"I am a private student of Sandra’s and have been studying singing with her for two years. I decided to study with Sandra because I know that she has a lo
t of professional experience on stage. I am mainly interested in musical theater, and Sandra has helped me find suitable songs for my voice. She works on breathing and building a solid technique which one can rely on. She has also helped me to develop as an actor, so that I feel completely comfortable with performing. I would highly recommend her."

"I am so glad to have taken lessons with Emily. I was really nervous to start singing lessons since I've never been proud of my voice. It was like singing
in front of a good friend with her, although she still knew when to push me forward. After a few months with her my breathing greatly improved and I can hit notes I couldn't before! I'm no longer so scared to sing in front of people and I never thought I would say that. She also showed me how even little adjustments can make a big change, such as fixing my posture. In addition, I always felt comfortable going to her for all singing advice in between lessons."

"Our son has been taking guitar lessons for about 3 months. We chose Greg because of his expertise, knowledge and ability to teach. Learning to read music
might not always be easy but Greg was able to convey to our son the importance of this skill. Greg has taught my son the beauty of playing the guitar that now is very confident and happy to play . Greg is always reliable, extremely flexible and dependable. am happy to see my son learning new skills. also very happy that Greg is teaching him everything needs to know about playing the guitar. I would highly recommend Greg as an instructor. we are extremely impressed by his abilities and professionalism."

"Beth is a very talented vocal teacher - as a guitar player with no vocal experience Beth helped me find my natural vocal range and taught me to sing on pi
tch in the first lesson. After 2 lessons I am breathing correctly, have the self confidence to sing in public and helped me to become a more versatile musician. We since added my wife as well - we will continue to take lessons from Beth. Anyone serious about improving or learning for the first time would benefit from her knowledge and expertise."

"Steve really helped my nine year old get a good start on guitar. He is patient and very enthusiastic. I recommend him to parents of younger learners for g
Are you looking to sing or play keyboard, work on material for your band, build your repertoire, sing or play in the church choir/band, audition for a production, become a better lead singer in your rock or pop band, overcome stage-fright or wanting to get to the next level? You have come to the right place!
My lessons provide students with an opportunity to deeply explore the voice, build confidence, and to develop healthy and effective singing practices, which can be applied to any style of musical singing and playing.
A well-rounded music education is very important and I have fun an
d educational resources for learning vocal technique, ear training, harmony, pitch matching and music theory.
I am very fortunate to have performed and studied Classical and Opera, musical theater productions, have sang in Rock, Pop, Country, R&B bands and can bring that real-world experience into the lesson. The student will receive real hands-on knowledge about singing in a variety of environments and how to manage his/her vocal goals!
In addition to being vocally healthy, I encourage self-expression and enhance self-esteem in my students: singers of all ages, skill levels and styles. Plus, it has to be fun, otherwise why do it? Singing is a process and less about the end goal and we train the body, mind and use imagination and it's a very exciting process!
***My students regularly receive scholarships and placement in music schools and programs around the U.S., have won competitions, do well in auditions, are performing in successful bands and/or recording artists.
I am energetic and enthusiastic; actively promote values and traditional teaching practices coupled with the introduction of technology into the lesson. My experience as an educator is to share passion and talent for music with the next generation of musicians and outstanding communication skills. I really care about my students and provide the tools to help them reach their goals!
Degrees: Bachelor of Music, minor in Psychology from Michigan State University Master of Vocal Pedagogy from Oakland University
Here is some of my experience as a performer: I have sung Internationally at the renowned Eisteffodd Music Festival in Wales, toured through Britain and performed at the Laupin Agile Cabaret in Paris. I was honored with a nomination to attend the prestigious Yale Cabaret Conference and worked with cabaret legend Julie Wilson and Manhattan Transfer founder Laurel Masse. Sung and performed roles with the Mid-Michigan and Detroit Opera Companies. Performed a production of Sleepwalkers with the Kari Margolis Brown Company at the O'Shaughnessy Theatre. I currently perform all over the Twin Cities with my own R&B/Soul Band, Melody and The Dramatics! Plus, I am a contract vocalist and perform in a variety of other projects, so needless to say, it is all a very awesome ride!
*** Lesson Details *** My laid-back and fun approach allows for versatility and is tailored to meet the needs of the individual student. When studying the art of singing you are gaining skills, which build confidence.
When you understand what you're doing and why, you bring more confidence to your performance. Progress is made with regular practice outside of lessons. Voice students record each private lesson on tape and take notes in their own notebooks.
I have "warm-up" tracks which you can use in your car or at home and you will notice significant improvement once you start your routine.
Practicing is very important and I have great methods to teach students how to maximize their time and get the best results! I am privileged to have an opportunity to teach and very passionate about coaching a student to meet his or her musical goals!
Also, I have a Beagle named "Bacon" and he will always be very excited to see you, however he does calm down when you're in the studio. In addition, I have two cats, so please let me know if you have allergies or any special recommendations.
Thanks so much! Melody

Mark is an excellent voice coach! He has been very helpful in teaching me breathing techniques, voice health, understanding my vocal range and how to improve my range. He has made me feel more confident in my abilities and I am looking forward to future lessons.

I couldn't of picked a better voice instructor!
I've always been a confident songwriter but when it came to singing I struggled; especially with pitch. Thats when I started my lessons with Mark and right away knew he was the right instructor. Instead of making me follow some completely pre-scripted lesson plan, Mark helped me correct my pitch and overall singing while practicing songs I had written myself.
I've been working with him for almost two years now and I've noticed significant improvements across the board and have gained so much more confidence in my singing abilities. Enough that I actually just finished recording a 13-track album of songs all written and sung by me. I can't thank Mark enough for helping me follow my dreams and for continuing to help me grow as a singer.

