Piano has always been the foundation of music for me and it's where I find myself everyday! It is a great way to understand the building blocks of music which makes it an excellent choice for someone new to music.

About Alexandra
I graduated Manga Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music and I have been teaching piano and voice for over 14 years. What drives me is the power of music to lift peoples spirits, allowing them to grow, and have fun.

In my own life, it wasn’t long before I felt the tug of music. I first became involved with piano when I would tag along with my mother to her piano lessons. The teacher gave me a beginners book and a few pointers and that started me on my path.

The real epiphany came at 12 when I met local singer and instructor Sandi Bedrosian-Hyde, who became not only my voice teacher but my friend and mentor. I was fortunate enough to become her personal assistant and was able to teach under her guidance for several years. Sandi was able to show me that with the right teacher a student can go on to accomplish anything.

My favorite part of teaching is getting to know the personalities of my students and figuring out what music is to them. Yes, we all need to be able to read and write music, and yes we have to practice scales and other technique exercises, but when these are done music is boiled down to one thing: Expression. Lessons are structured around good practice and organizational skills, technique, music theory and performance.
I definitely have a great sense of humor with my students, as well as a patient and easy-going demeanor.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can able to provide all learning books and notebooks for the same price as a store. I always have pencils and erasers.

Student needs any type of keyboard.

*** Specialties ***
Style Proficiency for Both Instruments: Pop, Rock, Funk, R&B, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Adult Contemporary, Classical

Teaching Method: Technique, Music Theory, Harmony (including harmony singing for singers) Sight Reading, Stylistic Musicality, Ear Training, Tempo Control, Improvisation, Repertoire Building, Healthy Practice Habits, Organization

When it comes to piano, I feel that the hardest aspect to success is the student's ability to read. I emphasize proper technique and the ability to correctly know what it is the music is asking for in the performance.

About Frankie
In addition to being a Berklee College of Music Graduate, I have a Masters in Music Education, and currently completing my Doctorate in Music Education from Boston University, I have been playing for over 30 years.

Lessons are written and tailored to you. I use music, printouts, and instructional material to make sure you progress as you should.

I have spots available every day of the week, so I'm confident that we can find something that works for both of us.

I know that learning to play any style of music whether it be Jazz, Blues, Soul, Motown, Funk, or Rock is a challenge, but with help from an experienced educator, your instrument becomes a rewarding lifelong enjoyment.

Please feel free to contact me. I would be happy to speak with you regarding any questions you may have.

Have you or your kids always wanted to learn to play piano? I am an experienced music teacher specialized in beginner and intermediate piano students of ALL ages. I believe that it is never too late to learn to play an instrument, no matter your age! I teach classical piano through Suzuki method and can also teach modern piano styles upon request.

About Hannah
After studying piano for almost 10 years I decided I wanted to learn a new instrument and began taking violin lessons when I was 16 years old. In spite of people telling me that I was “too old” to learn to play the violin, I continued practicing and one year later I joined my first orchestra. In 2016 I graduated with a BA in Music from the University of Massachusetts Boston and I am now the violinist of Boston-based fusion rock band " The Sunset Kings".
In November of 2018, I released my Spanish debut single "Ni Una Más" under my artist name "Hannah Schzde". "Ni Una Más" is now available in every music streaming service world-wide!
In addition to offering private violin and piano lessons and performing with The Sunset Kings, I am also a studio violinist and perform with different orchestra pits in the Boston area while I continue to wri
te and record new material for my upcoming debut EP.
***Note: My availability is flexible! Please send me a message if my calendar doesn't fit with your schedule and we'll work it out!***

Experienced and well rounded musician. Just graduated from New England Conservatory with Masters in Voice Performance. Performed recently as Cunegonde in Bernstein's Candide and Queen of the Night in Mozart's Magic Flute.

Also trained in violin (15 years) and piano (10 years), and have experience tutoring music theory and keyboard harmony at the undergrad level.

Have taught beginning/intermediate piano, improvisation, and play/improvise constantly :)

Lets start the road towards your musical growth and enjoyment in the way YOU work best!! Whether you want to learn how to improvise, sight read, play by ear, or learn specific pieces, I am here to help you MAKE THAT HAPPEN!!

While we are at it, we can work on another instrument, music theory, or even an academic subject (check out my other subjects on my page!).

About Catherine
Hi! I'm Catherine. I'm passionate for anything music, math, or science, and I would love to work with you to help you accomplish your academic, musical, or personal goals!

A BIT ABOUT ME:

I have a BA in Chemistry and Music (voice and violin concentrations) with academic honors, and a Masters in Music from New England Conservatory (NEC). I have lab experience in Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Astrochemistry at Rollins College, Georgia Tech and The University of Virginia.

I have taught and tutored keyboard harmony and music theory at the Undergrad level at NEC, and have tutored privately (math up to calculus, chemistry up to organic, writing).

WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU:

Having trained in violin for 15 years, piano for 10, and voice for 8, I am ready to help you expand your skills with music lessons.

I am also ready t
o tutor you in music theory, math, chemistry, writing, and will take further requests!! (I can even do standardized tests like the SAT or ACT).

I can't wait to help you in the way that YOU learn best, and taper our lessons to what will help YOUR GROWTH. Going through school and lessons was not a breeze for me, and I was never one of those people who just “got” things right away. For me it took a diligent learning process, so I know what it's like to learn things from scratch, work with a tutor, ask questions, and make mistakes to achieve the best I can. I want to help you do the same!!

Let's schedule a trial lesson and go from there! Look forward to meeting you.
