MUSIC (see fitness below): Shannon has numerous years experience teaching all skill levels on woodwinds, and beginning-intermediate piano & classical strings, using various approaches to best suit the students learning style, personality and needs.

Shannon is an active musician, who has been featured as a soloist, and in the flute and woodwind sections with various orchestras, chamber ensembles, opera orchestras and musical theatre within the United States, Italy, and Mexico. She is presently Principal Flute of the Baytown Symphony, Director of the Da Capo Chamber Ensembles, and is a substitute musician with the Orquesta Sinfnica
de Monterrey, Symphony of Southeast Texas, and Opera in the Heights.

Shannon has been a faculty member at various colleges, is currently Adjunct Professor of Music at Brazosport College, and also has an active private studio, Leigh Studios. She is the College Music Society South-Central Regional President; and is an Advisory Board member for the Houston Flute Club.

Shannon received her Masters of Music degree in Performance from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She also studied at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and received her B.A. degree in Performance, and B.S. degree in Music-Business from Winona State University, and has studied with world-renowned instructors.

Shannon has received grants for her work, from the Minnesota State Arts Board, American Federation of Musicians, Rome Festival Orchestra, and the Winona Music Guild, and was the 1997 recipient of the Vivian Menees Nelson Music Award.

Shannon is also a sponsored triathlete and trainer/coach/race director, and gives workshops on the importance of healthy living, nutrition and exercise for musicians. She is a board member for The Lake Charles Triathletes. And she is a strong advocate for music, health, and triathlon. I am pretty easy going. I want you to feel comfortable and at ease, but we do need to focus and can have fun doing it. :)
I utilize various methods for each instrument, which is determined by the students learning style and ability; needs, so this can change as time goes on (not sticking to one particular publishers materials). I have done (and continue to do) extensive research into materials available for each instrument I teach, and supplement with my own, to utilize the best out there for "YOU" for the best possible progress. While ensuring an extremely well-rounded musical education, so you can progress at the best possible rate. Since each student's potential is different, each will progress differently. This is also determined by your dedication to daily practice (the more you practice, the quicker you will progress & the more accomplished you will become). This is a 'Team Effort'; I give the guidance and tools. You practice, utilize learn these tools, and off we go! The sky is the limit!

I started with Patty's classes in 2001. I was 51 years old and getting pretty beat up by Menopause
and Endometriosis in particular. I was a Jogger for many years but needed to add a good class with
weights and high and low impact exercise to really get into good shape. My best friend recommended
Patty's Classes and rest as they say is History.

Everyone knows that Exercise is critical to good health and if you have any chronic conditions is it
especially important !! Patty's training sessions are the best I have ever gone to - in addition to the exercises, the knowledge
she has imparted to all of us has been just as rewarding. I schedule everything "around" my training.
because I never want to miss and the older I get the more critical it is for me !

It is not an exaggeration by any stretch of the imagination when I say that her training session have saved my life
because it is literally true. I had a serious illness a few years ago that took such a physical toll that there
is no way I could have survived it had I not been in the best physical shape of my life and that was at age 60 !
Oh and her Boot Camp class is the best ever - hands down.

When I began to train with Patty I was a vending machine addict. Patty helped me kick my habit! I would buy 4 pops a day @ $1.25. This added up to $100 a month. I would also buy other vending machine items, totaling up to an additional $40.00 a month.
My work junk food vending machine habit ran me $140.00 a month...which pays for over half of what I spend in training with Patty! When people tell me I must be rich to have a trainer, I tell them "I just stopped eating and drinking crap and it pays for my sessions"...people don't realize how much they spend on junk food....hope this helps someone else! What makes the Skype workout so convenient is, that I can literally get up, go to the living room and start my workout. I do not have to leave my home and that makes it so much easier to continue on with exercise. It is the perfect amount of working out. My experience with Darren was nothting short of outstanding! He has a neverending wheelhouse of moves that he can teach you. More importantly, he can help any bboy or regular dancer with the most important aspect of dance: staying on beat 100% of the time while doing these moves! He was kind, patient, punctual, and very talented. Anyone who wants to learn dance the right way can accelerate their learning by working with Darren!

Darren was very patient and nonjudgmental. I think he is a very good instructor. I was a little unsure as to how well a dance lesson would go over the internet but he put those fears to rest. I give him five stars for his knowledge and because he made me feel comfortable.

Hello there! My name is Alyssa Smith and I’ve been a choreographer and dance instructor for 5 years. I have danced ever since I was three years old, which allowed me to develop my career path at a young age.

I have an extensive range of genres that I’ve studied under including: ballet, Cecchetti, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, commercial dance, pointe, and ballroom. I attended Grand Valley State University where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Dance in 2016. This degree has allowed me to book auditions, perform at concerts, and book my first movie (Pitchfork) in 2015. Currently, I am working with one of the lead choreographers in the industry, Glenn Douglas Packard, where I choreograph commercial dance to elite individuals for videography purposes. Dance is my passion and I want to be able to create that same feeling in the stude

In addition to dance, I also have an extensive love for health and wellness. In 2016, I took it upon myself to study independently for a personal training certification through the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM). With this certification, I have been able to grow a clientele of 40 people and have started my own LLC, Alyssa Lenay Fitness. I am more than willing to educate people on the effects of a healthy lifestyle and what it takes to maintain one!

Very knowledgeable on dance techniques, form, dynamics, and musicality.

Also a beyond creative choreographer. She really feels the songs and combines great athleticism with sass and personality.

Every piece she puts out is a story and I'd highly recommend her.

In just the couple months I have been working with Alyssa I am already noticing major improvement in myself and my dancing. I am loosing fat, gaining muscle, and am able to control my body in my dancing more. She is very motivational, easy to talk to, and is constantly pushing me. She understands my goals and knows exactly what to do to help me achieve them. I love working out and taking dance classes from her! :)
