As a software engineer, I pride myself on being a problem solver. My goal will be to empower my students to be critical thinkers which will help simplify the learning process. I will be able to bridge the gap between struggle and success by patiently motivating students to overcome their educational challenges. I enjoy seeing my students succeed and will definitely make math and science fun and easy!

I have been a math tutor for elementary through middle school. I've also had the opportunity to talk to tutors and teachers, some more successful than others.
~Empathy. If you have been there, if you have struggled with that class, if you can understand what exactly about a particular problem / concept is tough, tell them. Despite the fact that on the outside, tutoring seems like an easy transfer of knowledge from one person to the other, it's also really emotional. Students are scared about their grades and their futures. they want someone to sit next to them and say, "I know how you feel, you can do this, you are going to be successful." Especially in math, where students come into a session assuming that because they "have always sucked at math," they will never get it. I have tutored writing in every form -- persuasive writing, research writing, creative writing -- for many years. And I absolutely love it! If a student is struggling with any type of writing, I have the experience to remedy.

I will try to make history facts easier for you to remember and recall by making it a bit more interesting and putting it into story form, comparing and contrasting events and details with those of today.
