Andy was my guitar instructor for more than year. He is a master in theory and practice and is able to bring you to the highest levels. The breath of learning opportunities he offers in terms of techniques, styles, rhythms, songs etc is huge and allows for training and development in the desired areas at every possible level. And he can back up the lessons by the underlying music theory as needed. In practice, Andy quickly spots where issues lie and provides useful hints to overcome technical problems. In addition he offers useful material which helps when practicing at home.

I have been teaching guitar for over 30 years and have had the privilege of studying with some of the finest guitarists in the world which include Aldo Minella, Sulaiman Zai, Javier Calderon, Dr. Lily Afshar, Benjamin Verdery and Kevin Gallagher. I also studied jazz with Berklee professor Sal Difusco and Chris Buono.

As a teacher. I have been a high school teacher for the past 20 years and am certified in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a history teacher. I have worked with all types of learning styles and test preps. As an educator, I have gone through all the background CORI checks already.

If you are taking lessons at my studio I just wanted to alert people that we have 2 very friendly English Cocker Spaniels. This is obviously important for people that have allergies to know.

Thank you for reading my profile.

I really enjoyed working through beginner/intermediate classical guitar with Gene. He was always prepared and very knowledgeable about the different pieces we were working on. He helped my technique tremendously, and structured my progress in a way I wouldn't have been able to do myself. If you are serious about wanting to learn guitar I strongly recommend getting a teacher, and if you live in the Boston area I highly recommend Gene.

Been meeting with Tyler for 4 lessons now and cannot give anything but the highest praise for him. Before we began we set the outline for what
I wanted to do and how he could help - the planning was good but the execution far exceeded anything I could hope for. His insight, technical ability, and highly positive attitude makes him the perfect partner to "re-introduce" me to the guitar (35+ year break in playing). Cons: initially opted for 1/2 hour lesson - too short. Pros: understands my goals, appreciates the musical genre that is important to me, great balance between teaching during the lesson and giving me things to work on on my own, very positive and encouraging attitude....and many more "pros". My suggestion is - if you are thinking of going with him give him a call - very easy to talk to and you will likely find out what I have found - Tyler is top notch!!

Playing blues guitar is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding musical experiences around! With my Berklee degree and my 34 years of both teaching and performing experience, I can show you everything you need to know. You will learn to improvise (jam) using basic and advanced blues scales. You will learn the absolute coolest blues chords around -- both easy and challenging. You will learn a ton of licks, tricks, and techniques. And you will learn to apply these skills to many great blues tunes! They say "the blues never ends." Find out for yourself how true that is!

About Stan
Hi! I am a private music instructor offering lessons both in-studio and online. I hold a Bachelor of Music Degree from Berklee College of Music, where I graduated Summa cum Laude, and I have over 36 years' full-time experience as an instructor.

I also have over four decades of experience as a professional jazz, rock, and theater musician. My experience has taken me from nightclubs to concert stages to churches, as well as television studios, radio stations, and many recording studios.

Finally, I am a published author with several titles dedicated to helping musicians becoming the best they can be.

**** MY TEACHING STYLE ****

My teaching style is often referred to as laid-back, gentle, informative, and very supportive. My focus is on enrichment, encouragement, and results.

I don't work with “one-size-fits-all” methods. Ea
ch lesson is customized to make the most of each student's own unique abilities, limitations, preferences, and interests. Whether students prefer, or do better with, traditional materials, playing/singing along with their favorite recordings, improvisation, or anything in between, I am more than happy to accommodate and bring out each student’s best!

I teach real music -- students begin playing music they love almost from day-one. For example, many of my piano and guitar students pride themselves on learning to play every song on the Beatles One album ... playing right along with the CD! Reading, playing by ear, improvisation (jamming), singing while you play ... there are so many ways to play and avenues to explore in music.

**** MY STUDIO ****

My studio is spacious (very spacious – no cubicles here!), well-appointed, and very quiet. Unlike music stores and multi-lesson facilities, there are no other lessons on the premises, no drummers going crazy on the other side of the wall. This means students can concentrate better and learn faster. There is also plenty of room for parents and siblings who may wish to sit in on lessons.

**** STYLES / GENRES ****

I believe that students make the most progress learning music they love and I am very happy to teach every student the style of music he or she loves most.

My most requested genres are: pop, rock, country, blues, classic rock, jazz, and classical. Some students arrive knowing exactly what they want, but most are happy to explore various styles that interest them in search of the perfect fit. It is not at all uncommon for a student to spend part of their lesson polishing up a Beethoven piece or jazz standard, then finish up playing the chords to “Hotel California” along with the CD. Another student might start off their lesson learning a Taylor Swift hit, then move over to doing some blues improvisation. Variety is a wonderful thing and it is highly encouraged!

