Music theory is an important part of understanding music whether composing or performing. I studied music theory into my graduate performance degree because understanding theory informs your performance. Music theory has allowed me to perform solo and orchestral repetoire at a higher level on my primary instrument.

My first lesson with Zach was great! 5 stars. He asked the right questions as to what aI am looking to do. And we quickly came up with a lesson plan that with the right amount of work in my part will get me headed in the right direction. Zach does a great job of making his students feel comfortable and good about their abilities.
James A.
Great experience with Zach. I'm still learning how to sing properly, though.

"I have taken about 4 years of singing lessons with Marjorie K. I had to stop taking lessons, temporarily, due to personal circumstances. I miss taking lessons with her very much and can`t wait to resume my lessons.

I have had several other singing teachers, in the past, and Marjorie is the best by far. Although Marjorie has a background in opera, she is very supportive and encouraging of any singing style you choose. I love singing show and pop, even

though Marjorie says that I have the voice for opera, if not the discipline. Marjorie is very dedicated to getting the best sound from me. She is uplifting, inspiring, caring, very kind, and my greatest personal cheerleader concerning my

voice and my personal life. I am very blessed to have Marjorie K as my singing teacher. Although I consider Marjorie a great singing teacher, I feel that she is an even better person. She cares about me totally and not just my singing voice.

I recommended 3 of my friends to take lessons with Marjorie, and they all loved her and thanked me. I have looked forward to each and every lesson with Marjorie, since she makes the lessons a lot of fun. Sometimes I even felt a natural high, especially

after a great lesson or a big breakthrough. It is better than therapy. I can assure you that I wasn`t the easiest student to deal with, but Marjorie has the patience of a saint. It really paid off, since I get a ton of complements whenever I sing.

I always have to give Marjorie a tremendous amount of credit for helping me create my beautiful voice.

Finally, if you love to sing, you will love Marjorie K."

"My daughter (8th grade) has been learning cello for two years at school. However, since schools have closed, she has shown little to no interest in playing. We decided to book Dora and have been amazed at her impact! Dora is not only a talented musician in her own right but has the patience and skills to inspire the love of music on to her students. My daughter now looks forward to her lessons each week and is not only practicing her cello regularly but has even asked me to book more lessons with Dora. I would thoroughly recommend Dora to anyone wanting music lessons!"

"My daughter has taken voice lessons with a previous teacher before (not from Take Lessons). Everything with Athena is completely different, however my daughter's singing has developed greatly. My daughters is already projecting more and she has become able to sing loudly and clearly. I am very pleased with my daughters lessons and I would highly recommend Athena to others!"
