Go at your own pace and have fun are my knitting mottos! I teach continental style knitting and have been teaching beginners to knit for over 5 years. Together we'll experience the excitement that comes when you cast on something new, learn a new stich, or finish a favorite project.
I'm can start with the basics (cast on, knit stitch, purl stitch) or jump straight into helping on a project you have planned (or started and got stuck on? don't worry - it happens to all of us!). There is no limit to the kind or number of projects we can do. I have plenty of project ideas and am always happy to help with your ideas, too.
About Nicole
My grandmother taught me to knit when I was 11 years old, and after taking a few years off I picked up the hobby again in my 20s. Now in my 30s I am an avid knitter - there are always several projects on my needles (I need one I can travel with, one I can do while watching TV, and usually one I'm m

I began knitting when I was twelve years old; I sat beside my neighbor, Mrs. Turner, and listened to her stories while I watched her wooden straight needles move expertly along, clacking-clacking in counterpoint to the crackling of the wood in the corner stove. Mrs. Turner had a laid back approach to teaching knitting. The point of knitting wasn't simply to produce a useful item: it was to enjoy the process. If you made a mistake, just unmake it and try again. The worst that could happen was you would end up with two sticks and some string.
When you're twelve, life is filled with drama. Knitting was not. It has always been a meditative, nurturing retreat. There have been times in my life when I've knitted more, times when I've knitted less. But the lessons I learned from knitting have served me well over the years: patience, perseverance, and keeping it all in perspective.
I'd love to share this craft with someone else. Come, learn to knit and see what else you might learn ...
About Maureen
I have been knitting for more than 35 years, and was taught by a neighbor when I was 12 years old. I found it fascinating and rewarding to transform something disorganized (a ball of yarn) into something purposeful and beautiful. As I grew up, and my world expanded, I found the world of fiber was

I learned to play chess with my grandfather when I was 5 years old and have played now for over 30 years. I adopt a modern, attacking style to bridge and will teach you tactics like combinations, openings, sacrifices, forks, and many other tricks to help you win games quickly.
If you are defensive minded, I will teach you how to frustrate your opponents, like forcing them to trade queens or rooks to push an endgame scenario. I use the chess.com platform for teaching and we can also talk by phone or video chat alongside.
About Aaron
I have played bridge since I was a teenager (20+ years), and have played well over 1 million hands over this time period. I am continually honing my own game via Bridgebase.com (handle = aceman34), arguably the best teaching tool out there. I generally prefer online lessons because I find my stu

I have been teaching origami in private and public schools as well as community centers, museums and senior centers. I work well with special needs children and adults. I use paper and materials you can find in your own home, like printing paper, napkins, dollar bills or business cards. Origami is not just another art or craft form. It is a way of acquiring multitude of skills, in a fun way . Origami engages students in learning basic math concepts like shape, size and number. In the process they learn patience and concentration sequencing and problem solving. Most importantly, people of all ages gain self esteem as they succeed in finishing a model and take pride of their work. They also find that the models they fold can serve them for practical purposes; All kind of boxes to store crayons, staples, A dish to put candies, a hand ...
