Private Singing Teacher

I have been teaching private lessons now for over two years. I specialize in teaching children and teens and am a student favorite at Take Lessons with a collection of wonderful reviews from students and their parents. I am a very thorough and patient teacher. However, I expect a MINIMUM of three days a week of practice from all of my students at a length of time equal to lesson length. Without adequate practice, the student cannot flourish in fine-tuning their skills and could ultimately end up disappointed. This is completely avoidable with diligent practice.
For my younger students (ages 6-11) I utilize the Little Singers series of text written by Gregory Blankenbehler. For ages 12 and up, I utilize The Contemporary Singer: Elements of Vocal Technique written by Anne Peckham, one of my most influential Berklee professors. In addition to these texts I incorporate the use of the Vaccai: the Practical Method of Italian Singing as well as many various traditional, jazz, pop, and r&b ...

Words will never be enough to express what Danielle has done for my daughter and her love of singing. Danielle has shown so much patience and commitment through her instruction and has boosted my daughters confidence 110%. She knows how to chose the perfect song for Alexis' voice and the emails that she sends after each session provide the proper tools for my daughter to carry out her 1 hour session to a full week. I could not have picked a better vocal coach for my daughter.

I believe that learning how to sing is one of the things we can reward ourselves to achieve a happy and better life that we lived in. As a Voice Instructor, I believed that this natural instrument has the power to move people and captivate the hearts of people through the singer's delivery of the text within a song being performed.

With that in mind, I always like to have my students achieve this valuable role. I also love to encourage and uplift my students through the very best of their capability learning wide variety of songs while maintaining a healthy singing throughout their instructions.

Private Singing Teacher

I work with people in regard to singing lessons since 2004 in both academic settings and private face-to-face instructions. The lesson's plans and general direction that it takes during the course of study substantially depends on the student's interests and preferences. Along with main subjects that motivates students most in taking voice lessons ( such as learning new songs from the contemporary popular repertoire, for instance), I will offer my prospective students basic training in general musicianship; this would enable people to sing, read written music, and understand the very basics of music theory. With such advantages at their hands, my students will be able to expand their singing repertoire and to move, probably, to another styles of music for singing and enjoying it for the sake of people's personal aesthetical development.

The goal of training the voice is to create a strong, unified sound through the entire range of the voice. With regular practice and training, the quality of the voice will improve, the range will expand and you will become a more confident performer.

About Robert

A native of Chattanooga, TN, Robert T. has been hailed by critics as a “sonorous-voiced” bass-baritone with “rich tones” who creates “a solid foundation for the entire performance.” That’s the first sentence of my professional biography. I thought I'd use it to get the ball rolling. I was

I am astonished at how my voice has developed working with Michelle and Robert. As a soprano, I had lost so much range. Come to find out, singing incorrectly for about 40 years will do that to you. I had never taken voice lessons prior, so unfortunately, I learned to sing all wrong. Through vocal pedagogy, I now understand healthy and correct singing techniques.
They both have an amazing way of explaining things, and when I have that "a-ha" moment- it is glorious! I've learned more than I ever imagined- I never thought I would ever sing Italian or French! They support exploring different musical styles and genres, and do we ever have fun! It is my weekly therapy, and I am so grateful I found them as my teachers.
I highly recommend them for your mental health, personal development and the pure love of singing.

Rob and Michelle are by very far the best voice instructors I've had and I have had several. They are both very personal and have a great approach to teach the fundamentals and take you along a great journey to become a better singer! I highly recommend them both to anyone interested in developing their singing abilities!

I absolutely adore working with Robert in preparation for my future in the voice and music industry. His technique and approach for both the voice and music theory is not only helpful but also fun. Under his instruction I'm both able to learn both technique on how to better my sound and the anatomy behind it. I enjoy going to voice twice a week and I always look forward to my lessons as they approach. I truly feel I am being prepared in the bests ways possible for my future as well as the most fun learning environment voice teachers have to offer.

If I could give more stars I would. Michelle is perfectly balanced as an instructor. She provides excellent feedback in a way that is warm and inviting. I can not recommend her work enough. An amazing teacher and artist.
Kadi_wills@hotmail.com
I picked Michelle based on her wonderful reviews. I wanted her help in getting my 78 year-old husband's lovely voice back in shape. I was thrilled to see Michelle in action with Robert on piano taking Jim through vocalizations and evaluations of his range at his first Zoom lesson.

After his class, Jim received from Michelle a recording of his session, virtual sheet music for a song she knew was perfect for his baritone voice and his preference for crooner music! He was thrilled with her choice and eagerly learned the song.

When she introduced a beautiful song to develop his lyric pronunciation while strengthening his voice, She sent him youtube videos of a variety of other singer interpreting this song.

I am really impressed with the work she has done during the lesson, after the lesson, and pre-lesson. I never expected Jim would receive so much in addition to his actual lesson. Another plus I didn't expected was that Michelle's very talented husband Robert was at the piano, taking Jim through the music. Because Robert is a baritone, Jim enjoyed his support and singing with him. I am so pleased to rate Michelle and Robert 10 stars...they are delightful and serious at the same time. A talented pair!!

"Kait is part intuitive, part miracle-worker and all music and voice! She was able to take our daughter – whose older siblings said couldn't even sing 'Happy Birthday' – and work with her to achieve a Broadway-style range and capacity to belt out a song that no one in our family ever expected. Kait's ear and sense of what's possible in a voice is uncannily good. She can find the positive attributes in anyone's voice and build on them. Our daughter is now a confident, uninhibited singer and performer, thanks to Kait!"
