Penny’s sound background in Stanislavski’s teachings, coupled with years of experience on stage as an actor and behind the table as a director has helped to mold her into a passionate, dedicated, and energetic educator and performer. Her instruction focuses not just on the student’s technique, but developing the student as a whole - working with posture, confidence, interpretation and artistry. She also incorporates the use of yoga and movement as tools to free the actor in mind and body. In addition to private acting, she teaches voice and voice/piano combo lessons. Penny has been a private instructor for over 18 years and works with students of all ages and levels. Formerly the Coordinator of Theater at Endicott College, she has ten years of experience teaching and directing at the collegiate level. A native of the Chicagoland area, Penny is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University (BM, Vocal Performance) and the Boston Conservatory (MM Opera Performance).

I started working with Penny when I was 11 years old and she has done wonders to my voice. When I first started singing, I had no training and had a very little range. Thanks to Penny, I have grown not only as a singer, but I am a stronger performer as well. She helped me with everything: from building my repertoire, to audition prep, and through the college application process. I am now studying at Dean College and getting my BA in Musical Theatre, and I still see Penny for lessons when I am home. I owe all of my success to Penny’s training!!

Susan.
Alyssa is an upbeat, encouraging, and patient teacher. Her own singing voice is beautiful, and she sings very professionally in a wide range of genres. She is reliable, pleasant, sincere, and capable. She gives each student her full attention and tailors her lessons to each one's particular talent (as well as where they're in need of improvement). I recommend Alyssa very highly... She's delightful!

I have known Alyssa now for about a year and she is a true master of her art form. She is knowledgeable and genuine in her teaching and performing, and always seeks the best for her students. I highly recommend her as your teacher.

We got SUPER fortunate to come across Milton as a piano teacher for our son who is diagnosed with Moderate/Severe Autism. If you are considering a special needs piano teacher, you too, lucked out finding Mr. Milton.
He is incredibly patient and calm, but firm. He has a cool vibe about him that creates a “jam session” atmosphere instead of the traditional stiff ol’ lady kind of approach. He has been great with incorporating our home and school behavior program to ensure our son is successful. He is also adaptable in how he teaches to ensure he is reaching our son that is most effective to his learning style. But most importantly he was honest with us as we began this road into special needs piano lessons. We were not sure if our son was even teachable. He was open to trying a few lessons to see if there were some foundational strengths he could work with . Mr. Milton was very articulate about what strengths he saw in our son despite his impairments that allowed us to decide to continue with investing in lessons. He wasn’t just trying get another client and take our money. We love Mr. Milton, and even on our son’s worst days , he always love to see him too.

"Keomi has a lot of positive energy and is sensitive to the the skill levels of her students so she tailors her classes to give just enough challenge while building on students’ strengths and experiences.
Keomi gives a great cardio workout where you really sweat yet the class is so fun that you don’t notice how hard you are working!
You WILL learn many classic hip hop moves which Keo strings together to make a sexy/cool but accessible choreography. You come out of class feeling blissed - both for the vigorous workout and for accomplishing the dance moves! This is a great class for all levels."

Within few weeks he taught me how to tap into my feelings and express it outwards. Needless to say he is an impressive teacher and if you have the chance, visit him. "A very good first lesson. We went over breathing exercises and scales. Also had time for Amy to critique my speaking style through a portion of a speech I will be giving in a month. Time well-spent.

She briefly went over the next lesson plan and gave me a little homework to do as well.

I got a lot out of this lesson and I can see how this will help me accomplish my goal of being a better public speaker and having a more controlled and stronger voice.

Looking forward to future lessons."

As an instructor, he won't stop until anywhere short of what he believes you are capable of as an actor, so when you work with him be prepared to be pushed to your potential."
