I really enjoy statistics and actually wanted to minor in it in college, but didn't end up doing so. I had a great teacher in high school and earned a 5 on the AP exam. I also have experience tutoring it at the college level at NWFSC.

I tutored student-athletes in college while earning my BS in microbiology with minors in chemistry and Spanish. After graduation, I tutored at a state college working with high school and college students. I have also privately tutored students of all ages and levels. I earned my MS in biomedical science and was a substitute teacher. I have experience as a middle school science teacher in OCPS.

I enjoy the learning process and the interaction between instructor and student, working together to solve problems and figure out concepts that were not clear before.

I have done well in history and English, but I feel more comfortable tutoring in algebra, chemistry, biology, statistics, and Spanish.

After graduating high school at the top of my class, I got full funding for an economics degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where I was born. I was very busy in college--my extracurriculars included 2 semesters abroad (Spain, Singapore), writing an honors thesis, being a consultant to the academic advising office, and being president of an honor society; besides this I worked my butt off in classes and graduated with a 3.7.

I am in New York City (Astoria and beyond) until at least the end of April 2018 substitute teaching for NYC and tutoring on weekends. I might go on spring break while school it out from March 30 to April 6 but will be available online no matter where I am physically.

I graduated with a 3.8 GPA from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a degree in Chemistry. I was one of ten nominees for valedictorian of my graduating college class of 4,000 and inducted into the phi beta kappa college honor society.

I am not a genius or have unusual intelligence but have mastered the tricks of test taking and the need to understand the rationale behind the math formula or scientific principal and stress this in my tutoring techniques. It is critically important for students to learn the tactics of test taking in the pr

I received an "A" in statistics 1 at Wright - Patterson Air Force Base and an "A" in statistics 2 at Northwest Florida State college both while working for the Air Force as a price analyst.

I worked in the corporate world until quitting in 2000 to pursue careers as an entrepreneur and inventor. I learned statistics the hard way and I wish for no other student to make the same mistakes I did. By my 5th teacher did I learn how simple statistics was and all the possibilities I could use in this branch of mathematics for personal gain. I can break down statistics into easily digestible segments that will stick. I teach both qualitative and quantitative statistics.

Hello! My name is Andrea and my passion is math. It took a long time for me to realize math was my bread and butter but I am glad that I did! I can tutor/teach basic math skills to advanced calculas, statistics and differential equations. I use math everyday be it at work or at home and I wish for every student to learn that math plays an intricate role in all our lives. AND math is a fun subject!

As for history. Give me a good story and it is probably based on real life events. Our favorite books, movies, and tv shows all are all linked to a past event that influences the present idea. 2) Academic Confidence – I’m always surprised by the number of students that I work with who honestly believe they aren’t smart or capable enough to succeed in school. So, part of my job as a tutor is to help those students understand that hard work and confidence are the key to success, so matter how difficult they find the work initially.

3) Love of Learning – This is perhaps the most important element to me. My favorite teachers were not the ones who managed to cram the most amount of information in my head, but those who helped me be excited about the subjects they taught. As a tutor, I work with students to develop excitement about the subject matter and a love of learning more generally.

Finally, here’s a bit more information about me. Currently, I'm a public health researcher at a large non-profit, and specialize in systematic reviews and project evaluation. I studied Sociology and Public Policy at UNC Chapel Hill. I graduated summa cum laude and received a Chancellor's award for excellence in my field of study. Josh was a very patient and a hands on tutor. He took time to get to know each student in order to better assist them personally. He had good boundaries with the students and was able to stay professional while being able to have fun with them. We saw personal gains based on the VA SOL test scores at the end of the school year after his assistance.

Both of my sons went from F’s to B’s with Josh’s help. We had all pretty much given up that they would be able to get good grades in math. We were just hoping Josh could get them to pass. We can’t say enough about Josh’s clear, understandable and relevant guidance. Yes, they got great grades, but he also made them feel confident in their abilities to do the work. He is wonderful!

When I was in high school, I realized that I really love to teach. Simply passing on knowledge to another peer feels absolutely amazing because it shows that you really know the information. I am hoping that I will be able to get you to that point after helping you learn the material. I graduated as the valedictorian of my high school and received admissions to many prestigious schools around the country, but due to financial reasons I decided to attend a school where I could support myself.
