Thomas is honestly an amazing musician and teacher. He was really patient with me. Despite having to deal with major timezone differences (as I live in Myanmar), he took the time to figure it out. Also, he helped me figure out the stuff it took me months to figure out. He also really knows what he's doing. I learned so much in that hour of practice. 10/10 would recommend him.

I am very pleased with Lee. She is very helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. We spent time assessing where I am skills wise and what I am seeking from these lessons. I really appreciate that so as to not waste either of our time. Thanks Lee.

I’m just starting to learn and I’ve tried a couple other classes but it’s difficult to follow along with live lessons. Hers was slower and more detailed, showing the chords clearly- and talking about the timing was very helpful! She even took the time to answer my question about being unable to hold the strings correctly. Great teacher!

Our daughter has really enjoyed getting to know Lee and genuinely looks forward to the lesson time with her each week. We’re also pleased with how well our daughter has been doing on her instrument since beginning lessons.

Mr Yakov is very pleasant, patient and professional. He makes learning fun. One of my daughters is very shy and particular. I was concerned for her first violin. But she ended up loving the lesson and the instructor. We did some lessons online and at his studio. During the online lesson, the connection with our internet was horrible. He could hear her playing but she couldn't hear him. Yet, patiently, he got creative and taught the lesson with my daughter through chat. The environment of the studio is comfortable. You can tell he's passionate about what he does. That left me with a great impression of him. We look forward to more lessons with him for as long as we can.
Thanks Mr Yakov!!!

I've been teaching the bassoon for over ten years, and I love it. It is my main instrument as a performer, and in the last few years I've specialized in helping students switch to the bassoon from other instruments. Whether you've never seen a bassoon or you're preparing for a professional audition, I can help you with the intricacies of this wonderful instrument.

About Cory

I am a classically trained bassoonist with a Master's degree from London's Royal College of Music. I love finding each student's own learning style to tailor the experience, and I encourage my students to make their own decisions about musical expression (with plenty of guidance, of course!). I

"Am a beginner with musical background on other instruments. Have only had one lesson so far, but it was great. Kristilyn communicates concepts simply and clearly and puts you at ease. A true educator, she understand where you are having problems and knows how to help you fix them. She not only explains the 'how,' but also the 'why,' and teaches with comparisons to common every day actions to illustrate concepts as they relate to playing the bassoon. She answered questions before my lesson, which greatly aided me as I was deciding which brand and model bassoon to buy. I feel lucky to have found such a person to take on a bassoon beginner. Can hardly wait to advance to be able to mine the knowledge and experience of this resource in more depth."

"Jack is an AMAZING bassoon player and FANTASTIC instructor. He has taught my young son for over a year. We audited other music teachers who said they taught bassoon but really only knew the basics of teaching bassoon, their real expertise were other instruments. I was particularly impressed by Jack's ability to relate to my 11 year old son. He makes learning the bassoon not only informative but engaging and fun. Jack not only teaches classical bassoon music but is open to teaching modern pieces that my son wanted to learn. (I mean, how cool is it that my 11 year old kid busts out the Star Wars Cantina Song on his bassoon.) Jack plays bassoon regularly with orchestras which gives him real world experience that he passes on to his students. When I have seen him play professionally, it amazed me that someone so young could show such majority and skill with his musical instrument. Jack is also a great problem solver. When my son has problems with a piece, Jack is able to hear the problem and give my son techniques on how to fix them. When my son had problems with the instrument itself or the double reed, Jack was able to show my son HOW to fix them and not just fix it for my son himself. I highly recommend Jack has an instructor for students both young and old."

"Kristilyn is a great instructor. She has helped my daughter get back to playing bassoon for high school band after a one year hiatus, and she is doing great! The one on one instruction and ability to do the lessons from home make things super flexible for our busy family. I wasn't sure at first how the online lessons would work, or if it would be as effective as meeting with someone in person, but the lessons have definitely exceeded my expectations!"
