Charlie is the most patient and musical music teacher I have ever experienced and I am old! His approach to teaching is first rate. He is incredibly knowledgeable about all forms of music.

This guy is incredible. He creates a safe space where you feel inspired to improvise and experiment with music. He showed me songs that changed my music taste and playing style completely. The best part of learning with him is that it feels like you are jamming with a good friend. He not only is an incredible musician but also a great mentor. I have only good things to say about Charlie

Charlie McClaren is one of the greatest music teachers I've ever had. Learning music with him never felt like a chore, rather it was a journey we shared. He's patient and understanding, but he'll make sure you understand the music thoroughly. He showed me that music was more than an art form, it's a lens you see the world through. I can't recommend Charlie enough, no matter where you are on your musical journey, he'll take you to the next level!

Bass is the foundational element of music. It's an instrument that usually plays a supportive role while maintaining the integrity of the groove, and the feel of the overall sound. My experience as a bassist has been performing with a wide variety of ensembles from soul and funk to folk and rock. This is an instrument I have a passion for teaching because of it's link between the rhythmic and harmonic elements of music.

About Scott

Hello fellow music lover! My name is Scott, and I'm a musician with 15+ years of performance experience. I've studied performance at Berklee College of Music and performed in various configurations from funk/soul ensembles, to folk-rock bands and I write my own music that I perform as a solo art

Scott is a patient and supportive teacher. He helped me tap into my musical intuition while also supporting a practical understanding of music theory. Working with Scott felt like having a mentor, rather a teacher, to support me on my musical journey.
Kelly
Scott taught me introductory drums. Scott is warm, funny, and adaptable - he made learning fun and easy for me. I didn't feel dumb when I made mistakes, in no small part because Scott was very encouraging and pointed out the things I was doing well!

Another reason to take lessons with Scott - he's incredibly talented and plays multiple instruments. For example, I wanted to practice playing drums in a "band" setting, so Scott grabbed an electric bass and we started jamming.

10/10 would recommend, especially if you like laughing a lot while you learn a new skill!

I have been under the instruction of Noah for a little over two months now and I really enjoy his teaching style. I am older and not a proficient reader of music so Noah has had to start with very basic skills for me. He has done a great job of making it understandable. I am learning to read music and to play the ukulele at the same time, and am enjoying the online lessons.

I give him ten from ten definitely one of the greatest instructors either in the experience that he has or in explaining and the most important thing he is respectful i recommend so much!

Great at making sure you understand the basics of music theory before proceeding to the instrument itself. Helping me become a more confident and smarter musician.
Francine D.
I've taken lessons before and have always become disappointed because there was never any structure to the lessons and theory was treated as secondary. I wanted to really delve into theory because that is the knowledge needed to have no limits. Finally, I found Jimmy. He is a true teacher. Jimmy makes sure he teaches you the theory behind what you are doing. I have been playing for over ten years and was not progressing. After just a few lessons with him, I am starting to truly see the fretboard. I am finally excited again!

"good all-around teacher

Aaron is a positive and inspiring instructor. He is very competent on the instrument (and I believe he is well versed in more than just bass guitar) and is a working musician. In my lessons he has attempted to guide me into territory I was unfamiliar with in a way that I can understand. Sometimes that has not been so easy, as with Modes, but he is willing to modify the lessons according to what I have wanted to learn and how easily I can absorb it. If there's something I'm not grasping, he tries to explain it in a different manner and with a little effort on my part, I can comprehend it. He definitely wants his students to learn and have fun, while also making it challenging."

"David did a wonderful job, teaching me bass via Zoom with a lot of focus on what I wanted to do. Even though my interests ranged from technical to classical to theoretical to funk, he always had something he could show me and proved to have great knowledge of the instrument as well as of music theory and history. I would recommend him to anyone."

"I've only had a couple of lessons so far, but am very, very pleased. Instead of being the next guy to show up, and Jonathan trying to remember who I am and what I'm here for, Jonathan actually spent time through the week looking for resources that would help me and what I want to accomplish. While I spend 30 minutes a week in the actual lesson, and I spend some time throughout the week practicing, Jonathan is actually investing time for the lesson outside of the lesson, and that's really important to me.

Jonathan has a very diverse background, and experience with lots and lots of instruments and musical styles, which all help in the lessons - strategies from concert bass that electric bass players can incorporate, chord inversions common to classical music which can help "pop" type progressions to move forward better, and places where it's appropriate to play funk or Latin styles in straight-ahead folk sorts of tunes. I highly recommend Jonathan, even if just to sit and talk about music for a couple of hours."
