I have written and recorded well over 100 professional level songs. I teach how to understand diatonic structure and chord resolution and how, once you know the "rules" you can break them all to play exactly what you hear should be in the song onto paper.

In addition to being a Berklee College of Music Graduate, I have a Masters in Music Education, and currently completing my Doctorate in Music Education from Boston University, I have been playing for over 30 years. Lessons are written and tailored to you. I use music, printouts, and instruction

Frankie helped me with my clarinet tone within the first 15 minutes of the first lesson, and gave me many more helpful playing tips throughout the hour. He was really interested in what my goals were. Looking forward to many more lessons with Frankie.

I thought I wanted to take viola lessons. Then I read her website and I realized that she might be able to help me get my voice back! I thought there was no hope ever. She has been extremely generous with her time, and I haven't seen her yet, but I'm not buying the viola I was planning on buying. I play cello, and piano still, but I am going to see if she can help me with my voice. She sounds incredible. I never dreamed that I could even have HOPE like this!

I started writing songs at age 7. I recorded my first song at age 16. I use theory and chord progressions with my instrumental students to help develop their own style sometimes by only adding suggestions. I teach a rock camp in the summertime where kids age 7-15 come out and learn to write original music and perform it on stage in only a week.

He knows how to teach, but he taught from his iPad, iPhone, in his car. I kept asking him how to draw, and he kept showing me from his iPad. This didn't translate to a good experience. If he wants to teach, he needs to do it NOT from his car.

Jason was very patient with me and very nice. I loved what I've learned so far and can't wait to learn more!

Great lesson. Jason is working with my mom to tailor the lessons to her level. Mom enjoyed the lesson and is looking forward to more.

Song writing for me is a process.
To be able to go through the process, one has to have certain musical skills. If a song writer lacks those skills, I try to impart them with the missing elements. From there we learn to build a song from the ground up.

"Christiaan has been working on his own music for quite some time and his knowledge of various musical genres to reference and borrow from for influences and ideas is so vast based on his long background in music. What is refreshing about working with him is he is open to so many forms of music. As he states it, " music is music". it provides a fresh approach. I am very pleased with this expanded viewpoint."

"Technology today is incredible. I'm in Norway, Fawn is in Los Angeles. Where else could I find a quality teacher with a couple of hit songs help me at my craft? If it weren't for the internet I would have never found such a talented songwriter to help me tighten my songs. I love, love, LOVE the time I spend with Fawn hashing out my songs to record with my band in the studio. She is so gifted, easy going, precise and fun. She really respects keeping the integrity and emotions of my songs and is good at keeping people open to changes that are necessary to make a mediocre song great."
