Casey C.

Atlanta, GA

About Casey

Hi I'm a 29 year old professional musician that has worked hard to become a first call drummer for performance, instruction, and studio session work in the Atlanta area. Over the past 5 years I have t
oured nationally, recorded with countless regional, national and local artists, and have gained a positive reputation in the Atlanta community as a unique, innovative, and passionate drum teacher. I studied music at The University of Mississippi and I am qualified to teach numerous styles including Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, Jazz, Electronica, World and many others. I have years of experience teaching private and group lessons (I'm a recurring Camp Counselor in Summer music programs). I offer inspired beginning drummers of all ages the chance to learn the art of drum set playing within a basic, relaxed, and fun context.

*** Studio Equipment ***
My drum studio includes 2 drum kits to help aid in visual learning, percussion instruments from around the world, a PA system to play along to music and great vibes!

*** Travel Equipment ***
For student's home lessons I require at least one drum or drum set.

*** Specialties ***
Based within a fun, relaxed context, Casey has developed a natural teaching method that focuses on learning and understanding the building blocks of drum set playing, familiarizing and connecting these building blocks, and applying them to individual expression. He has the ability to take nearly anyone without prior drum set or rhythmic experience, and, within days, turn them into beat playing drummers. His approach focuses on: HAVING FUN, building an understanding and relationship with each drum, the basic rudimentary foundation of drumming, how to approach the drums, hold the sticks, set up the drums, and tune the drums, basic mechanical techniques, development of each limb, learning how to read basic drum charts and play to them, learning and playing the most significant beats and patterns in the history of drum set, and gaining the ability to effectively teach oneself how to improve as a drummer.

Author and Motivator, Joyce Rennolds says...Phenomenal Results!

David, I am grateful to you for encouraging me to give up old beliefs about 'not being able to sing'. Since I am a Motivational Speaker and a New Thought Minister and teach an 'I can' attitude it never occurred to me to apply that idea to my singing voice. The results have been phenomenal. Thanks to your wonderful style of teaching I am now singing with confidence and poise in my church services. For my own pleasure I am becoming better and better at singing those wonderful Broadway tunes. Thank you for your encouragement, your professionalism, your unique style and your loving patience to work so diligently with me. You are the BEST!

The first thing that struck us is how nice a person he is. Very kind, patient , friendly and obviously talented. He works with my 9 year old. We have been taking lessons from him for about a year and half now. Although he is our only teacher, we have been very happy with him and never felt the need to look further. He has the natural ability to work with children, encouraging them to have the self confidence. My daughter's confidence has improved by leaps and bounds. He recognizes area of improvement and works very hard to get push her to be better than she thinks she can be. I drive an hour for our lesson and I will continue to do so without second thoughts. He is truly an amazing person. highly recommend!!!

Dan is a great teacher and definitely a strong choice to consider if you're thinking about starting vocal lessons. With my busy schedule he has given me flexibility and has allowed me to learn at my own pace. He is also very talented at adapting to your learning style and listening to what you'd like to get out of singing. This is honest feedback from personal experience working with Dan and I suggest giving him a try.

Dan is an excellent teacher and a great guy. I've been working with him for about two months now and have seen noted improvements to both my vocal performance and songwriting. He is willing to work with you and help you learn in a way that is most conducive to your own style - for me, we work equally on vocal exercises and performance. Dan has helped me work on pitch, breath, vocal emotion, volume, and overall technique - highly recommended.
