About Tyler
I am a very passionate music teacher, it's really who I am. I thrive off of opening the doors of music to people and teaching them a foundation upon which to grow. I graduated from UMASS Lowell with a Bachelors in Music Performance in 2014 and have 6 years of teaching experience in and around the Boston area. I play and manage a band called Skyfoot and have for about 3 years now. I have played in 35 different states, playing with all kinds of musicians across the United States. The times I spent playing and learning from the musicians at school and on the road have been some of the most insightful of my life.

Been meeting with Tyler for 4 lessons now and cannot give anything but the highest praise for him. Before we began we set the outline for what
I wanted to do and how he could help - the planning was good but the execution far exceeded anything I could hope for. His insight, technical ability, and highly positive attitude makes him the perfect partner to "re-introduce" me to the guitar (35+ year break in playing). Cons: initially opted for 1/2 hour lesson - too short. Pros: understands my goals, appreciates the musical genre that is important to me, great balance between teaching during the lesson and giving me things to work on on my own, very positive and encouraging attitude....and many more "pros". My suggestion is - if you are thinking of going with him give him a call - very easy to talk to and you will likely find out what I have found - Tyler is top notch!!

I've taken about 10 flamenco (and some bossa nova) guitar lessons with Guilherme so far. I had taken flamenco lessons in the past with other instructors, but this is the first time I've actually made progress. He's done a great job of creating a lesson plan and teaching a very technical style, while keeping it fun and exciting. I really look forward to my lessons every week, which is a credit to Guilherme's ability to balance method with fun. If you're at all interested in latin styles or jazz, I very highly recommend Guilherme!

My focus as a guitar teacher is to give you the tools that can help you be the musician you want to be. I'm dedicated to ensuring that what you learn in my lessons will go towards practical use and composing music that is meaningful to you.

About Kian
Hi! I'm a Boston-based composer, performer and educator from Gibraltar whose recent concert works explore the intersections of traditional and graphic notations, indeterminacy (improvisation) and colour.

I began playing guitar at the age of 12 and developed a quick affinity towards music. In 2014 I was accepted to Berklee college of music and graduated with a degree in Composition in 2018. During my time at Berklee I studied guitar with Freddie Bryant and Rick Peckham, composition with Andrew List, Marti Epstein and Tamar Diesendruck and ensemble work with Simon Shaheen and Ned Rothenberg. As an active member of the Berklee community I was a peer advisor and orientation leader, member and later co-chairperson of SAAVE (student allies in anti-violence education) and a peer health educator at the Berklee Health and Wellness department.
In 2018, due to my dedication to social justice and health, I received the Berklee Health and Wellness leadership award.

I began composing for guitar in 2014 and later started writing for chamber ensembles and orchestra. My concert works have been performed and workshopped by a variety of performers at Berklee College of Music as well as highly-established and reputable ensembles such as the MIVOS quartet, Loadbang and String noise.

In 2018, my composition “Consciousness” String Quartet No.1 (2017) recieved the Bill Maloof award from the Berklee Composition Department and was featured on the annual Professional Writing Departments CD.

I continue to reside in Boston, MA, pursuing teaching opportunities and continuing to perform and compose.

From exercises to strengthen your fingers and hands, to exercises to strengthen your creativity, I will provide you with everything you need to learn how to set and achieve your goals on guitar. I try to provide accessible material for beginners and more challenging material for more experienced players. I think it's crucial to understand theory and know how to sight read. You can also expect to be playing your own improvised solo after just one lesson. Let's get rockin!

About Shane
Hi! My name is Shane and I just graduated from Northeastern University having majored in Music Business, with a minor in Recording. I started taking guitar lessons when I was 5 and have done everything I can to surround myself with music since then. My exposure to guitar, theory, and sight reading helped me immensely when I picked up the trumpet in fourth grade band. My passion for music has provided me with opportunities to compete in Jazz Festivals in Monterey, play with orchestras on the stage at Carnegie Hall in NYC, and meet some of the nicest, most talented people the industry has to offer.

After completing my freshman year at Wheaton college in Norton, MA, I felt I needed a change. I transferred to Northeastern, but first, joined a program called Projects Abroad that allowed me to teach music in South Africa to grades K-7. This i
s where I discovered my passion for teaching. This is where I learned the importance of music education. It allowed the music teacher and me to create a safe community where kids could learn and have fun in school, and after school as well.

This inspired me to reach out to Boston schools that were lacking music programs. Upon spending my first year in Boston at Northeastern as a sophomore I started an after school music program at Cathedral High School. CHS didn't have any music classes at the time I started the program. We went from making beats by banging on trash cans, to fundraising for guitars, to implementing a full time music course at the school.

