Developed by the acclaimed artist Bulent G. based on his research, experiences, discoveries and inventions of close to 30 years as an active singer and teacher; surprisingly simple, direct and effective Guneralp Vocal Method is revolutionizing vocal training by helping many singers of all levels from diverse genres from opera to jazz learn and accomplish in their first lesson what they may have not been able to learn and accomplish even after years of vocal training, often to their amazement. Reviews speak for themselves.

Opera
"... just in one lesson I vocalized to high C with the knowledge he gave me. I actually, for the first time, knew how I did it. It was incredible. I was so happy that for the first time in years of voice training in upstate New York, 10 years in Manhattan, New York City, studying with teachers who sang at New York City Opera and the Metropolitan Opera, and not one of them was able to teach me what Bulent taught me in one lesson..."

Jazz
"I’ve been singing all my life and I never met such an amazing coach... I learned so much in one session and I cannot wait to learn more." - Yasmine K.

R&B
"Amazing! Simply amazing! I've taken lessons before, but none have ever stood out as much as this first one... Can't wait for the next one!" - Nestor C. (studying online from Texas)

Country
"There is a previous reviewer on Bulent's website who stated that after one lesson, he learned more than many years of previous lessons... I experienced the exact same thing. I sing primarily country music... Bulent's students sing many different genres which shows tremendous flexibility and effectiveness in his teachings." - Len M.

Choral
"From my very first lesson with Bulent I came away with more confidence in my singing than I had in a long time. I took lessons throughout my life but none were as successful for me as my experience with Bulent." - Kathy W.

Rock
"Over the past 6 years, I have performed more than 600 concerts worldwide. Bulent helped me to lay the groundwork for a voice that is well-prepared to take on the rigors of the road as well as the discipline to expect the best out of myself each night. From warming up and warming down, to lifestyle and technique, Bulent's instruction has encouraged, motivated, and prepared me to maximize my singing career." - Jon Ricci, lead singer, Lansdowne

Country
"I started getting lessons from Bulent not too long ago (around 8 months ago). Given my tight schedule, we've been only able to do 6 lessons in 8 months.

I have had lessons with several other coaches over the years as well (who were fantastic in their own way). However, Bulent is different. And I mean different in a great way. There is a previous reviewer on Bulent's website who stated that after one lesson, he learned more than many years of previous lessons. Maybe it's how learning singers naturally feel but I experienced the exact same thing. After the first lesson, I "understood" things that were missing before, or I was having a hard time connecting with.

Also, Bulent is just such a knowledgeable human being, and not only in singing. That knowledge, empathy and overall ability to connect with students is probably why Bulent is so darn effective. And, he's just a great, warm, caring fellow. You have an unusual combination of gifts but that is why everyone keeps coming back for lessons!

I have been a guitar player for many years in many bands (I'm 44) who sang only occasionally, though I have always dreamed to be a "singer". I have now started my own band where I am the lead singer and have played a few bar gigs!! I could not even imagine that a year ago. And, it's probably important to know that I sing primarily country music; I believe many of Bulent's students sing many different genres which shows tremendous flexibility and effectiveness in his teachings.

So, thank you Bulent. I look forward to our next lesson!" - Len M.

R&B
"Amazing! Simply amazing! I've taken lessons before, but none have ever stood out as much as this first one. Over the last 2 years I've built up bad habits that have left my voice strained after singing just one song, but with Bulent's guidance and knowledge, I was able to immediately feel the difference in my vocal stamina and range. Furthermore, Bulent emphasized the importance of proper breath control with simple but effective techniques - something that I essentially lacked. It was overall a wonderful experience!! Can't wait for the next one!" - Nestor C. (Studying online from Texas)

