Outstanding start.
Gina
While I had previous experience playing an instrument MANY years ago, I never played the piano and started taking lessons with Lori as an adult. In almost no time I was able to read the bass clef (left hand) notes and within the year I had learned all the scales (majors and relative minors - both harmonic and melodic) and arpeggios (root and inversions). I was also playing "real" pieces of music.

Lori stresses good technique and good practice habits and can suggest more than one way to master a concept. She also makes learning the piano fun.

I've taken guitar lessons from a few teachers and Dan is the best fit I've ever had. He is very patient and does a fantastic job of tailoring lessons to individual needs. He clearly loves to play music and is very thoughtful about how he shares this knowledge in his lessons. He never fails to encourage me as a guitar player and reinforces a 'can do' attitude. His positive and calm demeanor also make for a fantastic instructor. Thank you, Dan.

First lesson was a great experience for my kids. They are practicing on their own!!! I could tell they couldn't wait for their next lesson. Thank you Dan!!!

I have been performing and teaching lessons as my full time career for over 15 years.

I teach ages 7 through adult, beginners through advanced, and enjoy customizing each student's lessons according to their own goals. I mostly teach and perform classical music, but also incorporate other styles of music into lessons at the student's request.

Lessons often incorporate aspects of mindfulness, meditation, and body awareness practices, and I believe in giving students a strong foundation in ear training, improvisation, and music theory.

I'm an adult who is finally getting around to learning the flute (it's always been on my bucket list). I had my first lesson with Emily yesterday and it was great - exactly what I was looking for. Emily is gracious and encouraging. By the end of the session, we even played a duet! So fun.
Jonathan
Emily has been quite helpful in helping me explore my direction in flute-playing--a good mix of 'working with' and guiding me; quite observant about where I go astray, yet encouraging and ease-making.
Barbara H.
Emily is very clear, cheerful, supportive and encouraging! So impressed at how quickly she got me feeling confident. Left my first lesson feeling excited to go forward and clear idea about how to practice. Can't wait for our next lesson!

"Initially, I received the quintessential guitar lessons, complete with classical guitar exercises. I then developed an affinity for classical guitar, but I couldn’t journey further into the style because my training was limited. I can happily say that I have not only been able to overcome my plateau but also found the teacher who can shape me into the guitarist I aspire to be. I’m being taught via video chat but the lessons are nothing short of insightful. Your dedication as a student with Jaxon will take you far. Take the first lesson and you’ll see!"

"My 12-year old son has been learning classical guitar and piano with Remi for over a year since we moved to the Jacksonville area. Thanks to Remi's instruction, my son's music proficiency has improved greatly. We are so glad that we found him.
Remi definitely is a music virtuoso. Not every great musician is a good music teacher, but Remi deserves both titles."

"Hunter is clearly an experienced actor, knows how actors work best and how to get actors to bring out their very best work. She gives you just the right mix of adjustments and encouragement to really find the character for yourself and make it your own. She is always willing to go the extra mile and makes sure that you really “get” the scene. I feel so grounded and 100% prepped after every coaching session with her. I am a much better actor today because of the work we have done. #sograteful! She really is the best!"

"Omar is just the best. Even when I've not practiced as much as I should between lessons I always make sure to go, because he always has so much to teach and I always leave feeling uplifted and excited about music. Omar never makes you feel stupid for asking "stupid" questions, and incorporates a range of methods to make the lessons meaningful. I never thought I'd be able to improvise a blues riff after just a few lessons with him playing backup drums! Omar thinks outside the box and is so adaptable to your needs. He showed me a "bass" he made out of a cast-off guitar with weed-whacker filament as strings for a client with very limited hand motion. Book a lesson with Omar; you won't regret it!"

Lace Up: How to Train Your Voice Like an Athlete

Singers, you’re more like an athlete than you might think. Sound crazy? Here, Los Angeles voice teacher Lorna E. shows how you can train your voice with that in mind… Have you ever thought of signing up for a marathon if you’re the type that gets tired running for five minutes? I’d say most people wouldn’t take a chance like that. Many singers, though, believe that they are ready to perform for hours in gigs or rehearsals even without any previous vocal technique endurance. Asking …
