I am a well-rounded drum teacher, meaning I have learned and studied genres ranging from blues, jazz, rock and indie rock. I will give you tons of music to listen to and interpret and teach you how to learn tunes by ear. You will understand the forms of jazz tunes such as aaba Aba and abc. You will learn how to play the tunes you listen to and take the concepts of drum beats and drum rudiments used within them o make them your own and use them in your original playing. I also teach how to read standard drum notation, and can teach you how time signatures work and the values of notes if you don’t already know.

About Eli

Hi future students! I’m Eli. I know how tough it is to teach yourself an instrument, because I struggled with it for years and years. One of my biggest issues was learning how to practice, so if that’s something you struggle with, I can certainly help you develop a routine to which you would follow

After his first session, my son (10 years old) said Eli was, "really nice." They reviewed a lot, Eli asked a lot of questions about previous experiences and and listened to him play. Sounds like it was a packed session but not overwhelming.

David is a great instructor. He can hear what you are doing wrong and tell you how to correct. I am learning Saxophone much faster than I thought possible.

Good first lesson with Dave. He's a great communicator and seemed to understand my level of music experience; he knew the right subjects to linger on, and what information he could skip over, confident that I already knew it. I felt like we were able to cover a lot of ground in 45 short minutes.

Music performance is like a workshop class to radically improve the performing skills of the student. I will focus on specific techniques which will help the student perform more effectively. "Matt is a great teacher. Patient, knowledgeable, and always adding little interesting bits to the lessons. He pointed out my mistakes and was guiding me to make my playing much better. He opened me to the various interesting topics in music theory and pointed out importance of posture and exercise – playing scales and various simple arrangements. He has a great repertoire of songs of different genres at different levels, for his students – even those like me, who like classical music. I would very strongly recommend him for anyone wanting to learn or improve guitar playing skills."
