Private Singing Teacher

I have been teaching private lessons now for over two years. I specialize in teaching children and teens and am a student favorite at Take Lessons with a collection of wonderful reviews from students and their parents. I am a very thorough and patient teacher. However, I expect a MINIMUM of three days a week of practice from all of my students at a length of time equal to lesson length. Without adequate practice, the student cannot flourish in fine-tuning their skills and could ultimately end up disappointed. This is completely avoidable with diligent practice.
For my younger students (ages 6-11) I utilize the Little Singers series of text written by Gregory Blankenbehler. For ages 12 and up, I utilize The Contemporary Singer: Elements of Vocal Technique written by Anne Peckham, one of my most influential Berklee professors. In addition to these texts I incorporate the use of the Vaccai: the Practical Method of Italian Singing as well as many various traditional, jazz, pop, and r&b ...

Words will never be enough to express what Danielle has done for my daughter and her love of singing. Danielle has shown so much patience and commitment through her instruction and has boosted my daughters confidence 110%. She knows how to chose the perfect song for Alexis' voice and the emails that she sends after each session provide the proper tools for my daughter to carry out her 1 hour session to a full week. I could not have picked a better vocal coach for my daughter.

My first priority is to inspire and motive. Find out the students wants and needs, then tackle them head on. Exploring proper voice techniques and how to use the voice. Proper breathing technique. Learn music theory fundamentals and understanding the language of music so it can be applied to the voice. Phrasing, intonation and song building.

Private Singing Teacher

I work with people in regard to singing lessons since 2004 in both academic settings and private face-to-face instructions. The lesson's plans and general direction that it takes during the course of study substantially depends on the student's interests and preferences. Along with main subjects that motivates students most in taking voice lessons ( such as learning new songs from the contemporary popular repertoire, for instance), I will offer my prospective students basic training in general musicianship; this would enable people to sing, read written music, and understand the very basics of music theory. With such advantages at their hands, my students will be able to expand their singing repertoire and to move, probably, to another styles of music for singing and enjoying it for the sake of people's personal aesthetical development.

Vasiliy is great! He's an amazing teacher, I know this because teachers usually get frustrated with me very quickly(I'm a slow processor and have some learning difficulties), but Vasiliy explained things in a way I could understand and never expressed anything but positivity and patience when I did get a bit confused or took extra time to understand something.
Overall, he's a really nice guy with a patient, calm, yet enthusiastic disposition, who is clearly very experienced in music and life in general. I'm an extremely nervous person and it usually takes me a long time to relax around a new person, but he's really chill and I felt pretty comfortable within a few minutes of talking.

I went into my first lesson frankly pretty terrified, and with almost no direction, and I left feeling uplifted with a clear path for pursuing music. The lesson exceeded my expectations by far, I would recommend him to anyone.

Katelyn is meticulous, yet she also creates a safe environment to explore and experiment. I was having trouble with a high note, and she immediately knew how to fix it, bringing out the best sound in me. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to sing either opera, musical theatre, or any style.

"I’ve been taking lessons with Chau for about 3 months now and I’m absolutely thrilled with the progress I’ve made. Chau is very detailed in her explanations of vocal concepts which allows me to understand what and why I’m doing what I am with my voice. I’m constantly amazed by her ability to pick up on the most nuanced details of my voice to both correct bad habits and encourage good ones."

"After years of taking lessons in various other instruments, Dan was easily the best instructor I've ever had. He was able to quickly adapt to my background in music, anticipate and fill in any gaps in knowledge that I had, and had the patience to answer my many, many questions. This was my first set of singing lessons ever, and my first lessons online, and he made it all feel very natural and specialized to my needs. He set clear goals for me, listened to what I wanted to get out of lessons, and guided me through everything. Not only is he an excellent instructor, he's just a really kind, patient, and enjoyable person to be around and talk with. Can't recommend him enough"

"One night I sat in with a friend's band for a song & had a blast. As a mid life crisis kinda thing I decided to pursue vocal lessons to learn the correct way to sing. I've never had any kind of musical training so I did a google search to find the perfect instructor in my area and found Randy ( lucky him). I emailed him and received a prompt phone call. During that conversation he asked what I was looking for & what my goals were. After that we set up some lessons, no pressure either way. Randy is an excellent instructor with a lot of patience ( lord knows he needs it with me) often going over things umpteen times until it's right. Randy is very knowledgable in the recording studio as he records most sessions and includes them in emails with what went right / wrong & what to work on. I have heard several of his students and they are incredible. He will not coddle & tell you what you want to hear, he'll tell you what you need to hear. If you are looking for an instructor that'll push you & teach you in a way that will make you want to learn this is your guy."

"Cosima was there to help just when I needed it!

I was in town for only a few weeks to play a role in a musical production of the Book of Esther. Cosima was there to help just when I needed it! She took me as her vocal student at the last minute and helped me work out some weak areas and insecurities I was having with my voice.

Cosima is knowledgeable and able to see into your voice to help you get right to the issues you are dealing with. Her kind manner and energy helped me feel secure and ready to tackle those high notes and work on other weaknesses. When we were finished I felt as though I'd known her forever and my singing had improved greatly.

I'd recommend Cosima to anyone interested in getting over some vocal issues and to those who are just starting out."
