About Kim
For creative people and makers, crafting is like going to the gym. You will find great fulfillment and a sense of accomplishment if you set aside time on a regular basis to nurture this very important part of what makes you who you are. Think of me like a personal trainer. I will encourage and inspire you while you develop your skills and express yourself through a variety of textile based media.

Private and group lessons or classes are provided in locations around the NYC area, in my space or via webcam. My focus is on providing an entertaining, relaxing and enjoyable experience as you learn a leisure time activity. I am extremely patient and detail oriented. When you let me know what you would like to learn or make, I will guide you through everything from selecting materials to fine tuning your technique. Take a lesson with me to fi
nd out why my students love me.

Teaching is a wonderful extension of my work as a professional crochet and knit designer and technical editor. A web search will reveal some of my published work over the last decade. As a craft teacher in the NYC area for over 8 years, I have worked with individuals, groups and classes of all ages and skill levels. Most of my experience focuses on working with older adults and people with special needs. Minors must have a supervising adult present. I do not work with groups of young children.

I have studied the history and mastered the skills to make and teach a vast variety of textile techniques. Please see my experience.

If you are using this site without the assistance of a TL Rep, I recommend the schedule as you go option. I often have openings in my calendar sooner than the site allows. After we make contact, we can choose the best date and time.

*** Lesson Details ***
Please let me know what you would like to learn or make before your lesson so that we may be fully prepared with any materials, tools, equipment, books or handouts. Students are expected to provide all their own tools and materials unless other arrangements are made.

Recommended duration for in-person lessons is 90 minutes. A surcharge may be added for travel outside of areas accessible by one MTA fare or expected travel time exceeding 90 minutes.

*** Specialties ***
Textile based crafts including crochet, knitting, embroidery, sewing, patchwork, plastic canvas, needlepoint, counted cross stitch, bobbin lace, historic textile and costume conservation and storage, and more.

I also love to research and develop craft projects for classes or master techniques students would like to learn.

Very attentive instructor. Good explanation. I was surprised how good she was at picking up my form even over the webcam and correcting it when needed. Very production lesson. Will be booking another session soon.

About Siddharth
Hi there, my name is Siddharth and I have been teaching chess in public and private schools, including private lessons, over the last three years.

I love to see students grow with each lesson and accomplish their goals. Under my tutelage, I have helped students advance from beginner level to tournament level competition. Recently, two of my students have won in their respective tournaments.

I attended De Monte Fort University in England and earned my degree in Textile Technology and Business Management in 1976. Since then I have been fortunate to be able to travel worldwide.

I enjoy teaching children of all ages, as well as adults. My philosophy is to make chess a fun experience while improving my students' technical skills.

I look forward to helping you reach your goals.

I am truly enjoying learning how to sew with Rosemary as my teacher. So far, I have seen a blouse and a skirt that I need to add finishing touches on. I am going to sign up for more lessons. I want to perfect the art of sewing.

I'm a pretty laid back easy going guy. If you want to learn a variety of things, check out my subjects and I'd be happy to help you.

I have quite a bit of life knowledge and experience that I'm willing to share. I see myself as more of a tutor, helping students along the path to get better grades and understand their subject material better.

Some things to expect during a lesson: We will go over the material and find any areas you are struggling with. We will hone in on those areas and get to the root of the issue, then build you up so that you have a solid base of understanding and can grow from there.

I hope we can partner to enhance your education and knowledge.

About Adriana
Hello there! I’m Adriana! I’m a Professional Hip Hop/Urban Freestyle Dancer and Creative Influencer— while having a very unique approach to fuse meditation within my teaching. Although I went to college for International Business, I found that Dancing was what made my soul sing! I took that passion and made something out of it, and every since then I have been able to Work with variety of different artis in the Maryland, DC, and Virgina areas.

I will admit that I didn’t go to your traditional preforming arts school, but I learned through a variety of professionals in array of dance styles. I can proudly say that I taught myself how to freestyle, which is one the hardest things to do as a dancer. I then took my dance up a notch and added more to the visuals by adding jewelry and fashion. With this addtion under to my belt, I’ve been
able to truly display my full essences of myself in music videos, and project with different artist all over the world.

Students of mine can expect to learn more than just dancing but also learn to freestyle while incorporating fundamental techniques, and be able to allow dance to be a catalysts to build stronger confidence; While also developing a balance of the mind to enhance peace/happiness in ones life through dance meditation, and being able to express all thoughts fully through the body. I’ve learned that Dance can offer so much— you just have to be a little creative and my goal is to help you unlock your creative potential.

I’ve taught a variety of privates lessons, group classes, and summer camps. I’ve taught ages ranging from ages 3 and up. All I need is your time and determination to help achieve you goals!