When I'm not teaching or planning after school lessons, I'm usually making my own music, or listening to music. I grew up listening to guitarists like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, and Santana. While I always find time for these classic rock legends I currently enjoy a lot of soul/R&B.

Music's versatility can provide comfort, and foster creativity. I hope as a teacher I can help you access all the tools you need to enjoy music to the fullest!

I’ve worked with Shane a few times now, in the Cathedral High School Music Program as well our own independent music projects, and I’ve seen him teaching in the Brookline Public School system. He is a great communicator, collaborator, and teacher. He really knows his stuff but more importantly he knows how to effectively convey what he knows to others.
I am a bass player and he helped me a lot with the electric guitar basics, always explaining things clearly and making it really fun to learn and play. I would recommend Shane to anyone anytime!

I am totally passionate about teaching, and I provide that spark that motivates my students into getting the best out of themselves.

I follow a modern customer-oriented approach based on win-win and long term success. The guitar student is an aspiring virtuoso, and I am as patient as possible with the students and following their own desires.

As long as he/she focuses on the image of the perfect player he/she wishes to become, I am committed to the full extend to motivate, encourage, help, assist, suggest improvements, correct mistakes, answer questions and everything that will speed up the student's ramp-up into becoming that perfect player.

About Aksel
Experience

Master professional guitarist with 25 years of experience playing a large variety of genres such as classical, blues, jazz, country, heavy-metal, flamenco, and more.

Cosmopolitan modern musician, songwriter, and improviser with a worldwide background including European, Latin, African, Middle-Eastern and Asian genres.

Exceptionally trained musical ears allowing seamless integration and pairing with bands and music setups.

Experienced guitar instructor and mentor focusing on achieving personal goals of each of my students coming from various skills, ages, backgrounds, and locations

Great band leadership and team-building skills based on goal driven and a win-win approach.

As a music guitar lover, I have been sharing my passion for my art gradually as soon as I ramped up my instrumental mastery. I have been free
lancing with guitar mentorship and tutorship for about 10 years now, and have had students from all over the world.

I mainly specialize in 2 types of students:
- Entry level students who are just getting started. Sometimes these students don't even own an instrument, sometimes they barely know what a guitar is made of.
- Players with a few years of playing guitar abilities who stalled for various reason: not enough practice, not enough motivation, bad habits initially acquired that hindered their progressions.

I can play a large variety of genres, from blues to jazz, metal to flamenco, classical to folk, etc. I stress on acquiring good habits early on while adapting to the student specific skills, or sometimes, limitations.

Teaching Method

I usually group all guitar skills in 3 different categories:
- Chords
- Arpeggios
- Solos
I then break all the unique intricacies and specificities based on the student interest and existing skill. Everything else depends on the student's favorite genre.
My standard procedure is to pick 3 songs from a genre that the student wants to play, ordered by level of difficulty, and break them down into fragments that subsequently constitute the homework for the next sessions.

My specialty is to make sure the student eventually becomes self-reliant and independent. I teach them the power of their ears. I teach them techniques to help them improve their ears to be able to play any song that they would like in the long term. There is a bit of theory involved, but it's mostly practice.

I am totally passionate about teaching, and I provide that spark that motivates my students into getting the best out of themselves.

I follow the students own desires. I use a modern customer-oriented approach based on win-win and long term success. The guitar student is an aspiring virtuoso. As long as he/she focuses on the image of the perfect player he/she wishes to become, I am committed to the full extend to motivate, encourage, help, assist, suggest improvements, correct mistakes, answer questions and everything that will speed up the student's ramp-up into becoming that perfect player.

Mr. Allouch is an excellent instructor. For me, placing my fingers on the guitar is hard, but he taught me to put my fingers in a perpendicular position and to make sure to press hard on the string so it will make a good sound. Thanks to that advice, it is easier to play the notes correctly. He has made it fun for me to learn guitar. He is an excellent guitar player and I am very happy that he has shared his passion with me. Merci beaucoup Mr. Allouch!

Can anyone just pick up a guitar and start playing? With a little help from your friend, Ben, you can! Be ready to learn the basics of rhythm, strumming, picking, chords and tuning with me!

About Benjamin
Learning can come easy for some or be a struggle, and it helps to know how someone else has dealt with the situation to see yourself get through it. That's what made me want to be an English teacher; my best teachers have always been those who know their stuff well, and who pulled me through the struggle to see the benefit for myself. Over the years, I've helped different folks work on their English conversation, their art skills, acting, and all kinds of reading and writing. What I want most is to see you grow and succeed!

I am a licensed high school English teacher with BPS, and I have also studied art and graphic design. I have taught in schools and smaller settings to students from 12-79, and from various language backgrounds. I speak English and Portuguese fluently and have strong Spanish, as well.
While I am currently teaching onl