Jazz, American Songbook
"Bulent is an exceptional and unique teacher. Blending great clarity, passion, knowledge and warmth, he has provided me with the tools to dramatically enhance my vocal talents. Whether breathing, posture, legato, tone, control, phrasing or otherwise, Bulent is remarkably attentive, engaging and effective. As layers of insight and achievement are unlocked, his vocal wisdom and musicianship contributes to my ever-deepening understanding. In a profound way, Bulent teaches me to "not-do", to get out of the way and let my body do what it naturally wants to do; although this may sound like a blithe Zen epiphany it is anything but. . .it requires extensive explanations and refined explanations, often attempting one sound many dozens of times before the smallest breakthrough. It requires great patience and caring on the part of the teacher. I unequivocally recommend Bulent and earnestly thank him." - Jack Volpe, The Jack Volpe Project

Pop
"Bulent worked with me - a total stranger - with great care, deep knowledge, and a gentle desire to see me improve. And this is all the FIRST LESSON. I sing live a good bit in a popular style - but need better techniques to keep my voice healthy and improve my longevity per gig. Bulent understood this. I give my highest recommendation. I will work with him again soon." - Geoff L. (Studying online from Tennessee)

Songwriter, Rock
"I am a singer / songwriter / guitarist out of the Boston area who currently plays in two local bands. I had worked with a few vocal teachers before finding Bulent. Although I received good instruction from these other teachers, I must say that it was with Bulent where I began to really feel a noticeable difference in not only how I sounded but in how it felt to sing. Bulent picked up on and corrected numerous bad habits. His methodology is systematic and rooted in scaffolding. He knows how to push and is quite astute in his observations. His knowledge of singing is vast and wide ranging. He also provided helpful critique on the delivery of my songs touching on phrasing, articulation, and dynamics. He is somebody who cares not only about your singing but also about you. This care he offers with a generous and sincere heart. It is because of this that I consider Bulent not only my vocal teacher but a friend."
- Michael L.

Early Education
"I was looking for a teacher who could introduce my elementary-school-age daughters to basic music fundamentals, and Bulent exceeded my expectations! He created a lesson plan that combined vocal work with piano study, and tailored it to my girls' respective ages. Both girls worked with a standard piano method book and the Concone sight-singing book, developing both their piano technique as well as their knowledge and use of solfege. In addition, Bulent helped the girls build a strong musical vocabulary (with correct pronunciation!) along with a solid understanding of rhythm and meter. As they got older, my daughters became interested in learning different instruments, and they were able to transfer so much of what they learned from Bulent to their new studies. Bulent nurtured an appreciation and understanding of music that will stay with my girls throughout their lives, no matter what they choose to do. We were very lucky to find him!" - Jessica F.

In my very first lesson Bulent draft the anatomy of body to explain me how human body works as an instrument, no one didn’t really explain the functions of each part of this instrument so thoroughly, he opened my eyes of how to treat and use my body to create better voice experience. He also has different exercises focusing on different purposes, whether to sustain your air flow, or to correct your enunciation have better control on harder pitches and extra... I feel his class is all in all scientific. He finds where my problem is when practicing, and after his explanation I could already feel my performance was getting better. He’s very friendly and encouraging, the class is serious yet relaxing, we often end up laughing (usually I started it) when doing new exercises. I recommend going to him if you are looking for a vocal trainer.

I studied performance at The Berklee College of Music, and have performed all over the country!

About Aaron
Berklee College of Music graduate, Aaron M., has been teaching students of all ages for over 15 years.
"I love watching young musicians grow into seasoned players and have had tremendous success with all my students. I believe that learning songs and playing music is a critical element in the learning process of becoming a good drummer/pianist, and musician. This is why I bring a powered PA speaker, mp3 player, and (sometimes) a guitar to my lessons for the student to play along with and learn familiar songs. Over the years I've learned to strike a balance between Reading/Rudiments and Playing/having fun, so as to maintain students interests and growth."

My boys, ages 7 & 5, started piano lessons with Aaron a year ago. He has taught them technique & theory all while using songs they boys love. There are days that the boys are not the most cooperative. Aaron is amazingly patient and persistent in getting the boys to do their lessons. I really appreciate and have learned from this patience when it comes to the nightly practicing. I am pleased that the boys have been working with a male teacher and I think it really helps them relate to the music and the lessons. If you are looking for a patient yet knowledgeable piano teacher, I would definitely recommend Aaron.

View Full Profile

I have been on stage performing for more than 12 years.
I performed in several countries in Africa, Europe and USA.

