R. ROBIN G.

Cuyahoga Falls, OH

About R. ROBIN

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in teaching what the student has a desire to learn and great technique combined with a lot of music theory, for those taking piano and/or composition lessons with me. For piano lessons, I do require the student having 24-hour access to a piano or keyboard. It's nice to have an 88-key, weighted key digital piano or keyboard. If you don't have an 88 key instrument, you want to strive for that. I prefer the student own a 'real' piano, if possible.

Aaron is a talented instructor. He has worked with our son for more than 2 years teaching him cello and music theory. Aaron has the gift of being an outstanding musician, but also the gift of being able to impart that knowledge to others in a meaningful way, such that even young children and teens learn easily from his instruction. We have recommended Aaron to others and he is equally as good with adults. His manner is professional, he takes pride in the accomplishments of his students and is dedicated to the success of his students.

Danae A.

Kent, OH

About Danae

I believe that over time, with dedication to practicing and properly structured lessons, students can become great musicians. I've seen this again and again in the 10 years since I started teaching, and I absolutely love watching young musicians grow under my guidance.

For me, teaching is a way of giving back. I am indebted to Bryan Dumm, (Cleveland Orchestra), Heidi Albert, (College of Wooster), Keith Robinson, (Kent State University), and many other well known musicians. These great teachers have taught me that good practice skills pay off in the end. Good technique makes you a better pl
ayer. Also, the right focus and motivation will help you to grow, not only as a musician, but also as a person.

I provide properly structured lessons. I push my students hard to practice regularly, but it's ultimately up to the parents and the students to ensure this happens. Music provides kids with discipline, and it works the creative and analytical sides of the brain at the same time. How cool is that!

Danae has been a wonderful teacher and she has helped me tremendously with my desire to play the cello. A quietly observant instructor has a way of noticing the roadblocks and suggesting the subtle changes that can help you through them. Danae has that quality and her experience as well as her ability to pass that experience along has been key to my progress. I truly appreciate her talent and her patience.

I just had my first guitar lesson with Rob today and let me tell you this guy has all the makings of a fantastic instructor! Let me give you a quick rundown on what impressed me the most: Unlike other guitar teachers I have had Rob had a lesson plan prepared when I arrived. As soon as I signed up he contacted me and asked precisely what I wanted to learn during our lessons. I emailed him my answer and today he was actually ready and prepared with a lesson plan! My other instructors would take up my valuable lesson time scribbling down tab that they "made up" on the spot during the lesson while I watched my 30 minutes tick away. Rob was also friendly, enthusiastic and has really made me feel confident about my learning exactly what I want to learn! So far he gets a big thumbs up from yours truly. Now it's my turn to do my part....PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! Thanks, Rob for a great first lesson!!
