This is English reading! ABC's!!! (meaning not necessarily pertaining to music, as I am a music teacher)
I do have a college degree (not that that means everything), But I am a proficient reader, with great understanding. If you are an adult and you struggle reading and you'd like help, I am very patient and will help you learn to read. I realize in most cases USA adults can read; but if you're an exception, we're all an exception to somebody somewhere, I can help you!
If you're child is struggling with reading (I realize most parents would use that time to teach and bond with their child) but for if any reason you feel someone else may be more patient or better for that situation, or you simply don't have time. I am willing to help!
OKAY... MUSIC!!!
This also pertains to reading music! I can help adults or children read sheet music; beginners intermediate, up through approx. the 2nd book of Alfred Piano. I can also help to teach reading music for beginner guitar ...
About Brandi
As a musician/singer I have performed in front of as many as 3,000 people, I recently had a full page feature in a magazine, as well as had FM Radio rotation for a song I wrote, sang and produced, and sold music on iTunes.
What a student may expect from this teacher:
Within 3-6 months students shall a have a good grasp on the foundation of their instrument/ craft; have a controlled sound; be playing/ singing what he/she hears; stronger, more defined tone; be able to play through/ sing through at least one song; have expanded range; confidence; and of course tackling personal goals set within the lessons.
My Goal is to facilitate bringing out what greatness already lies within and to assist in that growth, as well as teaching new information and the how to apply. I am not very strict on notation, as far as reading music (Piano and Voice). Lessons with me will more consist of the meatier portion of music how to use the instrument, developing the sound, understanding chord structures, playing/ singing what you hear, techniques and how to put it all together musically. However I will go through musical notation and reading chords, but it will not be a focus. (If you desire to play/ sing classically, I may not be the best teacher for you.)
For MUSIC PRODUCTION: Producing musical tracks and recording artist is the root and the focus. The curriculum is sculpted from LOGIC PRO X, REASON and PRO TOOLS software (subject to change). Students learn how to create what he/she hears and how to format it all together; Students learn how to track and record/ mix in the most professionally used software; Mixing and Mastering shall be touched upon as well.
When it comes to teaching and application of knowledge for each student I am serious about his or her growth; I don't want anyone wasting their money or time, so practice and dedication is necessary.

Since its founding in 2006, I have been involved Neighbor to Neighbor Outreach (NTNO), a non-profit organization whose goal it is to insure that the children, youth, and adults of inner-city St. Louis are provided tutoring for every imaginable subject.
My teaching style is quite simple and effective. I initially gauge the student's level of understanding of the subject or skill that he/she wishes to master. I then create a comprehensive learning plan which pushes the student to his/her limits while making the learning process both enjoyable and rewarding.

About Zaky
Music, and teaching have always been a big passion in my life. The ability to take knowledge of a subject that you have, and show, share, and shape someone and pass on that knowledge to them. It is an amazing feeling. I am a passionate, and caring instructor. My teaching style is encouraging, motivating, and educational. I fully believe that you can do anything you set your mind to, and I use that by showing my students that I believe in them.
I use a curriculum that was taught to me, and has been used in schools and universities. This curriculum fits all age groups and skill levels. Starting with Rock, moving to Funk, ending with Jazz.
I look forward to meeting you, and helping you reach your music goals!

I also have a Master's in Cello Performance, and can teach cello at the beginner to upper intermediate level. My experience in teaching is with modern (standard) cello, but I can also teach the basics of baroque cello (with gut strings and a baroque bow). Gut strings can be finicky, but their sound is warm and expressive. If you are interested to know more, just drop me a note! Another instrument I can teach is the Viola da Gamba, a very interesting early 6- or 7-string instrument with gut strings. (That's the instrument I'm holding in my profile picture!)
Aside from music, I have taught English as a Foreign and Second Language (in Bulgaria with Peace Corps,

I have taught elementary students to read for 18 years. I teach with a program that builds upon itself in steps. I will assess your child first and find where in the process they need to start. Some start with the alphabet letters and sounds, other start with phoneme segmentation. Phoneme segmentation means focusing on the letter sounds without the printed word in front of them. Others will need to start with phoneme segmentation and others with blending cvc words. It is a proven system that works. I have witnessed students systematically learning how to read with this system.
