"Experienced drum teacher of 15 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of rudiments and reading. I specialize in rock, funk, jazz, and world music. I use an assortment of books, mostly hand outs, and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: sound recording equipment, sheet music, and more. Let's grab some sticks and rock and roll!"
About Aaron
"I love watching young musicians grow into seasoned players and have had tremendous success with all my students. I believe that learning songs and playing music is a critical element in the learning process of becoming a good drummer/pianist, and musician. This is why I bring a powered PA speaker, mp3 player, and (sometimes) a guitar to my lessons for the student to play along with and learn familiar songs. Over the years I've learned to strike a balance between Reading/Rudiments and Playing/having fun, so as to maintain students interests and growth."

I have over 10 years experience teaching drums to all different ages. I received the “Outstanding Youth Advocate” award from Berklee College of Music's Community Affairs Dept. in 2014 for teaching at the Boys&Girls Club in Allston, MA. I perform a lot around the northeast U.S., spanning a diverse spectrum of styles.
If desired, I can teach out of several books - including Garwood Whaley - Musical Studies for Intermediate Snare Drummer, Charley Wilcoxon - The All-American Drummer: 150 Rudimental Solos, Charles Dowd - Funky Primer for the Rock Drummer, and Tommy Igoe - Groove Essentials 1.0+2.0
Or I can teach without any books as I have a wealth of knowledge in me!
I teach rudiments, hand+foot techniques, coordination exercises, grooves - stemming from rock to funk to jazz, bossa nova, samba, west african, and much more.

I believe in music as a powerful tool for social changing and personal development. Even tho I'm a professional musician, I also have always believed in the deep connections of music as a therapeutic / personal care practice.
That's why usually my class is divided in a theoretical part where I explore more of the whys and hows but also dedicate the other half to apply this and explore each person musical taste because we all love different styles and they all have something to offer to us. Explore and expand our musical tastes is how we grow, develop our love to music and our understanding of each other in a society.
About Caio
Caio has been working around the globe as a musician, sound engineer and producer, working in the company of names such as Berklee College of Music, Robert Plant, Carol Burnett, The Pixies, Kansas, Charlie Puth, and others.

Rhythm is a universal language. The drums were my first musical love. They can transport you to a place of pure expression, but "with great power comes great responsibility." My favorite drummers are the ones who can effortlessly craft an infectious groove, but know exactly how much space to leave for the music to breathe. My approach is to teaching drums is to help find the rhythms that move you and break them down to their simplest forms and build them back piece by piece until your able to play along with your favorite tunes!
About Scott
My name is Scott, and I'm a musician with 15+ years of performance experience. I've studied performance at Berklee College of Music and performed in various configurations from funk/soul ensembles, to folk-rock bands and I write my own music that I perform as a solo artist.
I love teaching because it allows me to share my love of music and help people grow creatively in the direction of their choice. My feeling is, if you're choosing to invest in your artistic development, it should be an enjoyable experience based around what you're interested in learning about. To that end, all of my lessons are customized to the tastes and preferences of each student. We'll identify the goals you'd like to work towards, the music you want to play and take concrete steps in line with your creative vision.

Another reason to take lessons with Scott - he's incredibly talented and plays multiple instruments. For example, I wanted to practice playing drums in a "band" setting, so Scott grabbed an electric bass and we started jamming.
10/10 would recommend, especially if you like laughing a lot while you learn a new skill!
