Ms. Robin comes highly recommended by my daughter and I. She made the lessons "fun" for an 9 year old! She also let my daughter select her own songs which I thought was a plus ... students are much more engaged if they are singing something they like to sing. Ms. Robin is an enthusiastic teacher and motivates her students to do their best. She also uses vocalization exercises to encourage a better "range" before singing an actual song. My daughter always looked forward to going to Ms. Robin's lesson and I stayed for each lesson and was quite pleased with my daughter's progress.

Robin has been an excellent fit for my daughter(age 15). She has been very flexible with my daughter's rehearsal schedule and seems genuinely interested in helping her improve and achieve her goals. My daughter feels comfortable working with Robin and looks forward to her lessons. She is excited about continuing lessons and improving her vocal techniques and skill level.

excellent teacher

Maybe a bit premature after only one lesson, but after speaking with Robin at length over the phone, and being present during my son's first lesson, I must say I'm very impressed with her as my son's instructor. She has a vast portfolio of experience in a wide range of music, highly educated, extremely knowledgeable, and good at instruction. I'm especially excited that she incorporates music theory into the lessons. Highly recommended!

About Philip

Guitarist Philip L. was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida where he began his musical studies at a young age. He was accepted to Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, named by the Grammy Foundation as the top performing arts high school in the nation. After high school, Philip received a scholarship to attend Stetson University, under the direction of Dr. Stephen Robinson. After receiving a Bachelor’s of Music, Philip became an instructor at University High School in Orange City, Florida. There he directed the guitar program, which he created from the ground up. Outside of teaching, Philip performed professionally (guitar and voice) around Central Florida in ...

I recommend Phillip as a guitar teacher.

Besides being a very skilled guitarist, Phillip is very professional and reliable. He has a very laid back personality which really worked well for my shy 7-year-old daughter. He was patient and encouraging.

Patrick K. Akron, OH

About Patrick

Thirty years ago, I was approached by a man in a chorus I was coaching. He liked what I did with the chorus and asked if I did private lessons. Although I had studied voice for over 15 years, and had been performing as a singer and actor for nearly 30 years, I had not taught privately before. However, I told him I would teach him and that began a wonderful and fulfilling career. My teaching style is unique in that I teach using a Capella (unaccompanied) techniques almost exclusively. My belief is that we have two ears and one mouth because we need to focus twice as much on critically listening to our singing as we do on mastering great singing techniques. By singing a Capella, your ears will get sharper and your ability to always sing in tune will improve dramatically. I look ...

My Name is Katharina. I am 58 years old and originally from Germany. When I was in the secondary school my music teacher told me that I had a nice voice but my surroundings thought differently. They complained that I was off-key, did not keep a tune and especially was off rhythm. So I shut up my mouth for almost fourty years till by chance I met Patrick. I can't say that I was very relaxed when I came to his first lessons – my self-confidence re singing was on the scale of zero and it took Patrick a while till I started singing with pleasure and deep joy. Patrick showed me how to breath and use my vocal cords. If I didn't understand what to do or how to do it he tried to explain it in different ways and with endless patience and enthuthiasmn.

I do not say that today I am Maria Callas but I am a nice soprano who sings a capella music in a small choir and in an octet. At home even my husband who can be very critical tells me that it is a shame that I didn't take singing lessons when I was small since today I could be a very good singer.

Thank you very much Patrick. You changed a part of my life!!!

Pat was my daughter's voice coach for almost 4 years. She could always keep a tune but needed to learn breathing, support and control. Not only did Pat accomplish this, he also installed confidence and guided her with humour and understanding, and has given her a wonderful platform to continue on her musical journey. Thanks to Pat, she now reaches 3 octaves with strength and ease and transition is incredible. If you are looking for a great voice coach - you need look no further!

I have had dealings with Patrick over the past several years. He was the choir leader of a choir that I participated in, he guided a group of four of us in a female barbershop quartet, and he was my personal voice teacher for over five years. I cannot be too effusive in my praise for Patrick. He is a wonderful teacher: super-professional, encouraging and demanding at the same time. Many people have commented to me how much my singing has improved under his tutelage. I learned how to breathe properly and not lift my shoulders while singing, how to avoid being that "one onion skin" below the note by thinking of singing on top of the note. He taught me how to visualize my singing as though the tones were coming through my eyes. He taught me that lemon juice is a miracle alternative when you're dying to clear your throat! On top of that, Patrick is a funny guy with an optimistic nature that makes it a pleasure to be in his company.. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
