I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of rudiments and reading. I specialize in rock, funk, jazz, and world music. I use an assortment of books, mostly hand outs, and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: sound recording equipment, sheet music, and more. Let's grab some sticks and rock and roll!"

I will tailor the lessons to your capabilities and personal taste while giving you all the tools you need to progress and enjoy the instrument.
Through specific exercises and playing along with your favorite music, you will release yourself from any limitations. The sky is the limit.
Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced student aiming at becoming a pro, I will help you get there.

I have over 10 years experience teaching drums to all different ages. I received the “Outstanding Youth Advocate” award from Berklee College of Music's Community Affairs Dept. in 2014 for teaching at the Boys&Girls Club in Allston, MA. I perform a lot around the northeast U.S., spanning a diverse spectrum of styles.

Or I can teach without any books as I have a wealth of knowledge in me!

I teach rudiments, hand+foot techniques, coordination exercises, grooves - stemming from rock to funk to jazz, bossa nova, samba, west african, and much more.

I work with each student on a long term plan to achieve their musical goals on the drum set. Students will focus on relaxed technique, musicality, rehearsal skills, and overall mindfulness which they will be able to apply to their daily practice routines, gigs, auditions, and performances.

Come prepared to learn, work hard, and have fun! I've been teaching private students in the local area for several years. Together we'll work on improving your basic and advanced technique to make playing more natural and comfortable. We'll also work on songs of all genres and of your choice to expand your playing abilities. I believe in music as a powerful tool for social changing and personal development. Even tho I'm a professional musician, I also have always believed in the deep connections of music as a therapeutic / personal care practice.
That's why usually my class is divided in a theoretical part where I explore more of the whys and hows but also dedicate the other half to apply this and explore each person musical taste because we all love different styles and they all have something to offer to us. Explore and expand our musical tastes is how we grow, develop our love to music and our understanding of each other in a society.

Rhythm is a universal language. The drums were my first musical love. They can transport you to a place of pure expression, but "with great power comes great responsibility." My favorite drummers are the ones who can effortlessly craft an infectious groove, but know exactly how much space to leave for the music to breathe. My approach is to teaching drums is to help find the rhythms that move you and break them down to their simplest forms and build them back piece by piece until your able to play along with your favorite tunes!

I have been teaching private drum lessons and band clinics for 9 years. I specialize in drum set, but I also teach hand drumming and concert percussion. I have been playing professionally since the age of 16 in musical theater, pop, jazz, rock, and metal bands. I have a master’s degree in drum set performance from New England Conservatory, and an undergraduate degree in music education from University of New Hampshire.
