To me, music is all about personal expression and individuality. I want my students to seek and find what makes music special to them and pursue it. Whatever my students goal is, I can adapt to each of their unique needs and to create a curriculum that works best for them.

There are two main approaches to my teaching philosophy. One of these is professionally oriented while the other is experimental/hobbyist. I prepare my students to be able to master the unique techniques, interpretation and professional aspects that is expected in a professional setting such as auditioning for a classical music job opportunity, recording session musician, solo performer, jazz or popular music ensemble.

I also value and understand the desire to simply play the flute for fun and provide a more open/experimental approach to my teaching where I expose the student to potentially interesting things for them and go from there.

Here are some of the topics than can be covered:

My 5 year old takes classes with her. She is a very shy and anxious child. Ms Paniyeva has been very patient and accommodating. She can read and play in 5 months. I can’t believe her progress. I think we were very lucky to find her. My daughter calls her always Smiling.

I'm satisfied with the lessons I took, even though seven months of piano still not enough.

I learned a lot in seven months with Liana. I was pleased to have her, but I'm still slow. I think I need six months more in order to gain enough speed. Anyway, Liana is a good instructor to start with. She encourages and leaves you with no fear.

I have over 20 years experience teaching flute players ranging from beginners through advanced. We work hard and have a lot of fun!

Many of my students have had successful auditions for honor/state groups and youth orchestras, and have won scholarships for college. My local students perform several times throughout the year in studio recitals, local flute events and giving back to the community. I work with my online students to find ways for them to perform as well.

I love teaching and watching my student achieve new goals and play things they thought were impossible. Everything takes work, but with repetition, encouragement, and fun, it is all possible!

About Kerri

I believe that each student will be successful when they enjoy learning and have something concrete to show for it. It is my privilege to work with students to achieve their goals in an encouraging, fun, hard-working environment. I have worked for over 20 years with many different kinds of stude

I do not have enough positive words to say about Kerri. She is AMAZING and WONDERFUL. I was very skeptical of taking lessons from someone I found randomly on the internet but turned out she has been an incredible teacher and awesome mentor. She has taught me to play high notes in just two lessons. I am a beginner student and she has been so patient and given me great tactics to get my embouchure and aperture correct. I look forward to every lesson with her and am excited to practice! She is the most incredible teacher EVER! If you need or want to learn flute then shop no further as she knows so much about flutes, music, and just generally a very warm and incredible teacher.

"I took mandolin lessons from Tara for about a year and a half, and I can't say enough good things about her. I was a complete beginner when I started with her, and now I feel prepared and comfortable when I play at jams. Tara taught me a wide repertoire of tunes. She taught me ways to play different chords, how to move chords, how different players may use different chords in different styles, how to read guitar chords, how to adapt when guitars use capos, and how to simplify or add chords. She has really good insight on how to start improvising and taking breaks. I think she adapts her teaching to use the technique that will help make the concept make sense to you. She is a lot of fun to learn from, and it is super inspiring to watch her play. Tara is an awesome teacher, and I highly recommend her!"

"I've been taking lessons from Bobby for 6 months. I already play piano.... but drums are very different from piano. I like his teaching technique and his patience. He's very understanding, his lessons have lots of variety and are fun. He takes the time to get to know his students, so he understands what each student wants to achieve from their lessons. I'm learning a lot from him...two thumbs UP."

8 Simple Steps for Learning Fast Piano Songs

Struggling to get through the fast piano songs you're dying to play? Here, Helendale, CA teacher Sylvia S. shares her tips for success... Piano is an easy instrument to learn. You push a key, and a note sounds. Compared to instruments like the violin, which can take months and months of dedicated practice before a pleasant sound comes out, piano seems like a walk in the park. But because of this, it’s also one of the easiest instruments to learn to play poorly. Many piano students be …
