I thought I wanted to take viola lessons. Then I read her website and I realized that she might be able to help me get my voice back! I thought there was no hope ever. She has been extremely generous with her time, and I haven't seen her yet, but I'm not buying the viola I was planning on buying. I play cello, and piano still, but I am going to see if she can help me with my voice. She sounds incredible. I never dreamed that I could even have HOPE like this!

I teach Mandolin using the Suzuki method and then branch out into into bluegrass mandolin playing. The mandolin is tuned like a violin double strings. So the left hand fingering is the same as the violin and the picking is similar to the guitar. If you play the violin then the main thing you need to learn is the right hand picking. If you play the guitar then you will need to learn the left hand fingering. Mandolin is a fun instrument to learn and to play.

About Speedy

I have been teaching music for over fifty years. I have taught many professional teachers and students over the years. I have played professionally in Many Classical and Jazz groups. My quick start method gets beginners playing music right away. I studied classical violin from Don Samuleson, Pr

I have over 30 years experience as a music teacher. Although guitar is my main instrument, I play several stringed instruments, including mandolin, well enough to teach beginners of ALL ages - children, teens, and adults. I have played mandolin with bluegrass bands, in the past.
Mandolin is a good first instrument for those who have never played a stringed instrument before, and for young children whose hands are not strong enough to play a larger instrument such as a guitar. It is fairly easy to learn, and fun to play.

A multi-instrumentalist, Cole teaches piano, guitar, ukulele, and bass. In addition to teaching, he also is a singer/songwriter, producer, and recording studio owner. He is currently working on his degree in Music at the University of Southern California . Although Cole didn’t grow up in a musical family, he discovered The Beatles when he was 6 years old. From that moment on, he was hooked. He knew that he wanted to be a guitarist and songwriter!
Cole began taking private guitar lessons in Thousand Oaks at age 7. He studied with the same teacher for 11 years! In that time, he also learned to play the piano, ukulele, bass, drums, percussion, and studied singing. An avid and eager student, Cole also began studying random instruments here and there. He even learned to play the harmonica! Because he knew he wanted to be a professional musician, he started recording his own albums at the age of 9.
Cole started teaching guitar lessons in the 8th grade as part of a “start your own ...

I took lessons from Cole last year in hopes to get a better feel for understanding the major/minor scales for lead guitar. I've been playing rhythm guitar for decades and wanted to work my way into playing lead guitar. He asked a ton of questions on what I wanted to accomplish and dialed in his lessons to address these needs. Great teacher and was always on time! I can truly say I am a better guitar player due to my time spent with Cole.

"When I met Concetta online, I had never played the Mandolin before. Now after 4 going on 5 months I am in the beginning stages of learning Vivaldi's Concerto for Mandolin. This feat was accomplished by Concetta's knowledge, understanding and compassion for this student who was clumsy, awkward and with little self confidence. I now know where I want to go with the Mandolin and with Concetta's guidance and wisdom, I know I will be given a strong foundation to achieve it. This has been the best experience for me and I know it will also be for you as well....:)"