You are doing a great job with Robbie. He is still having a difficult time remembering the chords and he refuses to practice at home because of this. If you could give him one song to remember to practice at home that may help. He would like to practice at home but he gets so frustrated because of his memory with this. Robbie also enjoys you.
Born in Panama City, Panama, Mariana completed a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Shenandoah Conservatory and completed a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy at the Catholic University of America with an emphasis in Latin American Music in 2009. She has sung on the stages of Italy and Spain participating in performances of Die Zauberfl te, L'Elisir d'Amore and La Traviata. Mariana has sung in the DC area with Zarzuela Di Si and the In Series as well as The City Choir of Washington and The Washington Chorus. As a voice teacher, Mariana has experience teaching students of all ages but
mostly children and teenagers. Her approach is simple yet effective, speaking in terms that are easy for each individual student to understand and remember.
*** Lesson Details *** Students will develop a strong vocal technique and build healthy vocal habits. They will learn all aspects needed to become a well rounded singer: diction, interpretation, musicianship, breath support and focus, all of this while having fun! Also, they will acquire the tools to keep up the work they've done during their lessons in the time between meetings with the teacher. Pianists will learn to read music and play by ear while acquiring a healthy technique to avoid any injuries.
*** Studio Equipment *** I own a Yamaha digital piano.
*** Travel Equipment *** I own a traveling keyboard but prefer to use a larger instrument if available at the student's home. I also provide musical scores and the use of metronome.

Excellent vocal instructor & coach
Mariana has been a consistently impressive instructor over the past year. She has shown that she can identify improvements for her students in a surprisingly accurate and quick manner. A year later, I still rely on her tips in performance scenarios and when just sitting at home practicing.
When I first started taking lessons with Mariana, I was bad...real bad. Now I am considerably better and that feedback is from very honest (and very forward) friends of mine!! I am thankful for the fact that Mariana does not let my mistakes go unnoticed and works with me to correct them. It should be noted that she has an incredibly polite delivery when identifying mistakes and offering improvement tips. This is something I don't personally need but is so out of the ordinary for instructors that I feel it deserves recognition.
I would highly recommend Mariana to any type of student singing in any genre. She is very big on the fundamentals but understands a person's musical style and goals so she tailors her lessons to fit the student. Whether it be critique of a recording or an in person lesson - Marianaâs teaching style, polite delivery and accuracy of improvement areas lead to a shorter time frame for a student to reach their goals.
I have been able to teach myself every instrument I've put my hands on (5 so far). From the perspective of someone who has very high expectations of myself and my music...I would not have been able to get where I am vocally without her.

Awesome teacher for kids!
My daughter has always loved to sing and at 8 yrs old was ready for some training. Mariana has been very patient, gentle, and encouraging to her-never pushing her past her comfort. My daughter is not normally shy, but she cares so much about singing that she was a bit nervous in her first lessons. She just had her third lesson and was able to really open up and sing. Mariana praised her and was able to encourage her to let go and not worry about a mistake! I think the best compliment you can give a teacher is to listen to the child talk about her lesson all afternoon and share with everyone she can find what she learned and her "real voice" Mariana also works very hard to explain in kid terms what she is teaching and how to warm up. I have sung all my life, but never had any training. Im learning right along with my daughter and it has been an amazing experience. Im really glad to have this opportunity to work with Mariana.

This has been a truly enjoyable experience.
Don was teaching several of my charter high school students in guitar/vocal and music production. After a quick observation of his classes, I signed up for lessons as well. I am an adult student and have been taking guitar/vocal performance lessons with Don for three years. This has been a truly enjoyable experience. Don combines proper technique with enough creativity to make our lessons fun. Don is an inspirational teacher. He tuned into my musical tastes and tailored his lessons to my desires. I highly recommend Don to any adult or youth students interested in furthering their skills and enjoyment of music performance.

Family Fun on Ukelele and Strumstick
Don has been wonderful to work with as a Ukelele and Strumstick instructor. I had an idea to get music lessons for my husband and 5 year old daughter as a Christmas gift. The thought was to have special Daddy and daughter time; sharing something that my husband loves to do. Don has worked with us to create a whole experience for them around music lessons. Don has succeeded in building an environment for our daughter to enjoy the music lesson experience. The first time she played 'hot crossed buns' brought a tear of joy to my eyes. He has even included me in the group lessons on Strumstick. My husband has expanded his knowledge of musical instruments and enhanced his playing skills with Don's skillful instruction. Don has made the whole experience delightful for our family.

Josephine is just the violin teacher I was looking for!
Every lesson includes scales and etudes along with a couple of songs to work on. Her teaching is attentive to detail and well-rounded (spot-on technique, music reading, easily-digestible theory, etc.), while still really fostering enjoyment in playing and slow but steady growth. Whether you’re looking for classical violin, fiddling, or bluegrass, Josie will help you learn whatever you want to learn!
I definitely recommend a longer class time if you can do it - a few extra run-throughs of each song and scale make a big difference in your muscle memory and ability to practice efficiently on your own.
Of the few violin teachers I've had in my sporadic years of playing violin, Josie has inspired me to play the most, and I know I will continue taking lessons with her for as long as I can. Highly recommended!

6 Tools to Learn Piano at Home
Piano may be one of the toughest instruments to learn, because of all the multitasking required! You have to be able to read two different musical lines simultaneously, and keep track of what both your left and right hands are doing, all while your foot works the pedals. While most schools have classes to teach students band instruments or stringed instruments, few schools offer piano instruction. This means that most piano students learn how to play at home and in private piano lessons, instead
