I tried to teach guitar in the same manner in which I teach every instrument. First I teach students the rudiments of the instrument. Also I teach them how to read and a bit of music theory. From that point I like to follow the students lead. They bring in songs that they would like to learn, or possibly how to play lead guitar, or how to finger pick. At every point I try to point out general aspects of music that need to be learned from the material that they choose.

If you want to get started with guitar, I'm the one you've been looking for. I'll get you started with basic theory, then I'll gradually move on to more advanced topics. I have a good background in this subject. I've actually taught this subject to a student who already had seven years experience; he didn't know how to put chords together in the right way. Guitar can be fun!
About Larry
First off, I want to mention something that potential Philadelphian students should be aware of. I can only go to certain sections of the city, and I can only give you lessons on weekday afternoons between 12-2pm. Sorry, no evening classes. I'll need time to travel between New Jersey and Pennsylvani
