Taking up Ukulele was a great way to look at music from a new perspective. I love teaching ukulele to younger kids who cannot make chords on a guitar quite yet as well as adults who are serious musicians that have been playing for years. I welcome everyone from the novice to the hobbyist and do my best work with student requests.
About Jason
Jason has been playing guitar for over 15 years and teaching music since 1996. Although trained in standard teaching methods, he has developed his own method of teaching to positively enhance the students strength, dexterity, ear-training, memorization and techniques. His goal as a teacher is specifically designed to help you achieve your goals as an artist and a musician.
This year Jason was also the Music Director at the National Guitar Workshop Day Jams Rock Music Day Camp where students ages 7-15 came out to form bands, record original material and master their craft. He also taught beginning to advanced guitar/ vocals/ performance and songwri
Jason has host student showcases/charity benefits where his students were able to get on stage and show off their new talent and perform with other musicians. It wasn't mandatory though, if you were just looking to come out and support there was no pressure other than to come out and have fun.
Jason has been transcribing for guitar and bass since the age of 18 and since then has become a master of the craft including both 5 line staff and tablature, hand-crafted exercises and deconstructions to better enhance the students learning. Artists and genres that Jason has experience with range from Classic Rock, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Guns N' Roses, Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Robert Johnson, Pierce the Veil, Paramore, All Time Low, Demi Lava to, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold, The White Stripes, Green Day, Old Crow Medicine Show, Taylor Swift, Mumford and Sons, Bruno Mars, Rob Zombie, John 5, Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine, Van Morrison, the Beatles, AC/DC, ZZ-Top, Bullet For My Valentine, All That Remains, Ozzy, Black Label Society, Sublime, Aerosmith, At the Drive In, Type O Negative, the Black Keys, the Pixies, the Toadies, Black Sabbath, Jason Mraz, Lady GaGa, John Mayer and Journey.
Jason attended the University of Alaska, Anchorage where his degree is in Music and Business. He is constantly continuing his education with music theory courses as well as private guitar instruction. He attends guitar workshops and seminars by artists such as John5 and Kerry King who are known as some of the worlds finest guitar players. He reviews every day from a wide range of over 1000 sources working to become a better musician and instructor.
Another nice feature that you might enjoy from one on one sessions with Jason is learning the ability to craft and record your own songs using state of the art technology that caters to your own unique personality. There are no limits!
Jason teaches all experience levels from beginner to intermediate and advanced as well as artists that are signed to labels.
Local news outlet Fox 5 did a segment with one of his students who overcame issues with ADD and depression as a result of taking guitar lessons.

About Athena M.

Experienced guitar teacher of 22 years available for eager beginner and intermediate students of all ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of rhythm, chords, knowledge of the instrument and proper hand skills. I specialize in pop and rock and typically use songs the students choose to help them develop their skills.
About Athena
If you can recognize your favorite song when you hear it, you already have what it takes to be a great musician!
MY PROMISE TO YOU:
1. Your lesson will always be geared toward what YOU want to learn, and if it seems like we are working on something that doesn't match that, I will always take the time to make clear why what we are doing will have you be able to play what you want.
2. You already have every skill you need to be a great performer, and my job is just to steer the ship in the right direction to have that happen. All I am ever doing in a lesson is making sure that we are moving you in the ultimate direction that you want to be going musically.
3. I will do everything I know how to do to make sure that what I have learned that will benefit you becomes something you have mastered. If I could take th
4.If I say something that isn't clear, or isn't useful to you, I will ALWAYS re-explain, or say it a different way, until it is useful to you and something you know how to use for your benefit on your instrument.
5. If you have a practice schedule set up with me, and for any reason you do not have time to practice or get an assignment done, I GOT IT! You can always tell me, because I've been there and I know. Music Lessons are NOT school, and I will never act like they are.
OK, now for the credentials:
MY EDUCATION
I learned how to read music at 4 years old, before I had even learned to read English. If I can do that, anyone can do that given the right set of elements.
1. I started singing at three, piano lessons at nine, began teaching myself guitar at twelve and I have never stopped playing and learning since then.
2. I earned a B.A in Music from Towson University and graduated Magna cum Laude with a Major in Jazz/Commercial Piano Performance and a Minor in Opera.
3. I made my stage performing debut in a solo role at six, and I have never stopped performing since then. I wrote my first song, all by myself, at eleven and have composed over 1000 pieces since then.
4. I have studied brain science and practical neurology for fifteen years as part of my continuing education.
MY EXPERIENCE
In addition to my extensive study of the piano, I have had many other valuable experiences as a musician and teacher, including but not limited to the following:
1. I have been a choral singer for twenty three years, and during that time toured Italy, sang at St. Martin of Tours Church in Los Angeles for fifteen of those years, and worked on mastering just about every form of sacred choral and gospel music.
2. As a soloist, began performing professionally in 1988 and have done numerous performances of my own compositions around Southern California. I also have had songs of mine pitched to major artists in Nashville and currently compose both contemporary music and feature songs for film and television.
3. I developed a method of curing tone deafness, and authored a course that teaches this to anyone whether they are a trained singer or beginner. I also authored a second course specifically for karaoke singers to learn stage presence and better performance skills.
4. I have been teaching for twenty years, working with students from 3 to 78 years old at every level of musical experience. I have taught not only music performing and instrumental technique, but song-writing, arranging, and the tricky task of singing while playing an instrument to accompany one's self. Believe me, this is a skill that DOES take a separate set of lessons to master, but every student who studies it with me does!
In short, if it's music, or even music-related, I've done it and I can teach it and I can figure out the best method to have your brain master it!
My Specialties:
Working with kids and young people in a SAFE environment to learn their instrument
Rhythm, and understanding why it is your ticket to musical mastery
How to use your own brain to be your own best teacher (when I'm not there in a lesson with you!)
Pop, Classical, Gospel, Rock, Musical Theater,
Education
B. A. Music
Subjects Taught
piano, voice, guitar, music theory, song writing/composition, arranging
*** Lesson Details ***
Your BRAIN is your greatest musical asset, and I have spent the past twenty-five years learning how to make the musical brain easy for everyone.
I've been a musician since I was in the cradle, and I
learned to read music before I could read English! Over the past twenty years of teaching piano, voice and guitar I have learned how to use your brain, and the basic musical skills you ALREADY have to help you turn yourself into a great musician and performer.
If you can tap your foot along with a song, and you can recognize Mary Had a Little Lamb, you've got what it takes. My specialty is taking these simple skills you already have and using them to teach you EVERYTHING you want to know how to do on your instrument. I also teach combined
lessons so that you can learn more than one instrument in your course of study if that is what you choose.
*** Travel Equipment ***
Student provides piano in their home for piano lessons. Voice students provide a recording device to record their lesson for their practice. Guitar students provide their guitar, any amps, cables, anything else they need for their rig. All students provide any CD's or mp3's they are working with during study. They pay for all books needed.
*** Specialties ***
Beginner level through advanced in kid songs, pop, rock, gospel, contemporary Christian, Broadway and classical. Emphasis on rhythm and technique. Lessons specialize in using knowledge of brain neuroscience practical applications in hearing, learning, reading, practicing and performing music.