About Albino
Albino was born in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, a country in southern Africa known for its rich musical and cultural heritage. Fueled by the resourcefulness and determination that have always characterized Mozambicans, he built his first guitar at 16 from a 5-liter can of oil, scrap wood, and strings made out of electrical cords.

Drawn to the sounds of neighborhood street musicians in Maputo, Albino began to play in a number of local bands. As with his home-made guitar, Albino wanted to combine styles and incorporate diverse elements in his music. For his talents to grow, he knew he needed experience new places, cultures, and sounds.

While studying music education and Performance at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane in Mozambique, he heard about the Berklee School of Music in Boston, USA, where he could expand his musical horizons
. Soon after, he was one of the first students to receive a full scholarship to Berklee through the African Scholars program. In 2009, he settled in Boston, Massachusetts.

At Berklee, he was exposed to a variety of influences, but wanted to go deeper into the roots of jazz and expand his knowledge of music. He auditioned and was selected to participate in the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, which is directed by Danilo Perez and the residency teachers, including Joe Lovano John Patitucci, and Terri Lyne Carrington. The Institute emphasizes an artist's original vision in jazz, and has helped Albino find his own unique voice in the art form.

Albino still felt the absence of his own Mozambican traditions in his music. With the help of his mentors, Richard Bona and Lionel Loueke, two of the most prominent African musicians in the United States of America today, he began to bridge that gap.

Today, Albino's music succeeds in combining many disparate parts into an organic whole. It incorporates his musical experiences from Mozambique, the U.S., and many other places around the world, combining rhythmic patterns and musical concepts to create a unique Moz-Jazz sound. He will always continue to combine and capture the energies of different musical traditions to create a unified and original musical style.

Albino's original composition “Mozambique Dance” was recorded by Jazz Revelation Records, a student-run record label at the Berklee College of Music, for the 8th annual album released in 2011. He also recorded “Awusiwana,” his own composition, for the Berklee 2012 summer album. His debut album, also called Mozambique Dance, is to be released in Spring 2013.

Albino is an active musician, and has performed in several countries including Mozambique, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Italy, the U.S., and Mexico. He has also produced and recorded various projects in Mozambique and in the United States. In 2012, he will graduate from Berklee College with a degree in Music Production & Engineering and Performance, and a minor in Acoustics and Electronics.

Emily is a great teacher, who really is invested in her students progress. She makes the lessons a great blend of technique work and repitore. When she picks music she gives options to the student and makes sure to pick something that helps you grow as a musician but isn’t too difficult or challenging. I strive to treat each student equally no matter how advance the student are. My job as a teacher is to provide students a tool in life. Students will learn the way life works through the art of music. Should the students decide to pursue music or not in the future, I only hope that students will apply what they've learned in music to their everyday problem solving.

Johnny received his Bachelors of Music at the University of Alabama, under the tutelage of Carlton McCreery, and a Masters of Music at The Boston Conservatory with Andrew Mark. Performing is one of the most rewarding experiences in music. From the election of a piece to the actual performance there is an enriching process. Learning about stylistic details of a piece, its historical context and trying to discern the composer’s intentions is such inspiring part of the process. Don’t hesitate in getting in touch!

About Ana Laura
I am a young professional flute and piccolo player from Argentina where I received my Bachelors of Music in Flute Performance from Universidad Nacional de Cuyo.
My passion for music took me to Europe where I completed my post graduate studies with a Masters in Flute Performance (2012-2014) and a Masters in Flute Pedagogy (2014-2017) both from the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Zurich University of the Arts), in Switzerland.
I started teaching flute in 2009 in a national program inspired in "El Sistema" which provides music lessons for kids all over the country. Since then I have taught privately in Spanish, English and German to people of all ages, levels and from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
As a musician I take part in orchestral and chamber music projects in Argentina, Switzerland and since last summer in Boston as well.
Besides the importance of learning the technique to play the flute, what I enjoy the most is the unique opportunity to communicate with others through the instrument, through the music and without words, regardless of your level. I am looking forward to share this passion with you!