**** MY STUDENTS ****

Over the years, I have taught students from four years old to eighty-somethings. I’ve taught absolute beginners (most of my students start from square-one), hobbyists, seasoned professionals, even a Grammy nominee and a Grammy winner! Many of my young students have gone on to perform in school bands / jazz bands and/or professionally. In all cases, they acquire a skill that will last for a lifetime and provide joy, enrichment, and satisfaction.

Do you have a song or two in your heart? Contact me today and I will help you reach your musical goals and have a very good time doing it!

I've taken about 10 flamenco (and some bossa nova) guitar lessons with Guilherme so far. I had taken flamenco lessons in the past with other instructors, but this is the first time I've actually made progress. He's done a great job of creating a lesson plan and teaching a very technical style, while keeping it fun and exciting. I really look forward to my lessons every week, which is a credit to Guilherme's ability to balance method with fun. My personal teaching philosophy is that music is a beautiful transcendental art form, and it's my job to find the student's connection to music and help them enjoy it to its fullest capacity. Whether it's a young beginner, old hobbyist, or aspiring professional I understand that everyone's learning process is unique and it's my job to find and nurture that.

I predominantly play jazz and have an extensive theory and composition background, so I can educate on many subjects. Some of my primary focuses are: technique, fretboard knowledge, chord vocabulary, sound/tone, articulation styles and personal stylistic choices, and many more.

About Nicholas
I have many years of teaching experience and can discuss a wide range of topics. While I am predominantly a guitar player, I have experience with and have often enjoyed teaching musical/compositional concepts as well as improvisational tools and music theory to other instruments.

I am totally passionate about teaching, and I provide that spark that motivates my students into getting the best out of themselves.

I follow a modern customer-oriented approach based on win-win and long term success. The guitar student is an aspiring virtuoso, and I am as patient as possible with the students and following their own desires.

As long as he/she focuses on the image of the perfect player he/she wishes to become, I am committed to the full extend to motivate, encourage, help, assist, suggest improvements, correct mistakes, answer questions and everything that will speed up the student's ramp-up into becoming that perfect player.

About Aksel
Experience

Master professional guitarist with 25 years of experience playing a large variety of genres such as classical, blues, jazz, country, heavy-metal, flamenco, and more.

Cosmopolitan modern musician, songwriter, and improviser with a worldwide background including European, Latin, African, Middle-Eastern and Asian genres.

Exceptionally trained musical ears allowing seamless integration and pairing with bands and music setups.

Experienced guitar instructor and mentor focusing on achieving personal goals of each of my students coming from various skills, ages, backgrounds, and locations

Great band leadership and team-building skills based on goal driven and a win-win approach.

As a music guitar lover, I have been sharing my passion for my art gradually as soon as I ramped up my instrumental mastery. I have been free
lancing with guitar mentorship and tutorship for about 10 years now, and have had students from all over the world.

I mainly specialize in 2 types of students:
- Entry level students who are just getting started. Sometimes these students don't even own an instrument, sometimes they barely know what a guitar is made of.
- Players with a few years of playing guitar abilities who stalled for various reason: not enough practice, not enough motivation, bad habits initially acquired that hindered their progressions.

I can play a large variety of genres, from blues to jazz, metal to flamenco, classical to folk, etc. I stress on acquiring good habits early on while adapting to the student specific skills, or sometimes, limitations.

Teaching Method

I usually group all guitar skills in 3 different categories:
- Chords
- Arpeggios
- Solos
I then break all the unique intricacies and specificities based on the student interest and existing skill. Everything else depends on the student's favorite genre.
My standard procedure is to pick 3 songs from a genre that the student wants to play, ordered by level of difficulty, and break them down into fragments that subsequently constitute the homework for the next sessions.

My specialty is to make sure the student eventually becomes self-reliant and independent. I teach them the power of their ears. I teach them techniques to help them improve their ears to be able to play any song that they would like in the long term. There is a bit of theory involved, but it's mostly practice.

I am totally passionate about teaching, and I provide that spark that motivates my students into getting the best out of themselves.

I follow the students own desires. I use a modern customer-oriented approach based on win-win and long term success. The guitar student is an aspiring virtuoso. As long as he/she focuses on the image of the perfect player he/she wishes to become, I am committed to the full extend to motivate, encourage, help, assist, suggest improvements, correct mistakes, answer questions and everything that will speed up the student's ramp-up into becoming that perfect player.

Mr. Allouch is an excellent instructor. For me, placing my fingers on the guitar is hard, but he taught me to put my fingers in a perpendicular position and to make sure to press hard on the string so it will make a good sound. Thanks to that advice, it is easier to play the notes correctly. He has made it fun for me to learn guitar. He is an excellent guitar player and I am very happy that he has shared his passion with me. Merci beaucoup Mr. Allouch!
