around 8-16 week performance projects and feature a unique teaching method that maximizes each student’s musical capabilities. My approach utilizes video instruction and communication to enhance the traditional lesson format. I also integrate and utilize parents of younger beginning students (8-12) into the lesson curriculum. These methods optimize the student’s practice time between lessons and translate to student success!

If you’ve seen Ed play, then you’ve seen that he is incredibly dedicated to detail and precision. These qualities translate to how he explains concepts and teaches. I attribute so much of the success I’ve achieved on the drum set to what Ed has provided for me.

Ed, I would like to thank you, and commend you for the dedication and superior training you provided to my son, Sterling. Sterling joined your studio young and lacking confidence in his drumming. You had great enthusiasm to keep him inspired and motivated yet, held him accountable to reach your expectations. He gained incredible strides working with you in all aspects of percussion!!! Also, you were a strong, respected leader resident teaching the students at The Denver School of the Arts. I would highly refer you to anyone seeking a quality, talented and over all good person who truly cares about his students to join your drumming studio.
I curtail each lesson to the Students needs no matter what level to go at their pace, and yet give them the tools necessary to improve proficiently and quickly. I enjoy sharing my experience and knowledge with drummers of all backgrounds and experience level, and take immense pride in watching my students grow and improve in their craft!
