Chelsea is a tremendous teacher, with sympathy and patience for my absurd schedule and difficulty reading music.

I had a really great time and she explained so much to me that I wasn't really clear on.

I needed last minute coaching for an upcoming audition and was feeling unprepared and frazzled. Chelsea easily knew what I needed. She made recommendations, was wonderfully engaging, and her insight and ear highlighted some important tweaks that I would have overlooked in my haste to prepare. After just one session I felt clearer, calmer, and considerably more confident. Bonus: Chelsea is incredibly kind, fun to work with and makes you feel you already know one another. Chelsea has my highest recommendation

I've been teaching piano for over 13 years. I use Alfred's Premier Piano Courses levels 1 - 6 for children. For adults I use Alfred's Lesson Book 1 - 3. My teaching goals for all my students are to enable them to read and make music so that they could experience the joy of journeying in the realm of musical sounds.
My philosophy in teaching piano is very much like learning to drive a car. Once a person learns the mechanism of driving so many possibilities open for the person to enjoy trips to many places that bring pleasures that destiny could offer. In some ways, playing the piano is very much like learning to drive a car. Once the mechanism of making music is mastered, the possibilities of making journeys of musical sound is endless.

"My trip to San Francisco was highlighted by my time at the piano with Charlotte. I chose early morning lessons to get the day started! Charlotte is a great teacher, our lessons were so productive, and they never seemed to last long enough, especially the last one, the hour went to quickly! She has her own unique way to keep you moving through the material and keep you motivated and rewarded with subtle progression. Lessons with Charlotte would be my main reason for returning to SFO on the next trip from HKG!!! Thanks Charlotte!!!"
