About Stephanie
Hello, and thank you for your interest!

My name is Stephanie, I am a teaching-artist from El Paso, Texas. I currently reside, perform and teach in the Boston and greater Boston area.

I am a recent graduate of The New England Conservatory of Music with my Masters in Saxophone Performance. I received my Bacherlors in Music Education from New Mexico State University.

“A teaching artist, by definition, is a two-career professional: a working artist and a working educator. As a working artist is they are involved in an ongoing process of discovery, problem solving, discipline and refinement of skills in their discipline. As a working educator, it is essential that the artist is also developing a knowledge base and skills to be an effective partner in education. Achieving a meaningful balance between these two professions, whereby one
feeds the other, is an ongoing process that requires a deepening awareness for the teaching artist of what their teaching brings to their art and what their art teaches them about learning.”

I am devoted and dedicated to helping find each of my students strengths, weaknesses and style of learning. Once I have identified these traits, I am able to develop lessons and repertoire that helps each students become the most efficient learner and best musician they can be.

I pride myself in creating a fun and safe learning environment in which I establish a firm musical foundation for my students. Lessons include: scales, etudes, articulation, dynamic and sight reading exercises, standard saxophone repertoire, recording and analyzing performances, saxophone/music history lessons, and exploration of the sounds, genres and artists of the saxophone.

Simultaneously, my students cultivate many other skills while learning how to play saxophone. Students enhance their fine motor skills and ability to memorize, students increase their overall self-confidence and become self-sufficient and creative problem solvers. I am passionate about educating and empowering my students and I enjoy connecting with a wide array of musicians of all ages, playing levels and backgrounds.

Feel free to contact me to inquire about lessons, I hope to hear from you soon!

Stephanie is a patient, knowledgeable, enthusiastic educator and collaborator who loves to perform and teach. I had the honor of working with her for nearly four years while we pursued similar degrees at New Mexico State University. She consistently brought a level of maturity and preparedness beyond her age to our rehearsals and practices. If I was limited to only one word to describe her, it would be "professional".

Daniel was the perfect tutor for my son's prep for the GED. He was patient, prepared to help with test taking skills along with the actual content of the tests, and made himself available on a very short notice. In addition, Daniel is just a nice, respectful person that was a pleasure to interact with. I can not say enough. Highly recommend him!

About Victor
My name is Victor and I have been actively teaching cello for the past 4 years. In Ames, IA I had a studio of 8 students, all ranging from different age groups and abilities. I also have experience teaching online lessons, which require a slightly different approach than normal in person lessons. I recently moved to Boston to pursue my masters degree in cello performance at The Boston Conservatory. I am looking forward to building a studio here in Boston! My goal as a teacher is to help you achieve your musical goals. I try my absolute hardest to create a warm and positive environment for all of my students. I understand that all of my students are different and I make sure to create individual lesson plans for each of my students. Not only will you grow as a musician and as a cellist, but I believe that learning an instrument gives us sk
ills that can be beneficial in every aspect of our daily lives. Whether you are new to the cello, picking it back up after some time off, or at a more advanced level, I hope to hear from you! If you have any questions at all, please send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you!

As a 40 year old beginner I was a little nervous about the whole online experience as well as starting a new instrument. Victor makes the online teaching experience seamless. Victor is calm, thoughtful and patient. He always finds a way to explain something in a way that relates to me specifically. To do this someone must be able to listen as well as teach. This is quality I have not found in all of my teachers/instructors/coaches throught the years. Victor is also easily the most flexible of any teacher I have had. He always finds a way to accommodate my schedule and works around any issues that arise. I have really enjoyed my learning experience thus far and look forward to each lesson. I would not hesitate to recommend Victor to anyone looking to learn the cello.

