My name is Wassim, and I have been a guitarist for over 10 years, and an avid lover of music for as long as I can hear and remember. My area of focus and interest is customizing a modern learning approach that fits your goals, pace, and aspirations. Learning guitar techniques and music theory isn’t all you can expect to gain from my time, you will also be able to learn about all the other captivating aspects of music on this quest; such as music notation, arranging, transcribing, ear training, tracking and producing (if they happen to align with your goals). We all have music in us, and together you’ll be able to not only tap into the music you want to make, but you'll also create and share it with the world.
With an ever-growing amount of instructional guitar content available at our fingertips, it can be easy to get overwhelmed on your musical journey and often find it challenging to know where to begin, or if you’re even on the most impactful path for you.
My pledge is to work ...
Everyone has the ability to reach their musical goals, with the right amount of correct guidance, planning, patience, practice, time and consistency. Take it from someone who has made this their life mission, who has seen the joy that the feeling and sound of progress brings to people, and who will

I have had the pleasure of studying trumpet at James Madison University with Jim Kluesner, who was a student of perhaps the greatest trumpet teacher of all time, Vincent Chicowitz. As a student of Jim, my process and pedagogy is based on the teaching of Chicowitz. Most of my experience as a player is in the classical realm, performing with Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. I also have experience playing lead trumpet in a big band and can give good insight and direction if that is the style of playing you are interested in. I am a licensed teacher for k-12 Instrumental Music. I have directed both middle school and high school band programs. I am currently a Doctoral student in Instrumental Conducting at The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford.
Hello trumpet players! My name is James and I am an accomplished performer and teacher. My grand teacher was Vincent Chicowitz, the famous 2nd trumpet player from the legendary Chicago Symphony brass section. He is regarded as one of the best if not the best trumpet pedagogue of his time, and muc

I stress understanding (geometrically/analytically) rather than memorizing formulas. This ensures my students can derive formulas/solutions even without memorization.
I know firsthand how difficult it is to learn test taking skills whether you are a total newbie, or a budding intermediate, but I have overcame these challenges myself and will guide you to overcome them too. I also have 10 years of tutoring experience to both children and adults alike.
I recommend just starting with a single 15-minute lesson to see if we are good fits for each other and start a roadmap to progress toward your goals! My long-term pricing is negotiable if we work together for an extended time.
I have always been a self-studier in my entire life. Being able to learn with just books and your brain is a crucial skill to have! However, I know not everyone (and sometimes even myself) have the discipline and motivation to keep going during hard times. This is where a tutor would come in handy.

Every single lesson was tailored to my voice and my skill level. As I progressed, so did the lessons. Shelley prepared every lesson and conducted them all professionally. Over the course of a couple months, I went from not being able to carry a tune at all to singing comfortably and confidently in different genres.
She was excellent at teaching all aspects of voice including the anatomical structures involved and techniques to use the voice effectively.
She made difficult concepts easy to understand and used simple training tools very effectively. When I struggled in certain areas, she understood what my problem was even if I couldn't explain it well and helped me correct it.
In addition to her effectiveness as a coach, she is just a wonderful person and joy to work with. I plan on taking more lessons from her and I strongly recommend her to anyone!
I took weekly lessons with her for a few months and it was a great investment of time and money. I progressed from not being able to carry a tune at all to comfortably and confidently singing a variety of music.
She tailored every lesson to me so the lessons progressed as I did, which meant that my vocal skills and capabilities were continually growing.
Shelley's lessons were well structured and professional. They carried me through effective warmup exercises into singing that helped me continue to expand my range, delivery, and tone. I learned effective breathing techniques and proper shaping to get the clarity and tone that I wanted. I still implement her training on a daily basis and am now comfortable performing and recording a variety of musical styles and genres.
Her feedback and guidance was clear and easy to understand. Whenever there was concept I didn't understand, she knew how to explain it in a way that made it clear or use visual aids and basic tools to clarify.
Shelley helped me achieve a level of vocal control and confidence I didn't think would be possible for me.
Shelley is an outstanding teacher and I will take more lessons from her in the future!

I want you to learn to express yourself through the trumpet, to help you master it and have lots of fun in the process! Trumpet was my second musical instrument (my first was my voice!), which I played through most of grade school and into high school. I can help you with good breath support and creating clear, steady tone.

I highly recommend Benjamin! I have had several instructors and I can honestly say that he is the best I've had so far. He doesn't stick to any rigid lesson plans. His teaching style is very dynamic, he will taylor the lesson to fit your interest and level of playing. He keeps things fun and interesting and is good at coming up with creative exercises to try and challenge you. He also knows a lot of different music styles from what I can tell. I highly recommend him."
“The most perfect technique is that which is not noticed at all.” ~ Pablo Casals ~ Technique is a paradox. On one hand, if you do not have the technique to play a difficult passage, you cannot master the passage. On the other hand, if you focus on the musical elements and what you are trying to express, the technique to achieve the musicality will come naturally. Those are the two opposing and contradictory thoughts about technique among musicians. Is technique something to be …

Hanon exercises: they might not be the most fun, but they can make a big impact on your progress as you're learning how to play piano! Read on as Saint Augustine, FL teacher Heather L. explains why... Sure, you could buy a technique book, a book of warm-ups, and a book of "finger-strengthening exercises," and work with all three every day. And some of you may be advised by your teachers to do so, based on your past playing experience and future goals. But if you're a middle-school …

Did you know there are a handful of common guitar chord progressions that are repeatedly used throughout hundreds of songs? If you've spent much time on YouTube, you might be familiar with the Axis of Awesome. In their popular video, the Axis of Awesome performs a compilation of around 50 songs in under six minutes, all while using the same guitar chord progression. The video is very entertaining as it creatively reveals a secret that professional musicians have known for decades. Guitar …
