students never believing that any concept is too difficult to understand or
master. I have a love for the game that I want to instill in others
I have hundreds of chess books and have gotten to know lots of chessplayers

I have a LOT of patience! All you need is the desire to learn to crochet. If you never have crocheted before, I will get you crocheting. If you want to learn, but believe you can’t learn because someone told you can’t learn to crochet, I will prove that you can crochet. If you have crocheted a long time ago, but forgot all of it or most of it, I will bring it back to you. If you already know the basics of crocheting, but don’t know how to get beyond the granny square, I can get you to the next level. If you know crocheting basics, but gave up because you make a lot of mistakes, I will show you tricks to avoid them and show you how to read your work so that mistakes are found sooner rather than later. If you know the basics, but want to learn a different technique such as color work, post stitches, or more, I can teach you. Do you have trouble reading patterns or charts, I can take the mystery out of them.
Because of COVID-19, I only teach online for now. I use Zoom for my teaching ...

I looked up online lessons because the quarantine had started and I had purchased a sweater pattern that I really wanted to make, and thought i should be able to accomplish. Many people on Ravelry had complained about the pattern's shortcomings -- some had given up on it, though the people that did complete it, had great results - over 95 people posted pictures of their results, though some aren't quite like the advertised picture. I really wanted to make that sweater though, so I thought it was time to get some real lessons, and found Amy. The way she talked me through the pattern and other patterns, I totally got how to look at patterns and think about them. She lets you know her thought process so you can think it through yourself. Now, when i rip something out to do something over, it's not because i don't know what i'm doing so much as i now know what i'm trying to accomplish. The sweater is almost done and btw, looks just like the picture!! I've realized that it's a great idea to tell Amy whatever i'm thinking and she will give the best advice. Oh, and from the first lesson, she got me getting straight edges easily (now, it makes so much sense but at the time it seemed like a fluke whenever i had a straight edge!)

Book NowI have always had a passion for Fashion. Born in Miami and raised in Texas, this Fashionista began her sewing journey at the age of twelve receiving lessons and sewing tips from my mother. From there I started making my own clothing and began wearing my fashions to school which led t me sewing and designing clothing for my fellow school mates as well. Word began to travel that there was a young new designer in the community, so my clientele and skill level began to grow. In 2004 I officially incorporated Random Star Couture a custom clothing brand which caters to Men, Women, Children, and Home Decor. As years progressed I became a professional Sewing Instructor for JoAnn Fabrics & Crafts along with teaching private clients. I also branched out into wardrobe styling and costuming. Which gave me even more access in the Fashion industry allowing me the opportunities to have worked with such clients/ companies as Roca Wear (Clothing Brand), Aeropostle, Lil' Wayne (Six Foot Seven Foot- ...
