Trombone:
A musical instrument in the brass family where sound is produced when the player's vibrating lips (embouchure) cause the air column inside the instrument to vibrate. Nearly all trombones have a telescoping slide mechanism that varies the length of the instrument to change the pitch. I will start with the basics. Proper breathing, reading, notes, rhythms, songs, theory, and improvisation.

About Karen

Extremely knowledgeable! Karen is a superb guitar instructor. Honestly, I was struggling. Discouraged! She helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses, and moved me from beginner to intermediate in a matter of months. If you’re getting tired of learning from YouTube and smart phone apps, let Karen kick start your guitar playing. You’ll be glad you did. Thanks Karen!!

This teacher misrepresented her ability to teach the C system chromatic button accordion. I don't believe that she has ever played one. I asked her before purchasing a set of classes if she knew this instrument and was competent to teach it, and she said she was.

She didn't have one, so she could never demonstrate anything I asked about. She didn't know the key layout. She didn't know the conventions for numbering fingers. She didn't know the basic home key scale pattern.

I waited until I'd finished four classes with my new teacher before writing this so I'd have a good basis for comparison. He is immensely better at teaching this than she was. It further convinced me that she never should have represented herself as competent to teach this particular instrument.

At 40, I decided to pick up the tuba that I’d kept since playing in college. I wanted to get off to a solid start. I found in Bryan a solid teacher with a wealth of all sorts of musical knowledge. I implemented the lessons into practice and felt myself grow stronger in some areas than I had ever experienced in my first 10 years of practice and learning. I was also able to see a marked improvement in my bass guitar skills by applying many of the same concepts to the playing of that instrument. These lessons have been a great investment for my musicianship.

Bryan has very unique lesson plans and can channel his musical thoughts very clearly. He was very understanding and reflective of my needs. He then presented me with a series of mental models and exercises which i am certain will make me not just a better pianist but a better musician and also help me appreciate music better.

I would highly highly recommend Bryan and i will certainly continue the musicial journey with him.

At 48 years old, I decided to embark on the life-long desire for vocal lessons. Mr. Blackwell works with me at my pace, as an amateur with a busy professional and home life, and supports me wherever I am in a given lesson. After 8 months of singing together, I have so much more confidence and enjoyment out of singing and like another reviewer said, he makes me feel like I could perform one day (beyond the kitchen, car and shower!).

Mr. Blackwell is very kind and is an amazing teacher. He takes time to help me understand music especially the theory sections. He is not just a music teacher but he is an excellent mentor.

Luther has been very helpful at teaching me the basics while also making sure we move at a pace in which I am comfortable before jumping into any new exercises. I look forward to having him as a teacher for a long time.

Mr. A. has a talent for teaching that makes it a privilege to be one of his students. Our son has been thoroughly enjoying the time under his tutelage, and continues to do so via video while in-house is not an option. The trumpet lessons have included trumpet technique, musical notation and reading, ear training, trumpet hygiene, and instrument care.
Mr. A. is a respectful, punctual, and precise teacher who inspires students to reach their potential.

Mr. Arnold has a very thorough knowledge of music and what it takes to physically create music. If you don't understand something one way, he will explain it in other way's that you do understand. He seems to have no limit to his patience and caring about his student's. A great sense of humor, a guy you would like as a neighbor.

"I am a high school student who has been taking trombone lessons for four years, and I have been playing for six years. I was having trouble on this difficult piece that had a wide range of notes, and I needed help with this because I had an upcoming state competition. Eventually, it was recommended to me to find a professional who taught at a collegiate level, and that was when I went online and found Mr. Gallo. I decided to sign up with him for six lessons just to see what I needed to work, but when I started taking lessons with him, I realized how much improvement I needed to make on my trombone. He had denoted instantly in my first lesson what I was doing wrong. Thanks to Mr. Gallo's phenomenal teaching, I have embraced a more acute and accurate practice routine as well as a better embrasure which has assisted me in unlocking a higher range on my trombone than I have ever reached before. The practice technicalities he has taught me that have become very advantageous to me, and will be easily instituted in more complicated pieces in the future."
