Terrible. Only taught 30 minutes out of 60 minute sessions. On the 3 session I mentioned it and he said he didn’t think my son needed more than that even though we paid for it. Was so disrespectful!!!! Never again!!! Highly unprofessional when asked about why he cut the lessons short. Please don’t leave your kids with this instructor work paying attention. He will get over on you if he thinks you’re not involved.

I use many methods including Suzuki, Kodaly and traditional teachings that include catered practice plans in order to accommodate each student's learning needs. I am very flexible and more than happy to discuss teaching methods and/or special needs with parents and students.

About Alethia

Growing up I was raised in a home full of music. My father, a graduate of the Conservatorio Nacional Superior de Musica (National conservatory of Superior Music) played piano day and night and from there my love for music blossomed. My first experience with music was at the age of 8 when I began to

Alethia is great. She is working with my 7 yr. old daughter as a beginner in violin. She teaches in a way that is fun, appropriate, and respectful. My daughter has already learned so much and looks forward to her lessons with Alethia each week.

Alethia is very knowledgeable about technique and skilled at teaching.
Mark N.
Alethia is a very talented teacher and violinist. She is extremely professional, attentive and accommodating to her students needs/goals. As an older student with no musical background, she has made the violin less intimidating and more accessible by breaking it down and making it less complex and easier to understand. While, I've only been with her a few years, I'm very proud of the progress I've made with her. If you are interested in taking up the violin, I highly recommend her.

I am an adult beginner violinist. When I first met Stephanie, I had barely touched a violin, but I was determined to learn how to play it. With her help and patience, I am progressing through the Suzuki method as well as doing ear training and music theory. Stephanie is an excellent musician as well as instructor! Her method of teaching keeps the students engaged, encouraged and excited about learning music from all sides of it.

I strongly recommend Ms. Quinn. She is amazing. I love a teacher who is passionate about what she does and Ms. Quinn has motivated me to love the violin and work harder to improve. She is slightly strict but very patience and kind, always pushing you to work hard and do your best. I learned to play violin a few years ago as a beginner and stopped playing for a few years. I was nervous to begin online violin lessons considering that I learn better face to face. However, Ms. Quinn has done an amazing job at teaching me, I have been taking lessons with her for a year now and have learned so much I didn’t know before which has also grown my love for violin.
Hui F.
Stephanie helped my younger one prepare for competition. She was highly skillful, supportive yet strict. Initially, my girl was a bit nervous to work with Stephanie because of her high reputation. Stephanie was very kind and fun, using metaphors to help my 10-year old understand the music. She not only helped my child overcome barriers to master the music piece but also shared much practical advice for competition. We did not expect this but my 10-year old won the first prize and was invited to perform in Carnegie Hall New York. Highly recommend Stephanie!!!

"Alyssa is a patient and kind teacher. She has experience not just as an teacher/student but as a writer/composer too. Her connection to the violin challenges me to do better and try harder, but somehow still makes the classes fun! I've found learning from her to be very rewarding (I'm finally checking off that new year's resolution to learn the violin!) but if it weren't for her great attitude and patient demeanor I would be lost. I'm only on my third class, can't wait for more."

I have been taking violin lessons now for 6 months with Dr. Dimitri Olevsky, having switched to Dimitri after having had a mediocre experience with my previous teacher. Wow…what a difference. What's the Best Violin for Fiddle Playing?

When someone decides to learn to play an instrument, one of the first things to do is to look into buying the instrument. This process varies depending on the instrument, and is especially unique when it comes to buying violins, or fiddles. Many instruments are mass produced in factories, producing batches that all sound the same. On the contrary, fiddles are not usually built this way.  The best sounding ones are handmade, and therefore, all unique.  When musicians are looking to buy a …

Poor posture can be a result of many things, such as sitting or standing without interruption for long periods of time, lack …
