I firmly believe that anyone can learn to sing beautifully. This is possible without a five-octave vocal range. Using the music that you love, I can teach you to sing the way you feel.
A former student of renowned voice teacher Taras V. Leschishin (of the Cleveland Opera Company, Boston Pops, and the Handel and Haydn Society), I can lead you to the threshold of your own mind.

After Teaching voice for the past few years it's clear that one thing is universal no matter what kind of singer you are: It takes an impressive amount of courage and self awareness to be heard through song. The Voice is one of the highest form of emotional expression, taking the whole body; as the whole body is the instrument. In these lessons we will focus on breath, bring attention to tension, support, and placement of the voice. Giving you the freedom to be heard. I'm excited to work together with you to find your voice.
"The best singers are relaxed in performance. That is they have no extraneous tension. Their muscles are ready to receive the impulse necessary to fulfill action and will ripple with energy."
Kristin Linklater

I will meet you wherever you are, and together we will develop a personalized plan to meet your goals. Classical singing is often done in an overly clinical manner, punishing vocal idiosyncrasies and style, and robbing music of its joys. But as a person who had a horrible experience with classical training, I pride myself on being able to impart its better aspects without subjecting students to its more harmful, infamous aspects.
Singing is a very technical thing. The human voice is an instrument like any other that you can understand and use in a technical manner. But also your voice is a direct extension of your spirit, your identity, your history, and your passions that others can directly perceive! To truly live in your voice, to be proud of your voice, is to be proud of yourself, fundamentally. I will use my clinical knowledge and my personal knowledge as a singer to teach you to use your voice technically without robbing singing of its soul.
About Saturday

As a trained opera singer, my expertise is in classical vocal performance. Due to my experience performing theatre repertoire as well, however, I have been teaching voice through both classical and theatre repertoire for the past 3 years.
I put an emphasis on learning the fundamentals of singing first while also incorporating familiar pieces for each of my students in order to keep him/her engaged and having fun.
I am here for each of my students' and want them to be the best musicians they can be :).
