Andrew B.

Feasterville Trevose, PA

About Andrew

Andrew is a graduate of Musicians Institute College of Contemporary Music in Hollywood, California with a degree in drum/percussion performance. At Musicians Institute he had the opportunity to study with drum book authors: Ed Roscetti, Chuck Silverman and Gary Hess, as well as World Snare Drum Champion: Rob Carson. He also studied music theory at Bucks County Community College

He first began his drum studies at age 10; playing percussion in school and at 17 began performing and recording drums professionally. He spent a great deal of his time working with local artists in Philadelphia and
Manhattan and touring the northeastern states. During his time in Los Angeles he performed in cover bands, jazz/Latin groups and for dozens of independent artists. He also had the privilege to work with some well know artists, such as Scott Shriner of Weezer, Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe, and The Blue Man Group.

Teaching drums is just as much a passion of his as is drum performance and recording. In 2005 he was hired as the drum instructor at Los Angeles City College. Since then, he has authored three different drum books and has taught music at Southern California Music School, Alhambra School of Music, Pasadena City College, LA Valley College, LA Academy and several other institutions.

Andrew was awarded Teacher of the Year 2007/2008 at Southern California Music School. He also received Best Drummer Award at the Emergenza’s Battle of the Bands contest in 2005. Under Andrew’s instruction, Carver Middle School was also awarded 1st place during the NVISION Battle of the Bands contest in 2010.

David is a very skilled drummer and a very enthusiastic teacher. In lessons, he seems to like to split time between practicing rudiments and learning to play different rhythms on the set. He is also exceptionally patient and supportive with my 9-year-old, highly distractible daughter. David is very positive, pointing out things that are going well and interesting rhythms that they discover. I am really glad we found David--he is an excellent teacher and I love watching my daughter learn so much about music!

Kevin F.

Philadelphia, PA

With a degree and several years of performing experience in classical, latin, ethnic, and folk percussion, I can help you prepare for auditions, get that solo piece up to the level you want, or just help you to develop your expressive abilities for fun and personal growth.

Drum corps-style, marching band, concert band, orchestral, solo, latin... Whatever it is that you are trying to develop, I can help. If you value the skills of legitimate musicianship, you deserve a teacher with formal training and experience. Look no further.

About Kevin

I have been a teacher for several years in subjects ranging from Music to English. My most recent experience has been with ESL students, which I find to be most fulfilling. I earned a 94th percentile GRE Verbal score and have coached several students in test prep and general writing. As a trained singer, dialects and accents are areas with which I have extensive experience. The mechanics of phonation and speech have been a theme throughout my career and I have developed an acute sensitivity to the intricacies of diction in various languages.

I hope I can be of service to you!

On a p
ersonal note, I enjoy long-distance bike rides, classical music (2,500 vinyl LPs in the collection), personal essay writing, movies, and cooking. I love learning and spend almost all of my free time learning about something.
