It has been my pleasure to teach students of all ages how to draw for over 20 years. Whether you are a beginner wanting to know basics tools and techniques, or an advanced student who wants to take your drawing skills to the next level, I can help!
There aren't a lot of "art rules," but there are many guidelines, tools and tips that can help anyone become a more skilled artist. Some of those tips and tools help you choose the best materials for your project, and some of them help your brain translate what you see to the paper in front of you.
Prior to your first lesson I'll ask for at least one sample drawing (of anything) just to show me where you are. I also ask what you'd like to be able to draw at the end of our lessons, and those 2 pieces of information let me map out our course. For example, if you want to be able to draw people, but come to me only being able to draw stick figures, we would begin your lessons by 1) learning how to draw facial features and where to put ...

Many people think they can't draw. I used to be one of them. Now, I know that everyone can draw, they just need to learn how to translate what they see into an image. We will start with contour, move into gesture, create the illusion of 3D form using value and color, composition and even create the illusion of space. We will use a variety of media including graphite, charcoal, pastels (oil and chalk) and even use paint. It's really lots of fun!

Kids are actually exposed to various mediums. The really good part is you can also see older kids working on really good pieces of art, which is a very motivating for the younger ones. Personally Ms Maggie is very kind and gentle and a pleasure to know. I recommend any parent looking to enroll their kids into an art program to take them to her class and you WON'T regret it!"
