The teacher is very nice to the student, helps the student in different ways, and explains problem so the student understands their mistake.
Charley
Meagan is very flexible and is a great teacher. She doesn't make the student feel self-conscious about answering wrong, She gently asks the student to explain how they came up with the answer and allows them to correct themselves. If the student doesn't realize their error during the explanation, she explains to the student wherein the equation they made an error. She also repeats the problem areas with the student until they have a full understanding of the process.

I sought Meagan out after my daughter came home with a failing grade in Algebra I. I am very happy with my selection, she is the perfect fit for my daughter. She is very flexible and I appreciate that she doesn't make my daughter feel like her lack of understanding of the subject matter makes her inadequate. I am going to continue hiring Meagan for the duration of the school year, my daughter really likes her and is learning far more than she is from her regular classroom environment.

She's great!

"My son had to take the ACT for grad school and did not have enough time to prepare thoroughly. Bill was able to clarify all the majority of my son's questions and drilled on particular questions that gave him trouble. The preparation genuinely helped as my son received a 33 overall on the ACT."

"Marta is the reason I graduated High School. The amount of effort she put into helping me graduate really showed me the power of having a good teacher. By giving her students the right tools and the right space to do their work and really understand their subjects allowed many kids in my school to graduate with their diplomas. For her I will be forever grateful. Oh! She also made biology and history fun!"

"Jenni has an incredible depth of knowledge of both Latin and Greek, reflecting not only her years of experience with both languages, but also a very concerted effort to think about the best way to teach these languages.

This became very apparent when I approached her to help me in what I felt would be a near impossible task: to learn a semester's worth of Ancient Greek in one month, starting from scratch.

Her clarity of explanation, her command of the material, and her professionalism as a tutor and teacher all made that possible, to the point where when I actually showed up to class, I actually found myself ahead of where everybody else was. I had mastered the material so well thanks to her efforts, that on the first test, I achieved a 104% (even got the extra credit mark), much to the impressed amazement of my new professor.

So when I give her this solid review of her skills, it is not to her as a tutor, or even a teacher. It is to her as a professional. Which is what she is in every sense of the word, as an educator, an admirer, and a bonafide inhabitant of the world of classical languages."

What Types of Creative Writing Prompts Work Best for Kids?

Kids who love to write may be off and running once the pen hits their hand, but other children might not feel comfortable writing unless given a few creative writing prompts. Creative prompts encourage imagination and provide a jumping off point for journal entries and stories. Even children who love to write may find it easier to work from a prompt because it gives them an area of focus - and it's fun! As a parent, one of the best ways to encourage your child's love of the written word is to pr …
