I'm originally from Tokyo, Japan.
I have been in U.S.A for 10 years already, though…
Since I'm a Japanese, bunch of people have asked me to teach and I always helped them when I have time.

I even took a Japanese class to learn how people study the language in college class, I can help people in college class method.
I also have materials that help you to improve writing and reading.
I know reading and writing are tough. But step by step, you definitely master those!

Let's talk what you want to know and why are you interested in the language. Maybe because of Anime? Comic? or even some pop music? I can easily find those media to help you.

Class start from talking about what you like, who you are. Speak as much as you can or write in English then translate it into Japanese.
If you have no clue in writing, I give you materials to study "Hiragana' and "Katakana." if you are already comfortable of those letters, I'll move on to easy "kanji."
We will talk about grammar based ...

During my undergraduate studies, I worked as a president of SUNY Albany Japanese Student Association and also worked as a TA for Japanese 101 classes, and I absolutely love to teach languages! I understand it is often very hard to find a language tutor outside of the spoken community, and I hope to provide you with the opportunity to be exposed to authentic media sources to acquire natural fluency. Hope to hear from you soon!

Initially I like to evaluate the student's current comprehension level (regardless of years studied) to better select the appropriate starting point. From there, if there is a specific subject matter or course work/syllabus for a class that needs to be followed, I can tailor lessons to fit those needs. Throughout lessons, I like to bring in elements such as cartoons, newspapers, movie clips, etc. to aid in understanding everyday usage & make learning practical and pertinent to the student.

About Kenji Luis
I grew up speaking English, Portuguese & Japanese in a multilingual family and from a young age developed a strong affinity & penchant for languages. I attended an English-Portuguese Bilingual school through 6th grade and studied Japanese 4 years in high school, along with weekend Japanese school classes. In college I went on to major in International Relations & Diplomacy with a concentration in French studies, also honing my Spanish that I had picked up along the way (with Romance Languages, I have a very easy time of language absorption). I've gone on to work for international companies wherein my language skills have been highly sought after, translating & communicating often in all my language strengths.

Kenji is a nice guy and speaks very slowly and clearly. My only misgiving was with error correction. I am not sure if he could not hear me well do to the connection, but I got the feeling he was not correcting all my mistakes when I spoke. I also would have preferred a more structured class, but I probably should have told him that in the beginning of our session. Otherwise he was a nice guy and spoke Portuguese very well.

I grew up speaking both Japanese and English at home and understand the difficulty of trying to juggle both languages! Whether you want to learn a new language, or simply want to brush up on your Japanese skills, I am always happy to be of help! Lessons will include reading, writing, listening, and speaking (both formal and colloquial styles). I typically use the Genki and Tobira books and also like to introduce students to classic and modern Japanese literature as a way to enhance the students’ cultural knowledge. I welcome beginning and intermediate Japanese students!

About Mona
I'm an active flutist and Japanese enthusiast living in Boston! I recently graduated from the University of Washington with a flute performance degree and Japanese minor and am now pursuing graduate studies at the New England Conservatory. I believe that learning music should be fun and inspiring, but that 95% of artistry is simply hard work! I, therefore, create a positive and encouraging environment for all of my students, while still setting challenging goals. Additionally, I tailor my teaching to fit each studentโ€™s needs so that learning potential can be maximized. Stylistic choices in musical expression/phrasing are encouraged through the incorporation of music theory, music history, and ear training skills into lessons. I also believe that body awareness is important, and will include stretches and practice methods into each lesson,
so students can practice efficiently and prevent injuries!

I grew up speaking both Japanese and English and welcome beginning Japanese students!

Mona knows what she's doing and is very kind. Not only are the links that she sends you during the lesson helpful but she explains when you'd use the words and helps you understand the appropriate situations for when you use them. She is very friendly and a wonderful teacher that will listen to your questions and answer them and her answers are never halfhearted. I completely would recommend her as a Japanese tutor/Instructor if you wish to learn how to speak and write Japanese while still having that relaxing environment.

Japanese is one of the hardest languages for a Westerner to learn. When my job sent me to Tokyo in 2012, I was excited to pick up the language as I had with Italian years earlier. But most teaching methods I found were positively awful, and served to confuse the student. So I developed my own combination of methods to learn Japanese as quickly as possible, and achieved fluency in six months. After that I began instructing Japanese classes for Americans living in Tokyo, creating my own curriculum from total beginner to fluency, helping more than 300 students enrich their experience of Japan by speaking the language.

Japanese is unlike any other language in the world, and I would be delighted to show you the incredibly rewarding path to fluency.

About Luke
I am deeply passionate about sharing knowledge with others and have been lucky to be teaching my entire adult life. There are so many enriching experiences available to us when we learn more about the world.

Foreign languages are among my favorites, and I have specialized in teaching Latin, Italian, and Japanese. As a geologist, I am also profoundly interested in the sciences. When I teach I like to understand where my students are coming from, what really inspires them, and help them to enjoy and love what they want to learn. For me, learning is always fun, so whether you like to study or you are having trouble motivating yourself to concentrate, together we will discover the joy and fun in what you are studying.

Hi y'all, my name is Mike and I am a Japanese language speaking professional. By day, I am a mechanical engineer for a small Japanese press machine company in Dayton, Ohio, but by night, I am a Japanese language instructor (with my own blog, known as Simple Gaijin). If you are ready to make the step to learn one of the world's most difficult languages in a fun, supportive way, leave it to the Gaijin!

About Mike
Japanese has always been my passion ever since I was a child. Now I run a small Japanese consulting business (Simple Gaijin) and have now moved into the Japanese language teaching field.

I am a former JET Program ALT (Hokkaido) and English teacher (Chiba), but I've been tutoring Japanese for a little over six years now ever since I was in college. I am functionally fluent in the language, and conduct business in Japanese on a daily basis with my coworkers.

I've been teaching Japanese since I was a teenager (am 30 years old now) and very patient. I Have helped several students reach fluency levels in Japanese over the years. If you have a goal I'll help you get there.

About Stephen
Currently looking for new students.
I teach piano, japanese, chess, go(weiqi/baduk), and meditation/self-improvement.
I am very proficient in all of the above subjects and have helped dozens of students reach their long-term goals over the years. I am also very patient and have taught children piano lessons for more than 10 years. As a learner I know how overwhelming new subject-matter could be and I tend to understand the pace that the student needs/wants to go at.
I feel a huge sense of accomplishment when I see my students improving. I also am constantly improving myself as a teacher so the lessons will only get better and the material should be easier to understand with time.
Let's master anything you want to work on, and have a lot of fun too :)
Thanks for reading!
-Stephen

Patient instructor. I'm super rusty and he was able to keep at my pace. He also made it interesting by using practical scenarios and alternating with cartoons or games. He watches anime as well so I was able to learn while talking about things I like. It helped practicing much easier.
