As a vocalist trained in Classical, Jazz, and popular styles of music, I have come to understand that the art of singing is inherently a highly emotional, physical and intellectual experience. With precise discipline, motivation and perseverance, music can seemingly fall into place. When these elements are united in preparation for a performance, the voice becomes free and the possibilities seem endless. My goal as a an artist and teacher is to discover these boundless possibilities for myself and therefore my students.

To best do this, I have adopted an adaptive and collaborative style of teaching. At the start of each semester I assess each student’s unique strengths, goals, and expectations. Once this is done I am able to create a personalized lesson plan that will evolve as each student progresses in his or her training. A focus on instilling the foundational skills of discipline, stamina and creativity in accordance with functional voice technique, results in the growth of ...

Kasey has been working with my daughter for 3 years now. I have watched my daughter gain confidence while making tremendous progress. Kasey is organized, caring and confident in her teaching. My daughter respects Kasey and enjoys going to her weekly lessons. I highly recommend Kasey as a voice teacher

Kasey is a wonderful teacher. Before taking lessons with Kasey I had to stop singing for more than 5 years due to illness. She was amazing at safely bringing me back to vocal health. I am now able to sing light opera and folk songs even better than I used to. I am impressed with her level of knowledge and she really motivates me to work hard at my craft. She is truly the best teacher that I have ever had and would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to be the best singer that they can be.

I focus on building the vocalist as a performer in addition to building the voice as a instrument itself. Working on stretching the vocalist range at least three octaves would be the mission but it is in my methodology to focus on what the vocalist wants to achieve from the lessons.

I am a professional musical theatre performer who has been working primarily in Chicago for the past 10 years. I have had the pleasure of working with companies such as The Metro, Northlight Theatre, Walt Disney World, Provision, Fox Valley Rep, Boho, First Folio Theatre, and have even had the honor of working with Stephen Schwartz. In addition, I have also had callbacks for Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, The Goodman Theatre, Theatre at the Center, Marriott Theatre, The Evil Dead Musical National Tour and The Rock of Ages National Tour. (When I improve my dance ability - I hope to add some of these theatres to my resume) :) During lessons I will focus on giving you a customized lesson plan specifically designed to enhance your instrument and talents. Because of this, I prefer not to accompany on the piano during lessons as it takes my focus off of you. Whether you want to learn how to belt like Beyonce, or hit beautiful high notes like Christina. I can help. Experienced ...

Monica has been working with my 10 year old daughter over the past year to help prepare her for musical vocal performances. My daughter is quite picky and introverted and simply LOVES her voice lessons with Monica! In addition to vocal technique and hygiene, they discuss and practice telling a story and dissect the emotions behind the song. Monica is so warm, positive, engaged, and can make anyone feel comfortable, seen, understood, and more confident in their performing ability. The hour lesson flies by for my daughter and Monica makes her feel special to boot!

I took my first lesson with Monica and everything was great. I have a lot to learn, and I think she is giving me the proper foundation so that I can eventually become a decent singer.

My daughter loved it! She is looking forward to continuing to work with Monica.

Darren is an incredible acting Coach. I couldn’t recommend him higher. He goes so above and beyond with his time, his care and investment in you as an actor, his amazing guidance and how to truly delve deep into a character and a scene. Before I started taking with him, I was ok as an actor. Once I started working with him, I started getting callbacks and booking jobs and really started to grow and reach my full potential as an actor and I began to feel very confident about my abilities. If you take lessons with him, you will be so happy you did!!

It was such a pleasure to have my daughter working with Darren. He instilled confidence in her, taught her how to prepare herself to be an actor, and provided her with opportunities to show off her craft. THANK YOU! Darren for your time, help and support of our budding angel!! You are The Best.
Steven
I initially started with Darren in Orlando in 1990. Being a talent manager I wanted to understand acting better to better help my clients needs. After a few lessons I had learned so much that I required my entire client stable of about 25 people to take his class. He had to add an additional night to handle my people. In a couple weeks I saw incredible growth. In a few months I had the best acting stable in Orlando. My people were working.

Darren is one of the most talented actors and teachers I’ve ever come across. But he’s not the coach for someone who takes it lightly. He’ll work your butt off.

"Victoria is an enthusiastic, encouraging, and very knowledgeable vocal instructor. After meeting Victoria at one of her seminars, I knew I had to get private lessons with her. Her refreshing take on teaching really resonated with me and was the encouragement that I needed. I’m recovering from a surgery that left my vocals very vulnerable and tight, and Victoria has guided me to a healthy way of using my voice. "I highly recommend Adam as a voice teacher.
My 10 year old daughter Spencer has been wanting to take a lesson for so long she's always singing Disney songs around the house, and finally I thought, why not give it a go.
When I first met Adam his smile was infectious, and I could already tell he knew what he was doing, and this was the right choice.
He sat down at the piano we have at home, and began doing scale work, within minutes time, I could already see that Emily was already enjoying the lesson.
They worked learning "For the First Time In Forever" together, and Emily now sings both parts, and very well/on pitch might I add.
Spencer takes lessons from Adam bi weekly, and is always anxious for him to come and share his knowledge with her.
I couldn't recommend him enough!"

Truth or Myth? The Reality Behind 6 Common Tips for Singers

There are so many tips for singers out there -- but did you know some of them may not be actually true? Here, Ann Arbor, MI voice teacher Elaina R. dispels some of the common myths about singing...   “It’s bad luck to say ‘Good Luck’ before a performance.” “Don’t eat chocolate! It clogs your vocal cords.” “A bad dress rehearsal leads to a good show.” We singers toss around myths more than most. It’s important, however, to recognize which ones are just for fun …