Not only will you learn how to play your favorite songs on ukulele, but I will also teach you how to read music - all in a laid back and casual environment! I've been playing ukulele since 2012 and love to share my love of this happy instrument and my love of music with others. I strive in cozy spaces and work to create a homey and welcoming place for my students.
About Lily
Hello!
I am a 2014 graduate of the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Development and Education. I have completed 2 internships, both in 1st grade, then taught Kindergarten in Seminole county Schools for one year and have since discovered my love for teaching in one-on-one situations. I believe that building relationships is an important and integral part of effective teaching, and the learning stems from that.
I have a passion for music, and have been playing flute since 2003, piano since 1998, ukulele since 2011, and guitar since 2006. I played the flute throughout middle and high school, and I continue playing for weddings, holiday perf
I have been playing piano since 1998, taken piano lessons for 7 years, and performed in several recitals.
I have taught myself guitar and ukulele and have performed in a few festivals and coffee shops around Orlando. When I was teaching, I often brought my instruments with me to play for my kindergarten class!
I write music as well with my twin sister.
I've also enjoyed venturing into the world of graphic design, and since Fall 2015, have been running my own tiny little design business. I've taught myself how to use adobe photoshop and illustrator to create social media graphics, logos, flyers, and t-shirt designs.
I currently work from home doing graphic design as well as teaching music lessons.
**LOCATION**
I am located in College Park near downtown Orlando.
**TEACHING STYLE**
My teaching style is laidback and casual in nature. I believe the most productive learning comes through relationships, trust, and fun! I strive in cozy environments and hope to create a welcoming space for our lesson time. (Check out my pictures to see my lesson space!)
I see myself as a facilitator - I will teach you the foundations of your chosen instrument and what you need to know I will be by your side to encourage and help you. But... you will put in most of the work! You get out of lessons what you put into them - for this reason I highly encourage daily practice! Even if it is just 5-10 minutes a day.
**LESSON DETAILS**
Piano lessons will be held in my home in Orlando (college park). I do require a purchase of a piano book depending on your skill level (about $5-10 on amazon), and notebook in order for me to write down what to practice for the following week. If I am traveling to you, you will need to have a piano or keyboard available for lessons.
Flute lessons will be held in my house in Orlando or online (via TakLessons Classroom, FaceTime, Google Hangouts, or Skype). You will need to have your own flute for lessons and practice. I will also have you purchase a fairly cheap lesson book on amazon (book will be depending on your skill level) and suggest having a notebook so I can write down what you need to practice for the following week.
Ukulele lessons will be held in my house or online (via TakeLessons Classroom, FaceTime, Google Hangouts, or Skype). You will need to have your own instrument available for lessons and practice. I do require purchase of lesson books that you can get fairly cheap on amazon. I also suggest having a notebook in order for me to write down what to practice for the following week.
**CANCELLATION POLICIES**
I require 24 hours notice if you need to cancel a lesson (with the exception of illness). Otherwise, you will be charged the regular lesson fee.
**MORE ABOUT ME!**
Some of my hobbies include writing/playing music, graphic design, traveling, hiking, camping, writing, painting, gardening.
I love my cat, my husband, coffee, food, Netflix, relaxing at home, going on crazy adventures, the beach, the mountains, and tacos!

Paul is an incredible teacher. He's able to notice such small details and nuances in my playing. He's always able to identify where I'm having problems and knows exactly which pieces and exercises I should play to fix them. When I'm having trouble understanding a concept, he's able to break it down really well into simpler terms. I would highly recommend him for anyone trying to learn at any level.

I believe that playing music should never be a chore. Playing music at any age should be nothing shy of an honest expression. This is why I take a no-pressure approach with lessons and focus on learning with my student's strengths. My goal is to build every student's relationship with there instrument to a place of pure companionship. I play with my students and teach them the music that they enjoy playing. When music becomes a chore, it looses its magic. I believe that by teaching students with strategies that allow them to play what they want to play, it creates a bond between them and their instrument that cannot be easily broken.

These days I enjoy creating EDM music and producing music in my free time.

Here's What to Know Before Buying an Instrument
Thinking about buying a new instrument? It's a big decision, as an instrument is truly an investment -- especially if you're spending several hundred dollars (or more, for higher-end brands and models) on it.
