Classical Voice:
I teach a World Famous Voice Method passed down to me by mentor the late, great Dante Pavone. Dante was born in Italy in 1910 to a famous Opera singing mother. He toured the whole world with her and they even sang with Caruso, the most famous Opera singer that ever lived. If you really want to learn the most solid breathing technique you will ever learn in your life you have come to the right place. I was told by one of Dante's students that singers from NY City Opera used to sneak up to Boston to study with Dante, because their teachers were ruining their voices and Dante would have to cure them.

This teacher misrepresented her ability to teach the C system chromatic button accordion. I don't believe that she has ever played one. I asked her before purchasing a set of classes if she knew this instrument and was competent to teach it, and she said she was.

She didn't have one, so she could never demonstrate anything I asked about. She didn't know the key layout. She didn't know the conventions for numbering fingers. She didn't know the basic home key scale pattern.

I waited until I'd finished four classes with my new teacher before writing this so I'd have a good basis for comparison. He is immensely better at teaching this than she was. It further convinced me that she never should have represented herself as competent to teach this particular instrument.

As a 63-year old I was concerned it would tough for me to learn. I'm sure I don't retain and absorb like a 12-year old but I AM LEARNING TO PLAY. Justin is very patient and accommodating and I am inspired to practice weekly. Most of all I'm having fun.

I have a wide range of experience with performing many genres of music and always seek to bring out the best and most confident performance in all of my students. During my Masters at the IU Jacobs School of Music, I specialized in the performance of Baroque vocal repertoire and learned technical exercises that can help increase flexibility of technique in singing any genre of music. My diverse performance experiences across classical, opera, baroque, and musical theater enable me to encourage all students to reach their full potential with their singing voice and confidence that radiates into all areas of their lives.

Zach was of great help to me during a production of Beauty and the Beast. While I have had lots of experience on stage, my part of Belle’s father Was the first that required me to sing as part of a Duet. I struggled to ‘find my voice’ until tech week (getting nervous) was under way. With Zach’s help I managed to turn in not only a competent performance but one which I received praise for! (Not just from my family)
I think Zach provided exactly what I needed to pull it off!

Zach has spent decades honing his craft with continuous, disciplined practice, many kinds of performing and constantly pushing outside his comfort zone. His critique has always been kind and constructive and he has always encouraged me to try new songs, perform in new venues and push myself to be my best

"I had the best years with Holly as my voice teacher. She showed me ways to expand my voice and be confident in ways I didn't even know we're pissible, and overall transformed me into a better singer. I can confidently say that she is the reason I was selected into all of my high honor achievements in chorus! In addition to being an extraordinary voice teacher, she was a friend to me and helped me through many tough times. She is so understanding and patient and any student of hers is really lucky!"

"I am currently working with Marissa to improve my vocal range and ability. Singing is simply a hobby for me, but I am in my church choir. Marissa has been assisting me in not only technique but also showing me the relationship between my choir singing and solo pieces. She is also very kind, organized, and never speaks "above" me."

"Kendra's passion for voice is unmatched. It's clear that when you're in a lesson with her that the only thing in the world that she wants is for you to improve. The only thing surpassed by her desire for your improvement is her knowledge of the voice/music. And let me tell you, her knowledge is unfailing.

It was my pleasure to take voice lessons from her for two semesters at university and I hope you have the pleasure to also take lessons from such a great teacher and person."

"I took lessons with Rachel through the secondary lesson program at Oberlin College and it was a great experience! What I loved was that her teaching goals extended beyond how I sounded in the lesson itself, but also focused on trying to give me the tools for being able to properly and productively practice on my own. I also love her emphasis not just on proper technique and musicality, but also on expression."
