I coach all levels of actors. I want you to explore what it's like to experience the unbelievable amount of satisfaction you can have by allowing yourself to study acting and music. I teach from a method base and will work on monologues, scenes and audition materials, collaborating with you on what it is you need to understand how we go about doing this thing called acting. I can work virtually. One thing you must know about me, I am really nice. I won't crush your dreams. I will, however, make sure you attain them. I can come to you or you can meet me where I teach. I am in SF and Los Angeles. I successfully work virtually with many people. If you want to act, we can make it happen.
Examples of the roles my actors have booked include, the Hulu hit, Chance, HBO's, Thirteen Reasons Why, Looking, Woody Allen's, Blue Jasmine, Touching Home, starring Ed Harris and Generations, to name a few. Theatrical productions including Theatreworks, Pride and Prejudice, Berkeley Repertory's, Hand to God, and there are many more in each of these categories and countless commercials. (Nationals and Regionals) and most have landed agents. They are all either in SAGAFTRA and Actors Equity or their way to becoming part of our performers unions.
I strive to collaborate with my artists to make sure they are out working in the industry. And they are.
I work in the San Francisco Bay Area, LA and Online. I am available to travel. I offer artistic and industry assistance at no additional charge. When you study acting / singing performance w/ me you'll also learn about the BUSINESS OF SHOW BUSINESS.
We will work on technique, audition technique, monologues, scene work, as well study all aspects of acting and singing performance in order to prepare you for where you want to be as an artist.

They are definitely the most difficult and nerve wracking part of being an actor or singer, right? Booking work means your audition has to be as good as opening night.
Auditioning is about preparation and preparation takes consistent support. Look, showbiz is not a business about being alone. Artists thrive when working together. We are a collaborative bunch and collaborating to make sure you're ready and organized for your auditions makes sense.
Stop trying to muscle through this necessary step alone. No one who works consistently does that! They ask for help. ASK FOR HELP!!

Kathryn is a member of the Sag-Aftra and Actors Equity and BMI and is a Critics Circle Award Winner.
Kathryn has worked with such legends as Tennessee Ernie Ford, Ben Vereen, Word Baker, who directed the first a one-act version of “The Fantastics” and then the historic two-act show, Sandy Duncan, Loretta Lynn, Flip Wilson. She studied at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and HB Studio in New York City.

His true passion, however, lies in directing where he has forged an extensive career over the last 19 years. He believes in a collaborative effort to reach honest and true performances. In 2000 he headed workshops and directed theatre for younger audiences with MicheLee Puppets in Orlando, FL. THEY'RE JUST WORDS. Some of the greatest stage classics in the English-speaking world are by Shakespeare. His characters are some of the richest and most challenging you will ever play.
He tells stories of love, revenge, stories, dramas, there's even Shakespeare sit-com. The language can be intimidating, but it's just people talking. That's how they talked in Shakespeare's day. Learn how to demystify the language and present it so your audience can follow it.
Voice – Anyone can sing. If you want to and have always thought you couldn't, you will be delighted when I prove you wrong. Training for the voice is pretty much the same, whatever style you are interested in. Then I'll coach you in your chosen style and we'll pick songs you like.
Singing beautifully is not enough. I can't tell you how many times I heard in grad school "beautiful voices are a dime a dozen." I will teach you how to OWN the song. That's what keeps people coming back.

Shakespeare is nothing to fear and everything to love. With all kinds of fun exercises we learn all the ways in which you can make Shakespeares work your own!
Although splitting my time between NY and Hawaii I still promise to my acting students you WILL book work. I will teach you the nuts and bolts of it all and then help you book bigger and better jobs as we work. You will have some homework as you must work hard to join this industry!

30 years of experience in theatre, television, commercials, voice overs and Indie films. I started coaching other actors in 2014, focusing on techniques for on-camera acting and film audition coaching. I approach acting work in a naturalistic way. I begin with what the student brings to the table and then layer the individual with perspectives and experience that helps create a fully embodied character. I create unique specificity that is beautiful to watch on film or stage.
I have a Masters degree in Acting and have trained with some of the very best in the industry. I don't rely on any one technique or 'method', but rather combine all of my teaching and experience to fit what works best for each individual.
