I love algebra and been tutoring up to high schoolers even as a high schooler myself! There’s no time in my school career where I got anything less than an A in Math! My approach to math is friendly and one thing that makes me stand out is I don’t think too hard in algebra or anything math related!
I love math and I believe having me as an algebra teacher would help enhance your level of understanding from beginner to intermediate and so on, you would learn so much from me that you’ve never had!

I provide classical instruction in portraiture, still life and landscape in your studio or mine. In this traditional approach to drawing and painting, what will be taught and focused upon are perspective, value and composition in order for the student to develop strong visual language skills. The program of study begins with a specific focus on drawing, since drawing is the foundation upon which all great traditional art is built. Throughout this training, emphasis will be placed on accuracy, or more specifically, seeing and rendering correctly such things as line quality, hard and soft edges, proportion, positive and negative space through abstract form and the use of the full range of values.

About Jeff

I'm a graduate of Dean College in Franklin, MA and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston where I majored in art history and studio art with a focus on portrait painting and illustration. I am a recently retired university professor with 37 years' teaching and research experience in organic and bio-organic chemistry at two major U. S. State universities. During the past 18 years I have served as an MCAT content contributor by providing "units" (passages + questions based on passage content) to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), the agency that produces and administers MCAT. I currently tutor students worldwide by using interactive Skype and Google Hangouts with screen sharing. The screen sharing feature permits chemical structures, formulas and reaction mechanisms to be drawn onscreen in real time during tutorial sessions. All visual materials produced in this manner are saved as jpg files and sent to students as email attachments at the conclusion of each tutorial session. In addition to one-on-one tutoring, Students are provided with study and review materials, practice problems and sample exam questions that I know from experience are likely to ...

Dr. Alan was super helpful and patient. He knows organic chemistry very well and can explain the material in a way that anyone can understand.

I was getting really discouraged with MCAT studying and practice, so I decided to contact Dr. Alan.
He is extremely knowledgeable in general chemistry, organic chemistry and biochem. He also knows how the MCAT exam is designed and written. He is a great source of information.
Furthermore, he prioritizes making sure his students understand why certain answers are wrong or right. He is very detail oriented and really wants his students to understand the material.
Dr. Alan tutored me online, and shared his screen with me while working out chemical reactions and problems. He then saved all of that work and emailed it to me, so I could refer to it later.
Dr. Alan definitely tries to provide his students with the resources to succeed. He sends his students extra practice as well as power points and tutorials on information that he knows is tested on the MCAT.
I am very glad I contacted Dr. Alan, because he is a very dedicated caring teacher, and he really wants his students to do well. I would recommend him to anyone who needs some guidance on the MCAT!

A talented, patient teacher, Gretchen epitomizes the best qualities for musical instruction. Her technical knowledge of music theory is by far the most complete and deepest of anyone I have encountered. She has encouraged the gradual emerging of a latent talent talent I never knew I had as I was always discouraged from attempting any musical education.

"Rod has been tutoring my eighth grader for the past month or so, and all I can say is that I wish we had met Rod years ago. My daughter has always struggled with math, and after several sessions with Rod I feel like the struggle was unnecessary. Even before our first session, Rod took the time to discuss exactly what our concerns and goals were and asked the type of questions that indicate a genuine interest in her success. As a former educator myself, I know that a true teacher is one that invests in the student before and after class, and that is precisely what Rod does. Not only does he assign relevant homework in between sessions, he is diligent about inquiring what her class is working on, ensuring he follows the same curriculum. He not only remembers when she has had a mid term but reaches out between sessions to find out the result. In addition to knowing how to make concepts understandable, he provides praise and encouragement, while still having high expectations and moving her steadily forward, her confidence bolstered. Before her midterm, Rod offered to adjust our schedule so that he could meet with her the night before the test. In one month's time Rod was able to prepare my daughter so effectively for her midterm, that she achieved a full grade higher than her previous assessment. If your child needs not only an academically qualified tutor, but a dedicated one, then Rod is the tutor your family needs."