I was a pianist and oboist in my early life, and now in my 40s decided that I'd love to learn to play the cello. Victor is a really wonderful teacher. He's very patient, very calm, and very responsive. Whenever I would message him, he'd respond within a few hours, and often he'd respond right away. He was very flexible when schedules changed. Whenever I would run into problems or issues with a new technique, he would find resources, such as videos, to help describe it more fully. I've had many music teachers over the years and Victor is absolutely one of the best.

About Gena
My name is Gena Su. I am a music educator who graduated from Boston University school of music. In these two years, I built my own teaching methods for the age of elementary and secondary, also learned the strong foundation of music theory/history.

I majored in music education/ flute performance in my undergraduate. I taught flute classes during my undergraduate study. Most of my 15 flute students continually engaged in all kinds of music making. Parents and students both love the way of learning the flute.

My teaching philosophy is a student-centered teaching model. In my class, I, as a facilitator, but authority, hope to build a bridge that is connecting both teacher's music world and students' music world! Now, Let's have fun!

We will learn basic breath technique, fingering, and easy songs through playing the music games, d
rawing, and singing. Students will learn fast and be happy at the same time!

Both of our daughters began taking lessons with Cindy Maynard in first grade. We are amazed by how much they have learned in three years. She is an excellent teacher, and our girls look forward to their lessons every week. She teaches them a bit of music history and theory as well as technique and they are becoming quite good at sight reading, so I know she is giving them a wonderful foundation upon which to build as they continue to study with her in the years to come.

I am currently in my last year Master of Music in performance (French horn) at Boston University. I just moved to Boston from Toronto, Canada last year, and ready to meet new students who are passionate about music!
My profession is French horn, but I have been classical trained in piano since young age, and still play piano regularly in events such as church service and choir.
I also perform in many orchestras, chamber music and opera/musicals as French horn player, working with many talented musicians give me great stories and experience to share with my students.

I believe each student has a gift in music, with the right direction and attitude they will find a lifelong enjoyment of music. In order to develop students' musical sense, I spark their interest with my interesting approach. I encourage my students to focus on fundamenta
l techniques step-by-step. At the same time, introduce them all different kinds of ways to practice, so the practice will not be only difficult and boring.

Learning music is not about playing all the right notes, and I wish to guide my students to discover all the possibilities in the music.

It was a pure pleasure to watch Gittit teach my boys to sing. I have to say that I was in owe admiring the genuine way she connected with them and the efficient way she taught them complex ideas about voice and singing, She taught my current 18 year old voice and singing (I'm not sure how these are different) when he was 15, and my 13 year old as a preparation to an audition in which he got the main role in a musical. The stories of these two learners is very different as one had experience in music and singing and came to Gittit to learn how to sing in Hebrew and English and how to use his voice while it is changing, as well as how to support singing with proper breathing. This guy is now in a gap year sining in different languages in Europe. My younger child came to Gittit with no experience at all, no special tallent for sining, only with a deep will to sing and get a role in a musical. In a series of 7 lessons Gittit connected with him (actually that happened in the first lesson) and taught him how to be heard while on stage and specifically prepared him for the role he auditioned for (Simba). He gained confidence, and got the role. Thanks to this teacher this child of mine too is now in a singinig group of children who tour New England and sing in different languages. he joined in the sining also becuase he loved teh teacher who made singing seem as something that can be conqured in small comprehendable steps. She connected with him very deeply and he felt understood and envelpoed with confidence and warmth. Sitting there listening to the lesson from her kitchen, I felt that my boys are getting emotional support, stregthening of their choices, getting another adult that help them grow.

Gitit is phenomenal! Over the years, I've had lots of issues with developing my range (bass/baritone) and she's given me lots of useful and practical exercises that help me improve my access to the high notes without sacrificing vocal stamina. I highly recommend Gitit for both group and private lessons. She's effective, has a great rapport, and has the expertise to help both amateur and professional singers reach a new level in their repertoire.

We practice both singing and have vocal training.
She is a professional singer herself and is mastering all singing technics.
