My background in music theory makes me capable of tutoring students in a wide range of music theory subjects. Through my extensive studies, I have learned about music theory and its history dating back to the Renaissance era (c. 1400s). My Music Theory Minor from Northwestern University has given me the opportunity to study music theory in many different contexts beginning with simple Roman numeral chord analysis and delving as deep as composing small four-voice fugues. A student who studies theory with me can expect to become an expert at music analysis, beginning with species counterpoint and continuing from there based on the student's subject interests. I am able to personalize the learning materials of each of my students by using different musical examples that I have studied over the fourteen theory courses I have taken so far. I took the AP Music Theory class in high school and received a 5 on the exam and am also able to help tutor students who wish to pass the test.

David is both a professional musician and an experienced instructor, and you can tell the difference that makes in every class.
We started with at-home classes, but switched to online during the pandemic and that's working pretty good for me to.
I'd recommend David to anyone looking to learn a new instrument, get better at it or expand their music knowledge in general."

Ahmad makes you feel comfortable and really understands the way that people learn and how to teach in the most effective way. The guitar is a tough instrument to learn and you want to learn from someone knowledgeable and patient and that's exactly what Ahmad is."

David is a great tutor and teacher! He helped me to understand the basic fundamentals of music theory and how to develop the skills to be able to practice it at home. He gave me really good tips that were easy to understand and fun to learn. If you really want to learn how to compose, write and read music go to David!!"
