After Teaching voice for the past few years it's clear that one thing is universal no matter what kind of singer you are: It takes an impressive amount of courage and self awareness to be heard through song. The Voice is one of the highest form of emotional expression, taking the whole body; as the whole body is the instrument. In these lessons we will focus on breath, bring attention to tension, support, and placement of the voice. Giving you the freedom to be heard. Students will learn how to sing all genres of musical theatre with healthy technique and appropriate stylizing. Breath management, resonance, and gentle/healthy glottal onset and closure

Hello! I have a passion for helping students feel empowered and confident through the use of their voice, whether personal or professional. As someone who has struggled with and recovered from a vocal pathology, I feel that I have a unique perspective on the emotional taxations and challenges that vocal work can bring up. I strive to use compassion and the "love and logic" methodology with all of my students. I am passionate about voice pedagogy and voice science, and use a more anatomically based approach in my teaching, rather than metaphorical.

I received my master's degree in voice performance from the University of Northern Colorado in 2017, and hold a bachelor's in music education which I obtained from Colorado State University in 2013. I am a performing mezzo-soprano in a variety of genres, and I have a passion for teaching many different styles including classical, jazz, and musical theater.

I teach ages 12 and up!

Our ultimate goal as a singer is communication, and developing a healthy technique enables us to express freely! Whether you're singing on the stage professionally, or in front of friends and family, the goal is still the same- to sing your very best- and the tools we will build together will last a lifetime! Healthy Belt and Legit Singing will be addressed as well as many styles which are present in Musicals past and present.

From Belting to learning how to sing while dancing and acting, I can teach you these techniques and more. I have sung in several Musicals. Most recently, I played Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd with the University of North Texas Opera.
