Whether you are an aspiring artist, a total beginner, a teen building a competitive portfolio, or someone who's always wanted to learn to paint, I will help you develop your technical skills and find your voice as an artist! In our lessons, you will paint from life, exploring composition, concept, and mood through creative assignments. You will train your eye as you paint still lifes, landscapes, portraits, figures, abstractions, and beyond! I will show you examples of historical and contemporary painting as we practice a range of techniques. You will gain confidence through practice and experimentation as you work towards developing your own style as an artist! And most importantly, you’ll have fun! Acrylic Painting Workshops have been proven winners in teaching the fundamentals of acrylic painting, Covering everything from stretching canvas, placing a protective coating and base, paints and brushes with examples to walk you through to creating wonderful pieces of art. For advanced levels the Grisalle method is a mature way of providing an underpainting study for your work.
Students can expect to focus on learning a good foundation. I am familiar with several different approaches when working with acrylic paints. They include but are not limited to; direct painting, graphic approach, building up of layers using glazes and dry brushing. I also sensitive to the surfaces acrylic is used on; paper, canvas, fabric, metal and wood are just a few.
